She saw a familiar face infront of her and that familiar face, was Jonathan Lewis's Father. Mr. Simon Lewis. But the only difference were his noblish outfit and his long hair that was tied behind by a ribbon. And here she shouldn't act rashly. She was thinking and almost tempted to call the man Mr. Lewis but trusting Genevive's memory she chose to call him Dr. Walt. Given that she was already a grown woman inside, she knows full well about the consequences of her rash actions.
Then a minute later, a man came into her field of vision looking worried, and there were beads of sweat on his face. A face that was different from the one she saw in the mirror before. This man had dark blue eyes and nearly golden-brown hair, his lips were thin and his face was masculine that people might mistake him for a General or a part of the army than a Duke. As a matter of fact, he is a General. From the time he was only sixteen he had joined the army of the kingdom to fight against the other kingdoms. What was really similar to him and his daughter were their noses, the perfectly shaped aristrocratic nose.
"Genevive?! What happened? Why is she crying? Did something go wrong?" Alan asked the maids.
"I don't know for sure Master, when I came here and I expected that the young miss was sleeping. But she woke up early, and then she was asking me questions, then-then she just cried so I called for the doctor because I thought something was wrong." Jean said bowing deeply. But knowing the little miss, whenever she sees her father, she would surely lie and accuse them of almost everything. She was a spoiled brat. Now that she woke up early, she would surely blame her for waking her up and then their Master would punish them all.
But to her surprise.
"Father, I- I'm sorry if I had caused you any distress but I'm fine. Really. I-I just had a bad dream." Catie said. Correction, Genevive said. From today forward she was going to be Genevive and not just plain old Catie Audrey Walker or Catherine Audrey Walker-Herondale. She would live her life here as Genevive Andrea Rosse. A duke's daughter and she'll try to live up to her legacy. There was determination in her mind as she thought of this..
"Are you sure princess? Because it looks severe, your eyes they're red so is your nose. Doctor is there any problem at all? She was crying earlier is there anything wrong with her heart?" Genevive could feel the worry in Alan's voice. That moment, she decided not to tell the man that she was not his daughter, that his real daughter was dead and only her soul departed from this body.
She turned to the doctor only to see that the doctors face turn pale, and filled with shock.
"What is it doctor?" He asked.
Alan couldn't say anyhing upon seing the man's face afraid that his daughter was suffering again. That the problem had worsened.
"Lord Alan, Lady Genevive, she, she doesn't have any complication at all. It's like everything vanished! Without a trace!" The doctor looked confused so did everyone.
"That's impossible! How!" Alan said as he looked at his daughter.
"I have checked her vitals, her heart and every problem she had a long time ago but now there is no trace! What power does your daughter have?" The doctor asked.
Power? What power? What is he talking about?
"My daughter has Fire magic just like her mother," Alan answered the man.
"Are you sure? Because that illness was untreatable even for experts like myself! I have also asked my comrades about the illness she had even my superiors but they didn't have a clue how to heal her illness!" Doctor Walt was totally shocked his eyes were almost bulging out.
Everyone looked confused about what the doctor said. Then pictures played in Genevive's mind. It wasn't Catie's memory but Genevive's yet again where her father taught her the rules of this world.
"Princess come here," Alan said while his beautiful wife the late duchess Grace was beside him. She was just five years old back then but she could understand everything. Despite Genevive's Weak Body constitution, she was smart and so much like Catie. Except Catie was a spy trained and mastered the Martial arts since young. And also who learned medical school for a while.
"Yes daddy?" A cute little voice asked
"I need to tell you something" Alan said
"What is it?" Genevive asked in a curious tone.
"It's about our world dearest" A voice as lovely as a blooming rose was heard, It was from her mother who held Genevive and sat her on her lap.
"You see darling, we don't live in a normal world like villagers Genevive. We live alongside noblemen and women, Soldiers, Generals and Commanders. But also we live with magic" Alan had said.
"Now that you're almost six, your powers will reveal itself to the world during your birthday. That day, everyone in the family will see what kind of power you will have. Fire or Water." Lady Grace had continued.
"Mommy, How does it work?" She asked with pleading eyes and her parents could only laugh in defeat.
"Sweetheart this world runs of magic, five elements to be exact are here. Fire,Earth, Air, Water, and Light. We nobles can posses only one or two powers at once. And only the Royal family can control three or more powers at once. Amazing huh." Her mother smiled at her
"Princess, you are bethrothed to the prince, so you need to take care of yourself, okay? Whatever Magic you get, be sure to study it well and enhance it so you could protect yourself." Alan said at last. Tears were glinting in both her parents eyes.
That was it, that was what they were talking about. Power, Magic. This worlds runs in Magic?! Fire Magic, should I learn some spells? have a wand? Like Harry Potter? Or is it gonna be like Tinkerbel? or somekind of hand controlled magic like Percy Jackson?
"Only light users can develop such changes, My Lord! And you said your daughter has Fire magic, It's impossible to have her healed unless. Unless she's a light user." The doctor said.
"That's impossible, preposterous! What an incredulous idea! There was never in this family who had Light magic but one ancient anccestor! Lady Zara Soilis- Rosse. She was the only family member to have such power her son was an earth user and not light! But they existed long before we were born " Lord Alan retorted.
