Chapter 81 - Yin Xi

Yin Xi was the princess of the Moondance Wolf tribe, and an acclaimed Silver Moondance Wolf, the noblest of the Moondance Wolf bloodline. With her talent, she might even surpass her mother if she was lucky.

But all of a sudden this horrible little tiger came into her life.

It was no surprise she didn't like him. When he was smaller than he was now, she had noticed an off putting scent, that she followed up a tree.

When she attacked it, he had ambushed and attacked her neck. If her cultivation wasn't higher and she didn't have the special skills of a Silver Moondance Wolf, she might've died to a little runt that didn't even know what cultivation was back then. That would be extremely shameful.

When she repelled him, and he was sent flying while poisoned and bleeding, she thought that was the end of it, and buried the incident in the back of her mind.

But the he actually mysteriously showed up in the middle of the Moondance Dens mysteriously. She realized it was only because he had entered her mother's absolute domain that he was discovered. Even the next strongest, the Black Moondance Wolves, hadn't noticed him at all.

She had encouraged her mother to slaughter him, and that he was the one that caused the wound she told her about.

But instead of capital punishment, her mother ended up recruiting him, and then sent her as his escort!

To be honest, she was rather curious about human territory, as she had seldom left the vicinities of their Moondance Wolf Territory.

But then she was left behind at an impossible speed. She hurried to keep up,but was discovered by a Night Stalk Panther from the neighboring territory. It was only then that she realized she had left the safety of her mother's territory and had entered an enemy territory. Without thinking, she ran away, trying to follow the rude little tiger that had left her in the dust.

After being rescued, they had just found a safe place to rest when...

"I will train you. Listen to everything I say. No questions. No mistakes."

Yin Xi let out an audible groan, and the rude little tiger bopped her on the snout. She instantly covered her nose in indignantly.

"Silence. The basic of basics. Make minimum noise unless you wish to be caught." Obviously the most important part of stealth, was not making any noise. Being out of sight was one thing, but it was not as important as being quiet.

Eyes can see the front, but ears can hear in all directions. If you're quiet enough, even if you're in plain sight, you might not be discoveredZ and actually overlooked. If your presence was hidden extremely well but you make a noise with every movement, you'll be found instantly.

"Now show me what you're capable of first."

Yin Xi harrumphed and turned away. She was unwilling to acknowledge him as one worthy enough to teach her. She also didn't like how he was able to learn the thought transmission skill. Now his voice was flowing into her head whether she liked it or not. And she did not.

She was only putting up with him because it was her mother's order, she even wondered if she could find the chance to kill him, but he was just too quick in the dark forest.

"If you don't want me to teach you, then show me you don't need to be taught. Now let's move quickly, I wish to arrive before dawn."

He was extremely bossy. This upset her. No one told her what to do except her mother.

She confidently moved carefully through the brush, making minimal noise as she stalked through the woods. She was a wolf. She was raised in these forests, how could she be unfamiliar with moving through it.

"Too slow. Move faster." And he was still complaining.

Why was he so polite to her mother? Though she knew he respected her mother for her strength, she couldn't help feeling indignant.

She moved faster. Her steps were faster, and she was careful, but her quick movements still caused some inevitable rustling in the brush.

"Too noisy. Do you want to be caught?" Do you want your butt kicked? Was what she thought, but he couldn't understand her words whatsoever, and she couldn't exactly charade her intent to him like before.

"Why are you silver anyway? Shouldn't something so bright at night be a walking target? Back in my day your species would be extinct!" For some reason he spoke like an old man even though he was still a runt a third her size.

"How dare you insult the noble Silver Moondance Wolf bloodline!" She growled at him with hostility. His was the silver fur she was proud of. Her mother had the same fur. Wasn't insulting it, insulting her mother? He really had the audacity to insult her mother behind her back!

He tilted his head in confusion, Yin Xi was only more furious when he couldn't understand her complaints.

She was about to growl at him more when his paw suddenly landed on her head and pushed her down.

Wings abruptly spread from his back and lied flat over her body, partially covering her silver body.

"Hey! What are you-!"

"Silence! Listen."

An unspeakable authority rang from his words as she closed her mouth. She could now here faint footsteps from a distance away. This rude little tiger could actually notice it from so far?

Eventually a panther waded through the brush with little to no noise. A red panther.

The Crimson Night Stalk Panther. These were on the same level of her Tribe's Black Moondance Wolves. They were usually somewhere in the core realms, she knew they were not it's match. It must've had that the Moondance Wolves' princess had stumbled into their territory, and was looking for her to use against her mother.

She let out the breath she was holding when it left.

"Follow." The ride little tiger gave a command and retracted his wings, he proceeded to sink into the darkness.

Without thinking too much, she decided it was safer to follow him for now.
