Cole "When I went on my mission. There was another demon I was chasing. He seemed to be carrying a package out of this building actually."
Naiomi "Is this why we set our base here?"
Cole "Partly, It also happens to double as the only building that has a tunnel that leads out of the capitol. I would say that it was rather convenient but it really wasn't. This place has always been used by smugglers and criminals."
Aslalo "You'd think that they would shut this place down."
Cole "The only one who'd know would be god and god doesn't get involved unless specifically asked to remember? Besides the residents are terrified of the guards it seems. Out of the one hundred forty four thousand civilians they also just don't come here. It would be a waste of their time as the civilians basically are like the blood of this place."
Aslalo "Explain."
Cole "Didn't you think it was strange everyone wore the same clothes? It's not a fashion choice. They are employees with a special clearance. Guess what else gets moved through here?"
Aslalo "Uniforms for the smugglers."
Cole "Unfortunately. It appears some of the patrolling guards are demons that take blu-skye to blend in. What we saw was rather unusual to the capitol."
Naiomi "That would make sense. It would make them aggressive when it starts to wear off."
Aslalo "And what better place to experiment than the capitol where you literally hold absolute control over the population. A utopia truly is a dystopia…"
Jasmine "What are you saying?"
Cole "The government is letting demons in the capitol and those demons are taking blu-skye. In order to see the effects in absolute scientific process the government isn't doing anything about the trade here. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if they are making blu skye here."
Jasmine "That would make sense...they would obviously try to keep that under wraps so unauthorized sales of the drug would expose them. That's why they are coming down so hard on dealers."
Aslalo "So are we going to do anything about it?"
Cole "Yes, and get training in at the same time."
Aslalo "How?"
Cole "Well with my vice president, secret agent, and secretary here I think it's best if we come up with team combinations. I mainly use fire and you use lighting right? If we combine our power at a perfect flow rate we could cause a massive explosion."
Naiomi "Are you trying to broadcast our presence?"
Aslalo "No, he may have actually thought this through. If we wait for the next shipment out, and destroy the tunnel not only would they investigate and take out the dealers taking out of the capitol the news reports would instantly let everyone know where it was coming from."
Naiomi "And to distance their involvement they would shut down the operation and eliminate the dealers and any trail that leads to them. It has the benefit of taking out the dealers and bringing attention to it. It's genius."
Cole "I like how yall think i care if the operation gets shut down. The explosion would cut the flow out but I highly doubt the news would get out. Unless one of you plans to tattle. I'm counting on the cover up to train. While they are distracted with PR and the drugs, father will be exposed letting us sneak in with the guard uniforms, Naiomi will trap him in the time prison. Jasmine will focus on healing while Aslalo and I take on father."
Aslalo "We could just sneak in. It's not like we didn't get to the second to top floor already."
Jasmine "You are forgetting about Angillina. She needs these pills and she shoved the last of her supply in Cole's mouth. If we stop this delivery then she will degrade in power from withdrawal."
Aslalo "How do you know about the withdrawal? What if it makes her go crazy with power, now that she isn't sedated?"
Cole "Doesn't matter how I know what it will do. Point is this accomplishes our goals. Who are you to say that they can't do drugs?"
Aslalo "Your sense of self importance...just astounding."
Cole "I don't want to be here either to be frank with you. Samael made this plan and it's pretty solid. We can come back with an army if you really want to expose the government but how would that look to your family?"
Aslalo "These drugs are killing people! Entire city blocks turned into slums. My family would actually be supportive of this. It would bring honor after someone killed MY DRAGON."
Cole "If we are going to focus on the past then we can't move forward. As it stands the only proof of the government's involvement is in the tower. Regardless we would still need to complete the mission. Hold your morality for a second Aslalo. Say we expose the government, then what? What are your plans to deal with the mass distrust of their power? Would you like to deal with the civil war that would inevitably happen? What about the show of force that would come down now that they HAVE to do something? I wish this was some fairy tale where everyone gets a happy ending but it isn't and we need them to be a bastion of peace or we will have a massive war on our hands. Something sixteen people cant fight."
Aslalo "This is insane! How are we any better than them? We have the ability to stop it. We should do something."
Naiomi "Cole has a point. Small steps. You're smart enough to know this is just the beginning, no need to rush."
Cole "I said I would destroy the system. The government made this system the way it is."
Aslalo "This is history repeating itself."
Naiomi "Yea, it gets pretty tiring seeing the same situation repeat hundreds to thousands of times personally but this is the best time line."
Aslalo "Okay fine. I will cooperate for now. What do you have planned for now."
Cole "Well scans show they are right below us with a chemical similar to blu-skye. So it begins now! I need your most powerful attack Aslalo."
Aslalo "I can't, I used the dragon for it."
Cole "Are you so weak you need to rely on a beast to use your power? Give me everything like I'm going to give you. Summon all of your power."
Cole grabs Aslalo by his hand, taking him with as he launches himself miles into the air.
Aslalo "What the hell."
Cole "No time to think! Just do it. Summon the sky god."
Aslalo filled with worry summoned all of the power he could. Sparks crackled and popped around him.
Cole "Yes, more! Come on! We are almost there. Ageous king. Target locked.
The sparks grew as the clouds formed around Aslalo, the more he focused the more the sky crackled and broke. For the first time Aslalo started to let go and felt a power grow. A power he never felt before. The more Aslalo gave into this power the more he saw it. A dragon made of thunder. With a mighty roar the dragon swallowed him whole. Upon opening his eyes Aslalo was covered in armor resembling a dragon made of lightning.
Cole "Wow...that's so cool!"
Aslalo "We don't have much time. What's the plan?"
Cole "Use thunder god clap."
Aslalo "Chafer style pseudo sky god thunder dragon clap!"
Cole "Through flames I am reborn. Ash and dust is all that lays in my wake Heavenly phoenix drop."
Cole & Aslalo "Combination attack: Sky god; fire dragon clap!"
Some distance away Micheal was staring out of the window as a guard rushed into his office.
Guard "Sir! We are detecting a High spike in aether! What do you want us to do?"
Micheal "There really isn't much you could do now, well without getting everyone killed. Ugh the others are out on mission right now. The only one who could get here is gabrael...After the explosion go investigate. I will remain here for now."
As Michael gave his order Cole and Aslalo made contact with the ground causing an explosion the likes of which humanity hasn't seen. To minimize the damage Michael put a barrier around the explosion with a single snap.
Micheal "Oh brother, Just what do you have going on in that little brain of yours? No matter, I won't let you touch father."
Dusting herself off Naiomi walks out of a portal she opened in the nick of time with Jasmine falling out with singed clothes.
Cole "Aw shit...Guess he wasn't ready to use aether just yet? Passed out due to pain pussy?"
Aslalo "I'll take your head! I'm the king of the skies. Super duper dragon power! Yay! Aslalo, we are proud of you...Thanks mom..dad...Cole"
Cole "Weirdo. Naiomi, did you grab the uniforms?"
Naiomi "Yea, but I could only save two from the explosion...Cole…"
Cole "Yea, I noticed. There is less collateral damage than expected. It means we got the attention of exactly who I thought it would. Let's go before we are swarmed with bugs."
Naiomi nods her head in agreement as she snaps her fingers, dressing her and cole instantly in the guard uniforms. Cole put cuffs on Jasmine and Aslalo and the gang rushed out of the rubble just as the angels descended upon the destruction. Once they were far enough away Naiomi opened a portal to the ninetieth floor.
Cole "Why not just teleport to the top?"
Naiomi "I can only go where I can see or my past self has been before. This is my first time in the capitol and this is the furthest I've gotten in the tower. Besides this is the best place to be. You should move three feet to the right."
Just as Cole moved Micheal came crashing through the ceiling.
Micheal "Hey big bro. Ya know dad doesn't want to see you?"
Samael "Maybe not? But It's not like he has a choice in the matter."
Micheal "Give it up. You can't make him lov…"
Before Michael could finish his sentence Samael punched MIcheal into a wall.
Samael "Grab on we have two seconds."
Naiomi grabbed Samael and they flew through the holes Micheal made to the top floor.
God "That was faster than expected. I thought you'd help expose the government first, but it seems Samael your selfishness knows no bounds. Well this is just one of many meetings."
Samael "You and I both know what would've happened if I did help those addicts. As much as You want me to end this world. I refuse."
God "Whatever. What do you want now?"
Samael "The boy, He needs training. The type only a father could give."
God "Then train him? I don't see the issue…"
Samael "The BOY needs the training only a FATHER can give."
Sondi "You must mean me."
Samael "To think you can know everything but have no common sense."
Sondi "That's rude, Your father would probably be a better teacher."
Samael "I Agree. However he seems noncompliant."
Sondi "As a father myself I can understand his plight. Just a bit of respect is all he asks. I assume it's not too difficult for the likes of the potion of god right?"
Samael "UGH fine, pretty boy. Kneel and cover your face. Naiomi, be a dear and turn around with Jasmine? No peeking!"
Samael kneels down, brandishing his best set of wings his father gave him. A bright shining halo appeared above samael's head, the glow lit the entire room with a magnificent silver light. As if being poured straight from the foundry, platinum armor formed itself upon every exposed part of samael. As if to put on a show samael fluttered his wings spreading splashes of crimson and sunflower, Dashes of violet and black, with just the slightest touch of a silvery white shine only matched by the matt black wisps emanating from each feather.
Samael "Asslalo, Do you know how to dance?"
Aslalo "My mother taught me a thing or two."
Samael "Hopefully, you learn quickly. We are going to do something called a celestial waltz."
Aslalo "Who will play music."
Samael "Father, but you won't hear it, you'll feel it."
Aslalo "Um okay? Why not?"
Samael "That's the spirit! DANCE WITH ME!"
Samael grabbed onto Aslalos hands, pulling him into a wild spiral. As they danced Aslalo would accidentally step on Samael's foot or mess up and fall down. Frustration and anger filled Aslalo as they kept going. The more he fell the less he wanted to participate. A simple waltz was too difficult for him but Samael made not one misstep, not one body part was out of place, or even a fraction away from anything less than perfect. Aslalo stopped, not wanting to continue his attention turned towards Sondi.
Aslalo "What is with this charade? Why must we dance for you? I don't hear any music, nor is this dance a simple waltz."
Sondi "Samael? Who is this boy?"
Samael "Your kid's 'friend'. I think he's a failed replacement for James honestly but what do I know? He's like the rest of the humans here."
Sondi "Oh...I see. May I speak to Cole?"
Cole "Dad? You rang?"
Sondi "How many times must I tell you? I will get yelled at if you sneak in here?"
Cole "I had to. You aren't ever around when I need you, so i thought I would just come to you."
Sondi "I appreciate you wanting to spend time with me. However, I'm busy and i don't have time to play any games."
Cole "Neither did I. I need you to train me and my spoiled friend here."
Sondi "I must disagree. Let me guess, You are on a time crunch?"
Cole "YUP!"
Sondi "Had very little option?"
Cole "Uh-huh…"
Sondi "It was the only way?"
Cole "Yes…"
Sondi "Did it get hard?"
Cole "A bit...But! You'll help me and it'll be better. You've been there when I was weak before."
Sondi "You don't get it do you?"
Aslalo "Excuse me. I'm lost...Do you not understand? Cole, wouldn't be here for no reason."
Sondi "Oh? Tell me more?"
Aslalo "The school got taken over, Ms.Eve was nowhere to be found, and we weren't equipped to deal with what happened. Cole said you would help, so help. You must be able to do something, you work in the capitol."
Sondi "Kids...Say I did help. What good would that do? Would that change Cole running from his responsibilities? Would it lower your pride? Sure, it may solve the problem in the short term but really...What good will it do? Cole's flaky attitude will lead to another revolt and your pride won't let you admit you need help. You'd just be here in my office next week, crying help. Help."
Cole "I won't, I'll prove it!"
Sondi "How do you plan on doing that?"
Aslalo "Yes, how?"
Cole was stuck between a mountain and a grate canyon. His mind ablaze with millions of fruitless conversations, his heartbeat speeding up, his palms dripping from the sweat, he stammered onto his words. Cole's only thought was to ask the one who got him to this point. With a swift calming breath Cole focused his mind and steeled his nerves.
Cole "Samael, What do i say?"
Samael "Me? What could I possibly do? I'm tied up remember?"
Cole "The dance, teach it to me."
Samael "You want to know the celestial waltz?"
Cole "Yes! I felt it."
Samael "It? What was that feeling?"
Cole "It was a fire, I was alive and yet in control. It was warm and loving, almost like a hug from a dear friend or the feeling of a job well done."
Samael "Hmmm is that all?"
Cole "No, it was calm. Even though I felt it grow and dance within me."
Samael "It sounds like you already know it...Muscle memory never fades."
Cole snapped out of his daze a second after exhaling.
Cole "Aslalo and I will perform the celestial waltz."
Aslalo "Cole are you nuts? We don't have time for that."
Sondi "Nonsense. You have a month correct?"
Cole "Come on. You went along with me so far right? What's one more time?"
Aslalo "Ugh, I don't know how you keep making me do this! FINE! I'll follow your lead."
Cole "Naiomi, the barrier please."
Naiomi "On it. Space will bend to my will and Time will kneel before me, for I rule above these concepts. I am the one who weaves the fabric of space to hold the sands of time. I command all, the dominating force yesterday, now, and tomorrow. Chronosphere: temporal paradox. Cole, if you or I aren't careful we may fracture timespace in the bubble and that would be very bad."
Cole "How bad?"
Naiomi "An exploding stellar mass black hole bad."
Cole "Ah...Okay…bad."
Jasmine "Huh...Where am I? Cole is it time?"
Cole "Yes."
Jasmine "Drink, drink, drink your fill. Indulge in all things for your benefit, devour it all, Live to the fullest. Black art: Gluttinus healing. Jasmine, all set here."
With the barrier set up and ready, Cole assumed a fighting stance towards Aslalo. Feeling the energy Cole was putting out Aslalo matched Cole's stance. Aslalo felt sparks in his chest as if something was trying to be ignited within him. Aslalo donned his lighting armor as not to be out done by the beautiful equipment Cole wore. Sondi feeling the seriousness of the boys materialized a stunning embroidered gold harp. With one pluck of a string their dance began. Round and round the two went, like sloppy unrefined dancers they fought for supremacy of the dance. The music grew louder as the two gave it their all. As the music grew the two became more erratic trying to keep up, the dance became more violent, the beautiful warm glow of Cole's wings became a scorching wind, the swift, energetic, and elegant moves of Aslalo's body showed more imperfections, slowly growing to become sloppy, lethargic, and sluggish. Aslalo started to trip over his legs and fall again. He had almost given up and let everything he did up to this point mean nothing. It was nothing more than a waste of time to him anyway, the sparks that fueled him soon started to fizzle out. As aslalo fell, a warmth grew on his hand. It was Cole, grabbing him before he hit the ground and pulling him onto his feet. Aslalo smacked his hand away and continued to dance. The music didn't slow a single beat, rather it picked up pace and swelled even louder and faster than before. Soon Cole grew angry with Aslalo's constant disrespect everytime he attempted to help him.
Cole "What's your problem?"
Aslalo "Mine? You're embarrassing me. To be constantly helped is rather annoying."
Cole "So is a person who can't do simple dance moves."
Aslalo "I know how to dance, especially the waltz."
Cole "Oh so you always dance like you have a stick up your ass?"
Aslalo "It's not me, you don't know how to match the tempo and I take the blame for it."
Cole "Then stop trying to boss me around. You don't know the dance, but I have it being shown to me. Step by step. Follow my lead."
Aslalo begrudgingly dusted himself off and began to dance once more. The music, still going strong, the tempo never slowing. As the two danced on, the music seemed to restart from the beginning. Failure after failure the two danced, on never letting one failure stop them.
