The whole kingdom was filled with joy as the news that Ning Xi gave birth to a boy spread rapidly around the towns and villages.
Zhang Xiu Ying was happy that her son finally has a heir to the throne. She took the child away from Ning Xi who was holding her child tightly and ran to the balcony where the people of Fujian gathered.
She shouted from above
"This is your king! His name is Wang Lei, he will take the throne once he is 18 years of age and will rule till death calls for him"
The crowd erupted with cheers and chanted in synchronisation.
"All hail the new king, Wang Lei!"
"All hail the new king Wang Lei!"
Lu Youran scoffed at the sight of the little child in his mother's arms, threatening to take his position as the king of Fujian. He doubted that the child was a boy and he decided to investigate to clear his doubts.
The next day, he went with his personal guard, Shuan to confront the family doctor. They arrived at Tannan, the village where she lived with the rest of her family members but they didn't know exactly where she lived, so Lu Youran sent his personal guard to get information on her location from the people also living in Tannan. He got information from the farmers who were ploughing their fields.
He informed Lu Youran on the information he received from the farmers
"Master Lu Youran, the information gotten from those farmers in the field was that the doctor, whose name is Ah Ro, was an immigrant from Inour, she is the only survival in her family as both her mother and father died because of the spreading epidermis which killed a large number of people 16 years ago and after that traumatizing incident, she devoted the rest of her life go being a doctor of Fujian to and till this day, she lives in the fourth apartment just at the left."
Lu Youran nodded his head in satisfaction
" You have done a good job and you shall receive a good reward for your loyalty to me."
The guard grinned from ear to ear thinking about the "good reward" Lu Youran talked about.
His daydream was caught off as Lu Youran sent a death glare to him
He got back to his senses and led Lu Youran towards the doctor's house. The guard knocked on the door, but hot no response. He knocked more and more but no response came.
He noticed a padlock on the door, which signifies that there is no one in the house at the moment. He sighed looking at his reddened hands that he used to knock on the door.
He turned, so he could face Lu Youran
" It seems that there is no one in this house at the moment. We can either wait or come back later. I personally think that we should come back later as the sun is going to set very soon."
"Shut up! Who gave you the right to tell me what to do. How dare you disrespect your king. Forget about getting that reward. You won't be getting a penny for a whole month!" Lu Youran said with a disgusted look on his face.
The guard , knowing that his job and source of income was on the line, got on his knees and pleaded.
"Master Lu Youran, you know I am your most loyal guard, which is why I am your personal guard. It was just a mere suggestion that I couldn't help but share it with you. I didn't think that you would take it seriously. I am sorry master Lu Youran. Please forgive me."
Lu Youran looked down at him like he was a pest
"Stand up, servant. From today, you must obey me and never dare to go against my decisions or else, you are done for"
The guard nodded in fear
"y-yes master. It won't happen again."
Lu Youran smiled in satisfaction.
Little did he know what this man was planning behind his back. Shuan never gained trust from Lu Youran during his first days as a guard as he didn't know where he was from and thought he was an imposter. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that he became the personal guard to Lu Youran.
Shuan came from the village of Outa, a village in the south east part of Fujian. Outa is also called, the capital of poverty as this is where all the poor people of Fujian live in.
His parents were killed by Lu Youran for disobeying his orders. Lu Youran saw that they were living in poverty and offered to help them in their crisis. Lu Youran wanted Shuan's mother as one of his concubines but his father disagreed with the deal that Lu Youran offered.
Lu Youran grew furious as Shuan's mother was one of the most beautiful maidens in Fujian, but she chose to marry a poor man for love.
Lu Youran thought that they would easily accept his offer as others would, but this couple was different. Shuan could vividly remember what happened that faithful day.
Lu Youran tried to kidnap his mother after they refused the offer, so his father punched him in the face, but that only made his anger rise up. His anger now reached the climax and nothing can be done when Lu Youran reaches this stage.
He ordered his men to kill them for insubordination. His parents were killed right in front of him for the so called "insubordination"
Since that day, he has had hatred towards him and swore over his parents dead bodies with tears in his eyes
" I, Shuan swear over my parents corpses on this day. I will make sure that Lu Youran is killed by me for what he has done to our once peaceful family.
He thought if ways to get closer to Lu Youran, so he could get his revenge but the only way was to become a royal guard.
From that day, he started to train to become one of Lu Youran's guards as that was the easiest way to get closer to him and eradicate him effectively.
