"Miss Nora, I was told to drop you off at your dorm. It's still two blocks away." Jerry said.
"No there's no need for that. I'll get off here. I want to go to Slurpies." Nora said.
"But Mr. Osborne.."
"Don't worry about him. I'll take care of that. Now open the lock."
Jerry reluctantly unlocked her door, "Thank you for the ride, Mr?"
"You can call me Jerry."
"Okay. So Jerry thank you and don't worry about Luke, he won't do anything." She smirked and got out of the car. She stood there as Jerry drove away and then headed towards Slurpies. She got in the queue and ordered her regular drink, getting her milkshake she stepped out and was on her way to the dormitory, when someone bumped into her, spilling the milkshake all over her. The person did not stop but ran right past her, Nora looked at him with disbelief, "What the hell." She muttered. Before she knew, a few people bumped into her again, pushing her out of the way. "It would have been better if I took the ride." She sighed and brushed off the remnants from her shirt, she dumped the empty cup in the trash bin, when she overhead two men, "That guy right now is one of them, the Majestros. I heard he's a criminal on run."
"These people are pests, harming our society and nothing more. I hope he is executed." The other said.
Hearing the conversation Nora was already on her feet, following the direction the crowd went in. For an unknown reason she was worried for the guy, she caught up with the crowd. "He's gone. I'll report to the police immediately. He did something to my kid." A woman shouted.
"Miss I think we should move back he can be dangerous." An old man said. Nora went up and joined the crowd, the guy was out of sight. She stood there looking around, waiting for the crowd to disperse.
A hand came up and covered her mouth tightly, she let out a muffled cry. Her hands started flying around wildly, aiming for the guy's face, she felt a sharp tip at her throat, "Move again and I'll slit open your throat, little girl." The man whispered in her ear. She stopped struggling. "Get away from me or this girl dies." The man shouted drawing the attention towards him. The people gasped, "There you are monster." A man shouted.
"I am a monster, you say. Good then, I'll kill her right in front of you." He pressed the knife at her throat and blood trickled down. "Now out of my way. No one follows me." The crowd made way for the guy and he moved dragging Nora along with him. The people looked at her with pity, no one came up to help, they stood there looking at the scene.
He moved to an old car and threw Nora in the back seat. He got in and started the car and sped away. Nora got up and looked behind, the crowd had already started to disperse. "None of them care about you little girl, the reason they didn't attack me back there was not because of you but because they are fucking cowards." He smirked.
"Stop the car I need to get off. You're free now, no one's following you. Let me go." She shouted.
"That's a rude way to treat someone of your own kind." He looked at her in the rear view mirror. Nora looked at him in disbelief, the man smirked, "It's my power I sense the other Majestros. I sensed your power when I bumped into you. You have quite a strong aura. Now come here."
She didn't move but rather moved away, the man laughed, "I'll not harm you. I don't harm my own kind. Come here." She didn't move. "If it's like this then." He sped up and made a sharp turn, the car screeched and came to a halt in an alley. The man got off and opened the back door, holding Nora by her arm, he pulled her. Nora stuck her foot at the door and resisted his force. "Quite strong aren't you?" He let go of her arm and held her by the back of her neck, "Rebellious little thing."
"Let go of me." Nora kicked his leg, the man smiled. He brought up his other hand to her neck, Nora pulled back but his grip at her neck was too strong. He traced his thumb at the cut on her throat, it burnt. Nora let out a cry, "Leave me." She kicked him again. The burning sensation was increasing and so was the pain. She clawed at his hand but it only made him tighten his grip at her neck.
He finally released her, she squirmed to the other side of the seat, her hand on her throat, "Stay the fuck away from me." She shouted.
The man smiled and raised his hands, "As you say." He moved away from the car.
Nora's heart was beating furiously, she couldn't believe what happened to her in the past hours, looking around, the place was unknown, she didn't know where she was. "I have to get out of here." She mumbled. She opened the door on her side and slipped out. She crouched low and looked around, the man was on the phone and had his back to her, taking the opportunity she dashed out from her hiding.
The man turned around and looked at her running away, an evil smile crossed his face. He went after her and grabbed her bag, she let go of it and continued running. She reached the end of the alley, her way was blocked by a huge man, having a structure that of a huge mountain, she stopped in her tracks. The man stepped forward, Nora stumbled back. "Go easy on her Robert." The man came into the light. He had jet black hair which were messed up. He was in a white dress shirt and black pants which had shoe prints. He had her bag in one of his hands. "I told you I don't hurt my kind. Why are you so resistant?" He asked.
"Stay away." Nora said. "Don't hurt your own kind? What was that a few moments ago?"
"I'm a healer little girl. Your cut, it's gone now." He moved towards her. Nora put up her hand and touched her throat, the cut was gone. She looked up at him her mouth opened. "See I was just helping you and you," he motioned down at his pants to the shoe prints.
"Okay so let me go now." Nora said sternly, "You are out of danger now, so let me go."
"I'm afraid it's too soon. You'll have to wait for a while, the things are bit messed up." He put down her bag in front of her.
"Why? You messed it up. Why am I being held hostage?" She countered.
"I will tell you everything if you want me to but you cannot go right now, it is not safe and if you try to run again Robert right there will snap you like a twig." He said, his black eyes growing darker. "So what do you think?" He smiled.
"I'll listen to what you have to say." She said in a small voice.
"Wise decision. Let's sit down then." He smiled again.
