[Would you like to choose 'warrior' as your designation?]
"yes" Jack replied inwardly. Immediately, the wordings written on the scroll which Jack couldn't understand started wiggling together as if it had come to life. Converging at the center of the scroll, it then shot forth with tremendous speed into the middle of Jack's brow.
Instinctively, Jack had already let go of the scroll and jumped back to evade it but how could he evade what had already happen. The wordings from the scroll then appeared all over Jack's entire body like tattoos which were all giving out a faint bronze glow.
But after a couple of minutes, the tattoos which were getting dimmer and dimmer over time was no longer visible. It had shrunk down into a microscopic level and steep into Jack's flesh, reaching his bones and engraving itself on them but it didn't stop there, rather it went further into subatomic level and engraved itself on his DNA.
However Jack who had no knowledge of this was encompassed in a strange layer of energy particles which kept on being absorbed by him. While in this state, his muscles kept expanding and contracting, his heart was also beating faster and faster at a strange rhythm while he felt as if a thousand hands were giving him a massage.
This went on for a couple of minutes before stopping. Jack immediately opened his eyes once it did and couldn't help but feel slightly drunk with power the very moment he felt the boundless energy now flowing through his veins.
Been unable to control his excitement, he threw a couple of punches. Bam! Bam! Bam! sounds of his fist blasting apart the air echoed through the entire sitting room.
[Congratulations! on becoming a warrior. Due to this, your warrior related attributes such as strength, constitution and stamina have undergone an increase of 0·5 points each]
[Congratulations! on becoming a warrior. Due to this, you have been awarded the opportunity to choose any single warrior related skill of your choice out of the following skills]
Two series of notifications sounded in Jack's mind forcefully dragging him off his high shoes and back into reality as a holographic interface carrying a long list of skills appeared in front of him.
The list which comprises of a lot of skills such as 'basic swordmanship', 'basic spearmanship', 'basic dagger mastery', 'Eagle eye', 'parry', 'stealth', 'fierce strike' and many more had made it difficult for Jack to make a choice.
Fortunately for him, earlier while surfing the internet, he had found out that skill such as 'basic swordmanship', 'basic dagger mastery' and a few others could be easily learned after slaying a couple of monsters so he crossed them off the list. 'Stealth', 'lock picking', 'precise shot' and a few others showed gray because they weren't warrior related which also helped narrow down his search.
After going through the entire skill list over and over again, Jack finally choose a skill called 'Reinforcement'. Instantly he felt his body heating up as he was once again encompassed in a familiar white layer of energy particles which Jack knew was called mana.
What followed next was pain, unbearable pain like none ever which caused Jack to lose consciousness. "so he ended up falling on the floor, I wonder what type of skill he had chosen that caused him to fall unconscious" said the landlady as she silently arrived beside Jack.
She had finished taking her bath for while now and was about approaching Jack when she saw him pull out the designation scroll. In order not to distract him or influence his decision, she had chosen to remain hidden and spy on everything up till now.
Staring at the unconscious Jack lying on the floor with her hands on her chin, she became lost in thought. If anyone was privilege to catch a glimpse of her current facial expression, he or she will notice that the inexperienced looks and smile she always kept were nowhere to be found but rather have been replaced by a sharp and experienced one.
"I hope my intuition will always remain right" she finally said after a sigh as easily pick up the unconscious Jack and placed on the sofa before heading into the kitchen.
"what an appetizing aroma" thought Jack as he slowly regains consciousness, although he found it a little surprising to wake up on the sofa, he didn't think too much about it as he instead followed the aroma which had knocked him awake all the way to the kitchen where his eyes landed on the figure of a lady wearing a short night gown and apron.
Looking at her two slim long legs, her full round ass that the night gown couldn't even fully cover and her silky pitch black hair which seems to be giving off a faint glow, Jack couldn't help but mutter "beautiful".
The landlady who was able to hear Jack's absent minded praise thanks to high perception attribute but help but go stiff for a couple of seconds as she could feel her cheeks flush red.
cough* cough* cough*
Jack faked a dry cough to Chase away the awkwardness in the air but saying "Thanks a lot landlady for offering me a place to spend the night, I really appreciate it". "Enough with the landlady thing, I have a name for your information and its Lilth, if you really appreciate it, start calling me by it". Lilth instantly berated Jack.
"hahaha, my bad, thanks a lot Lilth" Jack laughed as he quickly apologised without second thought. "You... your welcome" lilth replied back in a voice so low jack almost had difficulties hearing. "well, just relax in the dinning room, dinner is almost ready" lilth suddenly added in a normal tone.
Watching the departing figure of Jack, Lilth kept scolding herself inwardly "gosh, what's wrong with me, why did I feel both happy and nervous all of a sudden after hearing Jack call my name". Rubbing both hands on her cheeks simultaneously she added "get yourself together, your much older than him so act matured"
Meanwhile Jack who no knowledge of what was going on in the young lady's head had already sat himself down in the dinning table and brought up his status window.
