Tyrant emerged to see a familiar yet unfamiliar dark sky. It was the same aside from an orb of pale light hovering in the sky, as well as dozens of pieces of glitter scattered amongst it.
It resembled a migration of light bugs, large insects that flowed in the night that formed large packs, and never lost each other due to the lights, from the abyss.
This was more brilliant though, like the pure eyes of children when they laughed. He couldn't remember being subjected to those feelings personally though.
He couldn't believe that he almost lost himself in the sight. When he pulled himself together, he vigilantly observed his surroundings.
He saw strange field of vegetation that stretched for miles, and was a color he had never seen before. Although, the only colors he was familiar with were black, gray, white, and red. Those were the only colors of the abyss.
The vegetation came in many sizes and forms, it fascinated Tyrant, as the plants in the abyss were scrawny and scarce in comparison. No beast depended on those plants alone.
The ground too was littered with straw like plants in the same color, it reminded Tyrant of the fur on ones back. Was this the earth's fur? The earth in the abyss seemed to have been hard leather or scales then.
It wasn't until now that he suddenly compared the land to a living creature, as all they needed back then was each other to prey on, the earth was just a residency, still of little worth as abyssals constantly moved in search of prey.
He suddenly saw tiny shelled organisms of many kinds lurking in the fur of the earth, he saw similar beasts in the abyss, but they were far larger and more threatening. He also saw hairless and scaleless, strange, serpent like creatures squirming in the soft soil. They had no limbs nor eyes, or distinctive features of any kind aside from being long and fleshy. They slightly resembled the sand serpents that lie in wait to ambush prey in the Abyssal deserts in that they burrowed in the earth and had no eyes, except the sand serpents had rows of sharp teeth and durable scales. Very different from this weak looking creature.
It was only now that he noticed these things because he was far closer to the ground than he should've. He had fully emerged from the earth and stood proudly to take in the sights, but the strange vegetation reached his chin and the grains of earth seemed bigger than they should've.
He took a few steps and noticed that the distance he traveled with each step was pitiful, and finally noticed that his limbs were noticeably short. He looked toward his legs and found that the distance from his paw to his knee was many times shorter than what he was used to, and his paws were small and squishy, unlike the rough calluses that he was used to.
This was strange, they resembled the limbs of his children, it was as if he was a child himself...
It then hit him that he indeed had the physique of a child, merely around 20 centimeters tall, and about 35 long, not including his tail. He found his leathery wings were a few centimeters long each as well, hardly enough to fly. His tails too, had fallen to only one and, while still scaled, could only extend to 30 centimeters at most at most.
He realized that he was now incomparably weak compared to his peak, as how could this physique possibly have much strength in it.
He realized he could do nothing aside from increase his vigilance and explore. He had to at least find a water source as well as suitable prey.
He saw, not far in the distance, was a large cluster of trees that were very different from the ones on the abyss. Trees in the abyss always grew alone, were skinny, had scarce foliage, grew only in battlefields, and only birthed 2 or 3 fruits at most. In comparison, these trees were plentiful, had foliage thick enough to make a shelter, had many fruits, and had no visible corpses lying around at first glance.
He decided to enter this cluster, as vegetation grew in places with nutrients, which came with water and life, which meant prey and a water source.

He wandered the trees for a short while before quickly noticing the sound of flowing water. He smelled it too, and it smelled clean, purer than any water he had drunk before.
He followed the sound to find a stream. It flowed smoothly, and was clear like the eyes of a naive soul. He noticed life in the water, fish. These fish were pitifully small, fat smaller than what he was used to. He pierced one with his claws, they were far too slow compared to his reflexes, that were the only things that hadn't regressed aside from his senses, instincts, and experience.
He noticed that it died not long after leaving the water, how weak. He noticed they had no teeth, how were they supposed to prey on other fish, Tyrant wondered.
He then gutted the fish, looking for signs of any poison glands or venomous sacs, he did not want to risk dying of poison as his current body was far weaker than before.
He found it safe, and ate it. It tasted strangely fresh, weak, and tender, different from Abyssal fish who's muscles were toughened with competition. He couldn't get enough.
He ate many of the small fishes, before hearing a rustle.
Out of the brush to drink from the stream as well, came a furred creature he had never seen before. It had long ears, developed legs, short tail, red eyes, and large teeth. The strange thing was that it's teeth was flat, and did not seem to be used to tear flesh, it was very odd to Tyrant.
He decided to hunt it. This would be his first prey in this new world.
