Today I get to leave the hospital and rest at home for a few days.
"Mum why was i born abilityless and everyone else was born with some kind of ability?"
My mum didn't look at me when i said that but "Your father was abilityless as well so i think ou inherited the abilityless thing from him.
"Mum... can I still become a hero even without an ability?" She smiled and said "You can be who ever you dream to be. Never give up" Those words to a smile on my face "Then if thats the case... I will sign up to take the HC Academy hero course exam next month"
My mum froze and said "Yea g-go to any school you want..."
After about 3 days at home, I heard my mum shouting from downstairs "Kai don't be late! Wake up" And so i got up and go changed.
"Another day of school and another day of Jack"
I don't know why Jack is always so cruel to me. Even the kids with useless abilities weren't bullied by Jack. So why me...No don't think about that now.. get dressed and go downstairs.I went downstairs and had my breakfast, after that i made my way to the bus stop. "Damn, where's the bus?" As soon as i said that, i saw a bus pull over so i went inside. Most of my class mates that took the bus were already here. There was only one spare seat and that was next to some blonde haired girl looking out the window. So i sat there and minded my own business untill she turned to face me and asked "Do you go to Wasem school?"
I answered her with a simple "yes"
"Can you take me around the school? Im new to Wasem school"
"Sure ok i will take you around"
"Thank you, do you want to be my friend?"
I was so happy someone asked me to be their friend. I never had any friends before... but why me? ME! Im weak and powerless " Im abilityless why would you want to be driends with me?"
She smiled and said " I don't care if you have an ability or not. Ability or not, I dont mind. What makes a friend is their personality by the way my name is Kayla what about you?" I can't believe someone was nice enough to say that to me.. "My name is Kai"
This is how we became really close friends.
This morning Kayla and I were walking to Maths class but then a lot of bullies surrounded us and started laghing "Oh look who we have here Kai and Kayla" Kayla looked really made and asked me "Are these guys taking a piss or somehing" I couldn't hold back my laughter at what she said, soon we both started laughing, we completely forgot about the bullies. "HEY DONT IGNORE US YOU BASTARD!" Soon he attacked. But then, some sort of explosion threw them across the corridor.. I looked to my left and saw Kayla using that ability to keep them away... "K-kayla what is your ability?"
She looked at me and said "Its nothing special. Its called Explosion"
I stared at her with shock. How is that nothing special?!? She literally just exploded those guys and threw them across the corridor... "Nothing special? Nothing special???" She raised her eyebrow and said "It really isn't anything special. I can create explosions depending on how much energy i have. My ability drains my energy"
"Its still an awesome ability though."
I couldn't hold back my question any longer
"Do you want to go to HC Academy with me?"
She looked at me with a puzzled expression and said "What's HC Academy?"
I was shocked.
How doesn't Kayla know what HC Academy is?
"it's a school where you train to become a hero. With your ability you will be an amazing hero"
She smiled once again and said "Hell yea im going to a hero course with you"
She looked so excited. I told her
"The exam starts in 3 months"
"Oh ok"
Both of us started training everyday. Kayla was practing her ability and studying while i was studying and training my strenght.
Before we knew it, it was the day of the exam.
We did our writing and fighting exam. But then it was time to do the ability exam.... I told the teachers there i don't have an ability then one of them said said "Hmm you have pretty good test results for the fighting and writing but no ability. I will put you in class 1-B for now."
I was glad to have atleast made it into HC Academy. Then i saw a nightmare...Jack grinning with a paper in his hand. He whacked it in front of my face and what i saw was just horror "I got to class 1-A! What class did you get to?.. Oh wait you probably failed"
Actually i didn't fail. My marks for fighting were better than yours and you're bragging because you got to class 1-A. To my surprise I saw Kayla running towards me with a sheet of paper with her test marks. She screamed "I GOT TO CLASS 1-A! I can't believe it. What class did you get to?"
"1-B"
"Wow and you dont even have an ability."
And so we went to our homes to pack our stuff and say bye to our parents for the year.
We made our way to the dorms we had to be in. Kayla went to her dorm downstairs and i went to my dorm upstairs. I unpacked my clothes and sat down on my new bed.
