Ian put the woman on stature without any cooperation of staff, pushed her to the only room available down the corridor to start the resuscitation process and examining the wound on her head.. As this wasn't a big hospital so different test facilities weren't available to determine the extent of concussion or other internal bleeding. All he could do was to give her basic aid and tending the wounds and waiting for the patient to respond or deteriorate..
This scene was seen by Jenny, a teen working as a volunteer, she badly wanted to help Dr. Ian but afraid of the going against the staff, as everyone is from this Island except for Dr. Ian Norfolk, who got transferred here recently. There's a rumor that he offended a big shot and as a result he got demoted and transferred here without any credits. In general, no one liked Dr. Ian Norfolk because of his air of superiority and for being too demanding, he wants everyone to be on foot dutifully and working vigilently. On contrary, all this made Dr. Ian Norfolk, more likeable, an idol for Jenny, she wants to be as compassionate as Dr. Ian. For her, he's the perfect man of her dreams, with of height of 187cm, pale complextion, sharp features and lean built, because everyone other here on this island is short, tan and bulky or muscular. She found this to be a good chance to start a chat with Dr. Ian, with twinkling eyes she sneaked out to help him.
Dr Ian, was preparing to stitch the wound
on the lady's head, luckily it was a scalp wound only, though not a small one but could be managed.. As for as concussion or any other internal bleeding episode, he could only pray.
"Hi, Dr Norfolk, do you need help??"
He heard a cheery voice from behind and turned, there he saw a tan, petite, curvy girl, with big brown shiny eyes staring wide at him.
He said, "Who are you? Who allowed you to enter here?"
Jenny embarrassedly answered, "I am working as a volunteer here. I have permission letter. I was wondering, do you need any help?"
He nodded only and letting her observe.
Jenny got more embarrassed by his cold and unfriendly attitude, she was flabbergasted that he don't know her, all the male staff pay her attention due her attractive body and young age. And him, he didn't even bother to ask her name out of politeness.. She shook all those thoughts away and asked,
"Can I check her body for any other injury while you're stitching wound on her head?"
He again nodded only.
She smiled and thought, "at least he let me stay here with him" and enthusiasticaly went to check the female body. She was astonished to find out the woman is very thin but with exceptionally good features, sharp nose, good height and fair complexion, from one look she could tell this woman doesn't belong to this Island despite being haggard and pale. She checked her limbs and found out she's got her right arm fractured and there were abrasions on body. She reported that to Dr. Ian, who was putting bandage on pretty patient's head.
He immediately came to check the patient's other wounds. Before he was hesitant to check other wounds but now with this volunteer present here, he got more confident and started examining the patient.
During his examination, he found patient's lips exceptionally greenish blue along with small needle holes on her arms, seems like she was being drugged and there were marks on her wrists and ankles which made it obvious she was being tied down, along with right arm fractured which the volunteer girl mentioned, that wasn't a compund fractures, so he started aligning the bones and putting plaster to keep it straight. After 2 hours of resuscitation and monitoring, the patient pulse was maintaining, she was coming out of shock..
He felt relieved and found the woman to be very lucky despite her circumstances of being abducted, drugged and then becoming a victim of road traffic accident, at least she was found by him, the most competent surgeon here in this island. But this thought made him more depressed he couldnt do any CT or MRI to get to know the extent of her head injury.
"Damn this hospital and Dr. Fielder, his superior for demoting him" he thought frustadely. To him, a doctor without basic facilities is useless despite his competency..

This hospital or dispensary is a old building consisting of 5 rooms and very basic level of health facilities, usually patients present here with diseases like diarrhoea, fever, stomachache or boils or abscess, like no emergency at all, that's the reason of his depression, he, a qualified, competent surgeon, member of Country Armed forces, was treating here diarrhoea and boils. He wondered why it's the first time he got a RTA here in last 2 months. Then he realised he has very little knowledge of this island and he being the nerd never bothered to have a friend or a chat with anyone local here to ask about it..
