The moment she walked down the stairs of the plane another woman was waiting to escort her. The emblem was enough to tell her that she was one of their workers. She couldn't feel anything except a hollow inside her chest that she knew will be burst when she would look at Noah. Was it really going to happen? Was she going to see her Noah in a few seconds? The thought made her feet a little impatient and this made that maid keep up with her too.
Getting inside the mansion she was welcomed with a grandiose entrance. A huge set of stairs was at the front across the huge hall that was adorned with many sitting arrangements. But her focus was the huge picture that was hanging at her left that showed her Noah with Amber and Gideon. Her Nick and Shannon, but there was something strange. The picture seemed perfect even without her. Noah seemed genuinely happy while kissing Shannon and balancing Nick who was swinging around his neck.
"Where is he? Where are my kids?" Sydney asked looking at the frame.
"They are waiting for you upstairs, the last room to the left." Glancing at the picture for one more time she made her way upstairs. She tried to stay composed but the moment she was away from any eye she took her steps faster but came to a halt before turning the doorknob. Taking in two long breaths she opened the door.
"Noah?" She whispered looking at the empty room but startled at some sound and look at her back to find the door closed.
"Hello," She gets to the door to find it locked.
"Noah!" She cried out punching the door to hear nothing.
But then all of the things she has been ignoring started making sense. It wasn't Noah.
She turned to look at the bedroom she was in. Getting ahead she checked the doors to find a bath and an empty closet having nothing in particular but some covers and shades. It didn't take her long to notice a CCTV installed at one of the corners of the room.
"Who are you?" Sydney asked looking at the camera. She didn't have to wait any longer as at the very next moment a phone rang in the room.
"Hello," She picked up after locating the phone on the bed.
"You should have not come." The voice was not difficult to recognize.
"Why I am locked here?" Sydney asked,
"Why you came to my place?" The woman spoke,
"You said he was dead?" Sydney asked controlling her breathless self,
"No, I said we got no use for you," The woman on the other side seemed at the edge.
"Is he alive?" Sydney whispered,
"It shouldn't concern you," The woman on the other side seemed to be annoyed by her.
"You can't do this to me. I need answers. Who is the guy you are letting being Noah? How my kids are alive?" The silence prevailed on the other side of the line but then she heard the person on the other side say,
"I am not surprise you were always this dumb," Her voice made Sydney's blood boil.
"Let me be out and we will see," This time Sydney's voice came out louder.
"Hold on, you slut, you don't talk to me like that." The person on the other line yelled and before she could reply she screamed,
"What do you think? I don't know you? You were whoring yourself to your boss and now when you heard your rich husband is alive you are back?"
"I,...you are,...how you could say that?... Listen, Miss. Miller, someone has lied to you. I would never do,..." Thinking Noah's grandmother has some doubts over her she tried to clear but she was quick to cut her off,
"I know, honey. But Noah doesn't," This made Sydney's breathing fasten.
"Look,..." Sydney said looking into the camera this time.
"...I have never done anything wrong to you. Please,...just,...just tell me if he is,...alive,"
"Don't test my temper. Can't you see that I am still giving you respect?" Noah grandmother said,
"What respect?" Sydney was surprised in real.
"Don't forget the chartered plane you used so fast, you HOE!" Sydney had to pull her ear a little from the phone.
"...Miss Miller, don't test my patience,...please get me out of here," This time Sydney too was not here to take her crap.
"You aren't getting anywhere until I decide what to do with you," Listening to this made Sydney a little over the edge.
"Why are you doing this?" Sydney had to ask,
"Why? You are asking why? You should be thankful I never killed you. It was you who destroyed everything." Sydney knew what she was talking about. Even she always blamed herself for all that had happened but she didn't deserve to be away from her babies. But this made her voice somewhat lower when she asked,
"Miss Miller,...you can't do this, you have to tell me where is my family?"
"First, you tell me where you were when he was on the death bed. Oh, if you are forgetting that too let me remind you, you were on Lucifer's bed."
"Miss Miller!" Sydney couldn't help yelling.
"You don't yell at me," Miss Miller was quick to add. Listening to this made Sydney breathless. But she knew her Noah if alive will not treat her like this. He will understand her and all she had to do is to get to him.
"I was saving my babies," Sydney was at the edge of crying,
"Did you?" Miss Miller asked,
"I,..." Sydney was speechless.
"What I?...I saved them, they are mine," This made Sydney wonder. She knew it was impossible.
"Lucifer, Lucifer killed them, I,..." She found herself asking but Miss Miller was quick to cut her off,
"You are nothing but a curse. You only live because letting you live was your punishment but honey you are crossing your limits," Sydney knew if she had let her live it must be for some of her benefits but she didn't want to be here locked. She wanted out and needed to know what was happening.
"Let me out," Sydney seethed,
"Oh, I am afraid," Miss Miller had sarcasm in her voice.
"You should be. If you know then you must already know everything," Sydney said without holding back.
"Of course, honey. My facts are in check," Miss Miller's voice was still very cheerful.
"Miss Miller, I respect you but nothing gave you the right to manipulate me. Tell me why you are lurking me?" Sydney said tired of talking to her because it wasn't getting her anywhere.
"I never lurk you in anything. You came sniffing your babies' scent. I only caged you in the room before you could cause any ruckus." Why her voice made her believe that her babies were alive. Her Noah was alive. But maybe it is some kind of trap where she was letting her believe this.
"You are lying, why I should believe you? You only tell lies, Miss Miller. And, you are lying even now," Sydney tried to pressure her
"What? What did you say? I am lying?" Sydney could hear the edge in the voice.
"Prove you aren't lying?" Sydney challenged,
"I don't have anything to prove to you slut but fine,...look at your back," Sydney looked at her back to find the screen in her room to be lit and showing two kids at the dining table.
"Getting emotional? I would have let you see Noah but he has some important matter to attend to," Sydney heard her but didn't reply to her. She was busy looking at the kids having lunch and talking to each other. The video didn't have any audio but her heart said it was them. Or why this Miss Miller will raise someone else's kids.
"Are they my Nick and Shannon?" Sydney asked,
"No, no, no, they are my Amber and Gideon. They don't need a whore for their mother." Miss Miller was bent on to make her lost her mind.
"You know what? I have heard you don't show your face to anyone. I better never see you," Sydney threatened her.
"What you can do?" Miss Miller asked knowing she was such a hapless.
"I won't do anything but claim what's always been mine," Sydney said before throwing the phone in the wall. But the moment she looked at the camera it made her blood boil with anger. Lifting a vase she threw it to the camera and made sure it was useless.
Looking at her back she finds the screen still showing the dinner table but it was empty now. A tear slid down her right cheek while her heart squeezed knowing she lost almost five years of her kids. Somewhere she knew if it was all arranged by Miss Miller she won't be able to take her revenge from her given she was Noah's grandaunt. But there was one thing she knew. No power in this world can keep her away from her kids.
She waited until the door opens but no one came to even provide her lunch. Not that she was expecting it but it could have been her best shot at escaping. But she knew even if no one comes she can't be kept here to wait for that woman to decide for her.
When night arrived she got into the closet and take out all the sheets she could manage. Opening the window she managed to make that sheets long enough to let her get onto the land. Pulling it with all her might she assured her self it was strong enough. Her heart skipped a beat when she got herself out and leave the support on the window.
Don't look down, she told herself getting down. It was almost 35 feet high and having her feet on the ground only took her fifteen minutes. Ignoring her breathless self she hurried getting in the house knowing someone will notice her handmade rope and she could be busted any minute.
She hid behind a couch listening to someone coming. She heard two maids talking in a language she couldn't comprehend. Her bag wasn't where she left it. Only if I had my cell phone or card but I guess it doesn't matter when I have got my family back. She had to guess where her kids were because it was the only thing she had to take from here. She roamed hiding from cameras and maids to only reach the kitchen so far. She switched off the lights and waited for getting the house more quite. Sydney was still contemplating getting out of her hideout when she noticed two little feet passing her. Looking up she found Amber in a white silk night ware. For a moment Sydney feared getting captured by her own daughter and then hated herself to be this stupid. But what I was supposed to tell her. She thought but saw that girl get to her side. She knew that Amber was looking at her but felt like a criminal.
"Who are you?" Sydney heard the sweetest voice and looked up to find the most beautiful curious eyes. Amber had her hair tied in a side braid while her lips were pursed inquiring Sydney.
"You are the fairy," Sydney heard Amber say and hated herself lying to her daughter but nodded saying, "Yes, and I am here to take you to fairyland,"
"I don't want to go to fairyland. Can you take my brother and me to our dad?" Sydney was saddened knowing how her kids had to manage without their parents but she was quick to add,
"Sure,...but you have to tell me where your dad is?"
"He is in Seattle,...Can you do that?" Amber asked,
"Let's pack," Sydney smiled holding the hand Amber extended for her.
