"Wake up mommy!" Milani groaned waking up from her nap. "Mhm what?" She growled pulling the blanket back over her head. "It's almost time for you to go to work." Romeo said shaking his mother. "Okay, okay I'm up," she replied sitting up on the bed. "What time is it?" She asked still sluggish. "It's six," Milani jumped up from her bed and ran to her bathroom. "Where's your mischievous sister at? She was supposed to wake me up an hour ago." Milani asked her son as she brushed her teeth. "Um she is in the kitchen trying to find leftover cake to eat." Romeo replied to his mother. Milani glared at her reflection. Of course, that fat-ass would be eating she thought to herself.
"Alright I'll be back I have to take a shower, so just call Alana up here and watch tv. Also, do not under any circumstances go downstairs or answer the door if the bell rings okay?" After her shower Milani walked out the room and dressed in an elegant black gown. The gown was backless and draped all the way to the ground beneath her feet. "Mommy you look so pretty!" Alana yelled disturbing Romeo from his book. "Yeah mommy you look nice." Romeo said closing his book. "Thank you, my prince and princess," Milani replied kissing their cheeks. "You guys want to come work with mommy today?" Their mother asked them as she searched for black-and-white attire for her children. "yes!" Alana yelled whereas romeo nodded in agreement.
Milani picked out their outfits from her closet and handed it to them. "Perfect, since I already bathed you guys all you have to do is put these matching clothes on and behave the rest of the night okay?" Her twins nodded and dressed themselves into their clothing while their mother touched up on her makeup. "Are my little munchkins done yet?" Milani shouted from the bathroom. They walked into the bathroom greeting their mother. "Yup." Romeo and Alana replied. "Well look at you guys, looking so handsome and beautiful. How adorable, I could just eat you both up!" Milani said squeezing her kids faces. "Mommy stop it," they giggled.
"Okay, I'll stop you guys are just so cute." Milani said picking up her handbag. "Alright are you guys ready to go? Do you guys want juice here or when we get to mommy's restaurant? And how about your favorite animal crackers, should I pack them?" Their mom asked walking into the kitchen. "I'm so nervous, I need a cupcake." She said taking out a carton of cupcakes she baked from her pantry. "Here have some cupcake too," The mother offered her children as she handed them two chocolate cupcakes. "I still don't know why you guys love chocolate so much," Milani said in distaste. Alana giggled and ate her cupcake. "Because its good mommy." Yeah right Milani thought rolling her eyes as she picked up her keys. "Let's go."
Milani drove to the restaurant before they opened and by the time she reached the door her palms were sweating. "Mommy you'll be fine," Romeo reassured his mom. "You're right, I don't know why I'm so jittery. Perhaps because it's a bigger crowd than the first time I sang," said Milani. "I need both of your help, you guys have to get on stage with me and dance with me. You'll have to slow dance to the song I will sing. Are you two going to help me?"
"Yes!" They said ecstatically. Their mom glanced down at them and grinned. She had enrolled them into dancing classes ever since they could walk and she knew how happy they would be to dance. "You guys are way too enthusiastic, meanwhile I'm beyond nervous." Milani smiled opening the restaurant door. "Alana I want to lead when you dance with me." Romeo smiled at his little sister. "Okay big brother," Alana responded hugging her brother.
They stepped into the restaurant instantly greeted by Milani's employees. "Good evening ma'am, we set everything up for the doors to be opened at eight."
"Great job everyone!" Milani smiled back at her employees. "But please I will say it again, just call me Milani. We're all family here." Milani stated firmly. "And that's final no if and or buts." Her employees nodded leading her to the back stage. "Is everything prep? Is the emergency love band here yet?" Milani asked one of her employees she thought of as a close friend. "Yes, everything is set, you don't have to worry so much." Jax replied reassuring his boss she had nothing to worry about.
"By the way, I never really got to thank you for hiring me to work in your restaurant." Jax smiles at Milani before opening the staff door for her. "It's no problem at all, you helped me with my shifts when I was pregnant and couldn't do much." Romeo and Alana walked into the staff room after Milani and Jax and sat down on the chairs. "No, seriously Milani I'm grateful for your kindness. They fired me for not having much experience but you hired me with no problem." Jax smiled as her as if she was his savior.
"It's eight and the customers are filling in," the two turned around interrupted by one of the hosts. "Alright it's show time," taking her children's hands Milani walked out the staff room.
To say she was nervous would be an understatement. Milani felt like if she didn't perform well today she would ruin her restaurants image. "Mommy you got this!" Alana and Romeo winked giving their mother two thumbs up.
"Aww I love you guys," Milani replied hugging her children. God sent Milan more than she could have ask for. She was truly blessed with her two angels.
After the trio were done hugging each other, Milani drew a deep breath then walked onto the stage. The woman sat on a silk black chair that was placed in front of everyone.
"Hello everyone, I hope you all are having a magnificent time. I'm the owner of this restaurant and today I'll be preforming for you all."
Lights dimmed around Milani and she watched as her two kids got into formation. "I know you were all expecting something else but unfortunately something came up and plans had to be altered. I will try my utter best to make up for it." The emergency band gathered behind her and started playing.
At last my love has come along
My lonely days are over and life is like a song, oh yeah
At last the skies above are blue
My heart was wrapped up clover the night I looked at you
I found a dream that I could speak to
A dream that I can call my own
I found a thrill to press my cheek to
A thrill I've never known, oh yeah
You smiled, you smiled oh and then the spell was cast
And here we are in Heaven
For you are mine at last
The audience, composed of staff and customers, praised her with the applause. "That was great Milani, you literally sing like an angel." Jax complimented Milani as she walked off the stage. "Thank you so much," She thanked Jax before crouching in front of her babies. "You guys were great, when we go home I'll treat you both for dancing so well." Milani declared, motioning toward her kids and hugging them.
"Milani?" A voice called from behind her. She froze immediately recognizing that voice. Why now? And here of all places. She reflected in her head. Milani calmly spun around and met face to face with the person who called out her name.
"Caesar"
