After the discussion about the wedding Catie and Luke often went outside. Not because they wanted to it's because their parents forced them to. Luke went to the Walker Mansion to fetch Catie; mostly they went to the café and dinner just like a normal date. One day while they were on the Café Catie suddenly spoke up
"Mr. Herondale I-"
Luke interjected "Luke"
*sigh "Fine Luke you know I don't like it this way." Luke suddenly stopped sipping his tea and looked at Catie with a raised brow as if saying why. And Catie seemed to understand.
"I don't like the way they force us to do things. I don't like being forced to do something. And another thing, I know you hate spending time with... " Catie suddenly stopped because of a phone call. It was from her best friend Jonathan Lewis. Luke saw who called and he refused to let her go to answer the call. He immediately he held her hand and said with a tone where there was no room for objection
"Answer it here"
Catie was surprised because of the sudden movement but she didn't have any choice but to listen to him and she stammered the words "O-okay". She answered the call and was greeted by her playful bestfriend.
"Hey there my dear." hearing that Catie could only purse her lips and Luke raise his brow.
The Guy called her My Dear does she have a boyfriend?
"Oh, Hey Jonathan"
"Catie what's with the news? Your with Luke Herondale?"
Catie knew about her best friend's straight forwardness but with the man infront of her, it seemed too awkward to say it. Even if she didn't want to talk about it she can't possibly say that he's infront of her right? And besides she knew he was going to pester her the whole time. Luke heard what Jonathan said he raised both his brows and nodded as if saying 'tell him'. Seing that Catie answered
"Yeah what about it?"
Luke leaned back while his hand still holding hers.
On the other side Jonathan cannot hold it in anymore. He screamed and shouted out of excitement on the phone . Catie who held the phone close to her ears felt she was going to be deaf. She immediately held the phone away from her ears. The voice resounded inside the whole cafè.
"Girl you have done it! Oh my god I can't believe it!"
Hearing that Catie answered
"Hey can you calm down a bit? Were in a cafe right now!"
"Oh yes dear I know, I know Sorry"
Luke raised his brow as if asking her why is he acting like that. Catie formed her lips saying. 'He's gay.' Luke understood now. She didn't have a boyfriend ang this Jonathan Guy is a Gay. 'Well at least she doesn't have any affair with other men.' Luke thought to himself. If she did, he would be heartbroken at the prospect. I mean knowing that the woman he loved for years, was in love with someone else.
"Wait, Wait You said you know were in the café? How?" Catie got really confused. Why would he know they're in the cafè?
"You don't know?" Hearing that, Catie could only purse her lips and she looked at Luke whose eyes were directed in one specific table across the café. Catie turned to where he was looking and there it was. She saw a person holding a camera facing them. He was all in black he wore shades a cap and a mask which makes it difficult to recognise him.
Catie immediately turned her head back and covered her face with her hair she didn't dare look at Luke's face at all. Catie answered Jonathan "Okay, now I think I know. How many people have seen this?"
Jonathan heard what she said and directly answered her. "Girl it's only been a few minutes and the viewers reached thousands! There were a lot of shares of your photos. Just check out all your accounts, Google, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Wiebo Etc. Everything is Blowing!"
Luke however just stayed calm he knew who sent those paparazzies. While still holding her hand he held his phone and scrolled through his phone normally like nothing happened.
Catie ended the call and check all of her accounts.
