Chapter 66 - Schedule

Right now I'm in the principal's office, she's sitting behind her desk and there's a weird cylindrical object on her desk...Well, that doesn't matter right now. The week came and went with me practicing only my magic reinforcement, my fire, wind. I also gave water and earth a little try inside the training room but only water worked well, as for earth not so much, looks like 3 is the limit for me.

All I did this last week was: train my magic and go to the library in between magic recovering. I did this a total of 3-4 times a day. I already feel some improvements in my magic output and control as well as my knowledge of the realms and magic system.

Well, I'll get into that later. Finally, I looked over the dress code and it seems to be fine to wear a jacket over your uniform so I'm good.

Now, onto the main issue is why I was called to the principal's office today on the first day of school. She said it was for me to get "oriented." But I have no idea what the hell that means so I'm here without knowing what she's going to do.

"Long time no see Principal Robinson."

"Hello, I see that you finally found a jacket and that you took the liberty to wear it over your school uniform."

"There are no rules against jackets. So, what am I here for?"

"How much do you know about the schedules."

"From 7:30 to 10:30, regular classes. From 10:30 to 12:30, magical theory classes and from 12:30 to 5:00, special classes."

"Alright, that saves me time explaining. So, here is your schedule."

"Waiting till the last possible moment to give it to me, thank you for your benevolence, Principal Robinson."

She sighs

"It was hard to put this together due to your circumstances."

"Shouldn't putting me in the weakest class been enough?"

"That may be, and I would've given you this earlier if it wasn't for what you've done these last couple of days and the interest you spiked among the teachers."

"So the phone does track what we do huh."

"Yes, and honestly, you are a bit too much. On this last week, you went to the training an average of 3 times a day, each session anywhere between 2-3 hours. to the library, you went on average 7 hours a day. If we assume you did the high end of what I said then you slept close to 6 hours a day. And yet you didn't show any sign of fatigue then nor now, it's honestly quite surprising."

"The determination to make the most out of those 5 rule breaks came out, that's all."

She sighs.

"I'm no idiot, I can infer two things. One, your magic recovery rate is a couple of times faster than any other student we have by far, why is that?"

"It's a trade secret."

She looks at me with disdain.

"I won't pry on that regard too much, my guess is that you can recover your mana anywhere between 2-3 hours. Anyway, the second thing that I can guess is that you have some sort of fatigue relieving magic, is that correct?"

I guess they are no joke if they tried researching more then they'd probably know way more than now or maybe they do and don't reveal it.

"It seems so."

"Because of that, the determining of your schedule was slowed down, but taking that into account, this is your schedule"

(Author's note: You don't have to read the schedule, it's just a way to set things straight for me.)

This is, excessive. Every single day I'm required to train elements I'm weak with, and in special classes to boot. Is the principal stupid or something? I need to find an excuse to get out of so many classes.

"Principal Robinson, this is excessive as hell. How am I supposed to... duel with other people if I am this exhausted magically."

"You weren't going to duel anyone anyways."

"Tch...This is still excessive though. Why do I have both beginner level classes and special classes."

"Well, as I said before, some of the teachers took an interest in what this deca-elemental is all about so they decided to enlist you in their classes."

"That's so one-sided"

"That's all there is to it. Also, I'm sure that this also aligns with your goals."

"...Do explain."

"I know you're a clever guy, so I know that you won't start moving until you feel you're strong enough to move. Don't you think having this excessive schedule aligns with your objective?"

...I guess that may be true, having a teacher supervise my training would definitely boost my training speed a couple of times over... Shit, I guess this excessive schedule may be the fastest way to improve. I was planning to have an excessive schedule, to begin with, so might as well.

I sigh.

"Fuck you, I understand."

"Did you just curse at the principal?!"

"There's no rule against cursing you out, and you deserve that for giving a schedule that would be impossible for most people. I mean, who the hell thinks of putting someone new to magic in a special class."

"...I can't disagree with that. Before we go to see your classmates I'll have to administer an injection "

So the cylindrical-shaped thing is an injection?

"What for?"

"Let me explain, this is a specially made product for magic soldiers. What it does is that it lets you understand all the major languages that we have discovered in the realms and within our realm."

"That sounds like too fortunate of a vaccine to take."

"Well, it exists."

She could technically just command me to take it if she does it more than 5 times and I refuse all those five times there's a good possibility I'll get a mark. I sigh.

"Just get this over with," I say as I extend my arm.

"Thanks for your cooperation, but this is administered at the neck, not the arm."

"That sounds way more suspicious, I get the feeling it's some sort of tracking device."

"Don't worry, we already have your phone for that."

"Touché."

I turn around and show her my neck. She presses the object against my next and the next moment I feel the sharp pain. Almost as if a couple of needles hit me at once in the back of the neck. She put the syringe back, and I massage my neck.

"Fuck, that hurt."

"Good to know, so, want to meet your new classmates?"

I check my body, whatever she injected is going straight to my brain. I don't sense anything metallic nor anything else besides whatever fluid she injected. I'm good, I guess.

"No, I don't want to but I guess I"ll have to."

She stands up and starts walking out, I follow behind her.

"Anti-social, are you now?"

"Very much so, and I'll keep it that way until I'm outta here."

"...Won't you feel lonely like that?"

"The last time I felt lonely I ended up tricked and halfdead. So I think I won't feel lonely maintaining my distance from everyone else and I'll keep it that way."

"...You know, not everyone is like Argus, there could also be good people around school to interact with."

I couldn't care less about that.

"Maybe there is, maybe there isn't. But I don't care whether that's the case or not."

"..."

The rest of the trip to the middle school was silent with me following behind the principal. We arrived at the middle school and we were finally in front of room 103. I stood there not knowing that when I crossed the door it would be the end of my old life and the beginning of my new encounters.
