Luke was in the kitchen when she came down, she stood near the breakfast bar looking at his back. He was moving around the kitchen effortlessly, he stopped as he seemed to catch her sight, turning around, he looked at her with amusement in his eyes, "Were you always this small?" He stiffled a laugh. She pulled her hands across her chest as if defending herself from somebody.
"But anyhow you look cute." He added and turned back to the counter. As if she was drawn towards him she moved and sat on the stool at the bar staring at his movements.
He finally handed her a mug, "Hot chocolate." He said and then grabbed another one for himself. He sat down across the bar and looked at her fidgeting with her fingers. "Could you stop that. It's distracting." He said. She put her hands in her lap.
Nora looked at him acting coolly as if nothing happened, as if she didn't say anything to him, as if it was just another normal day. "You didn't answer me." She stammered, "I told you I like you."
Luke put down his cup and looked at her intently with his penetrating blue sapphires "You need an answer?"
She looked at him in the eye and nodded, her cheeks were warming up, embarrassment was taking over.
He looked at her, she was completely flushed, he was about to talk to her when she spoke and it was fun seeing all of her expressions, and she gathering up all of her courage to speak. And then going to a shade of deep red with a mere stare. It was funny and cute and completely out of his league. This was the first time he fell for someone like that, someone complete opposite of him. She was a confident girl, someone who could rip you apart if messed with. But knowing some of her buttons wasn't that bad.
"Are you sure?" He stood up and moved to her side, she turned as he stood in front of him, her eyes never backed down.
"You're flushed." He put his hands on her either sides caging her.
"I took a long shower." She said.
"Really." He bent down his nose almost touching her neck, he could feel her breathing quicken and her shivers rise up and then broke down laughing.
Nora looked at him, mesmerized by his laughter, it was so young, so cheerful and it made him even more attractive. She came to her senses and realized she was angry, "What was that?"
"Nothing." He said, trying to calm down.
Nora pushed him away and jumped off the stool. She barely made it two steps away when he grabbed her by her waist and held her up. "Put me down." She shouted.
"You're not going anywhere little Nora." He smirked.
She pushed at him but it was just impossible, "Okay." He put her down on the stool, "You wanted an answer, right?"
She looked at him with gleaming eyes, he seemed more handsome today, his copper brown hair were messed up but everything looked perfect on him. He was in a black shirt, sleeves rolled up which revealed his muscular arms and his blue eyes were shinier than ever.
"The moment I confessed to you I was sure it will be impossible for me to move on. I've wanted you for very long and today you finally said yes. You have no idea how happy I am right now Nora." He rested his forehead against hers, her heartbeat quickened, "Thank you is all I can say." He softly kissed her nose and gave that perfect smile which made her melt.
He looked down at her, her hazel eyes were shining with pure joy, something he'd wanted to see for so long. Having her beside him was nothing less of a dream, a dream he did not want to be awaken from. He kissed her forehead, "Thank you Nora." He murmured.
Luke's phone rang, he grabbed it from his pocket, "Tina." He showed it to her and picked it, "Yeah, she's here. Yes in one piece. Okay. You want to talk to her?" He arched his eyebrows, Nora shook her head furiously, he smiled, "She's in the bathroom, yes I'll see to it. Bye."
"What did she say?"
"She called you an idiot, and you're staying here tonight." He shrugged.
"Why–" the loud thunder cut off, she looked at him and he shrugged his shoulders, "But where will I sleep?"
"With me of course." He said innocently.
"No!" She almost tripped from the stool but he held her, "Just kidding. It already took me long enough to get those words out of you, I won't push you." He kissed her on the head. She tried to pull away but he only hugged her tightly.
