Chapter 6 - Notes

Jennie's POV

"Jennie." Mrs. Park called me out, looking directly at me. "Can you deliver this notes to Vincent's house?" I give her a confused look. I thought the dean expelled him. Maybe I was wrong. Perhaps the dean had a good heart after all.

I simply nodded at her.

"My husband, the dean, decided not to expel him yesterday but he will suspend him for weeks. He'll be needing these notes to cope up with the lessons he'll miss."

"Thank goodness." I wisphered to myself. What a relief! I wouldn't know what to feel if the dean didn't changed his mind.

"Here's the address." She handed me a scrap of paper with Vincent's address on it. It's the book store's address. "Thank you Jennie." She added before she leave.

On my way home, I stopped by to the book store to deliver the notes Mrs. Park had given me. Only to find out that He wasn't there at all.

"Hi. I am looking for Vincent Kim." I said to the old man in the counter. He was looking at a Japanese Idol magazine but then he quickly closed it once he noticed me.

"and you are?" He looked at me, startled.

"Vincent's shoolmate."

"He's not home yet." The old man said.

"Do you know where he is?"

"I'm not sure," The old man stroke his chin. "but he was wearing his uniform when he left. Didn't you see him in school?" He asked. A confused look came over my face as I thought about his statement. This old man have really no idea that Vincent almost got expelled.

I shook my head and answered,

"I didn't know. I didn't see him after school." Damn. I can't believed I just lied like that. If I were Pinocchio, my nose would be five feet long. "By the way my adviser wants to give this to Vincent." I put down the notes to the counter and went out of the book store.

I decided to walk home. The sun hasn't gone down yet and the book store is within walking distance from our house. Then all of a sudden someone pulled me into a dark alley. It all happened so fast and I was so shocked.

"Don't make a sound." The unknown guy whispered. My arms were pinned to my sides. His right arm wrapped around me and his left left hand covered my mouth, preventing me to speak. "It's me, Vincent." He said then eventually let go of me.

"What in the world do you think you were doing?" I pushed him hard against the wall. He was insane. I almost passed out for nothing.

"I just wanna talk to you." he answered.

"Whatever you wanna say, I can hear it just fine from there. You don't need to pull me here."

"Sorry. I was just about to go inside the shop when I saw you talking to my uncle. He doesn't know that I was expelled. He thinks that I am still attending school."

"But you weren't expelled, you were only suspended for weeks. The dean changed his mind, that's why I brought you some notes that Mrs. Park gave me." He doesn't look surprised.

"That teacher, she always worry about me even though were not even related." He said. "By the way did you tell him that I got suspended?"

I shook my head. "Not even once." I know Vincent will be mad at me if I told the truth to that old man, I mean his uncle.

"Thanks." Smiling coyly, he scratches behind his ear and say, "Do you wanna hangout sometime? like today or maybe tomorrow? Like after school?"

"Sorry but-."

"Sorry?!" He said in an angry tone as he leans forward. I took a few steps backward until I was against the wall and could withdraw no further. Eottoke? I whisphered to myself after I feel a stab of panic. His face was too close. Is he going to kiss me? I think he's going to kiss me.Now. Any second. But we only just met yesterday.

I closed my eyes to try to block out any panicky thoughts. I've never been kissed before and if he going to kiss me, Vincent will be my first kiss. "You thought I was going to kiss you? didn't you?" He broke into laughter.

"Of course not!"

"Meet me at the karaoke bar at 7PM." Those were his last words before he went inside the book store.
