"Where are we going?" she questioned, looking out of the window.
"I'll be taking you to my place now. You wouldn't be disturbed by anyone there," he replied.
Staying over at Min Soobin's place sounded weird to Miyeon, and she wondered why would he be taking the effort to bring her— who he treated like a stranger— to his mansion.
"No, there is no need for that; you can just drop me off over at my friend's," Miyeon said, forcing out a smile.
Fighting with Min Taejoon and being at an awkward situation with Min Soobin most definitely did not sound like an pleasant idea to her.
"It's not safe there. There was once a celebrity who got into a premeditated accident for getting into a scandal with Taejoon," Soobin verbalised.
If an celebrity can get into an accident, then for someone defenceless like her, it would be murder with her body chopped into pieces and thrown into Han river.
Thoughts of it bought shivers down Miyeon's back and made her regret approaching Taejoon in the first place. She should have had better self-control and should not have let herself get provoked by him. The only thing she could do now is regret.
"What are you imagining about?" Soobin asked, staring at the trembling girl.
Miyeon wasn't someone who stood out in the crowd with her appearance, qualifications, or temperament. Nevertheless, something about the girl call his attention.
There was a familiar warmth about the girl that made Soobin subconsciously crave for her presence more, and although it was indecent for him to do seeing that he's engaged, the temptation is too hard to ignore.
Nonetheless, he was smart enough to not follow these feelings. In his field, those who pursued them lose everything gradually since they turn out to be one's weakness.
Lust and romantic love are two emotions that result in downfall; Soobin had seen it all. Many of his acquaintances lost everything just because of these two.
"Which one sounds better— getting chopped up and thrown into the Han river or getting roasted and fed to the dogs?" Miyeon asked— herself surprised by how casually she spoke to him. The awkward atmosphere between two of them disappeared; it was exactly like back on those days.

"Soobin, save me. After my English grade this time, I'll either end up on the streets or be slave to that Bohyun for forever," Miyeon stated, showing Soobin the ten out of one hundred on her English paper.
Soobin let out a chuckle.
"Which one sounds better? Should I mention these to my father before he does to me?" Miyeon asked— anxiousness noticeable in her tone.
Pinching her nose slightly, Soobin said, "You're being silly. You received the second position on all other subjects, so your father will overlook this."
Imitating a manly tone, Miyeon mimicked, "Miyeon, if you dare to get any mark less than ninety five, you'll suffer terrible consequences. You should be grateful that I'm raising you."
"That's what he said. I don't get the discrimination. That Bohyun barely gets five, and he's totally proud of her. Only idiots praise idiots. Will you take me in if I'm homeless? Then again, that Taejoon will torture me," she spoke out, staring at him with a pout before letting out a sigh.
Patting her hair, Soobin smiled and verbalised, "I'll take you as my pet cat."
"I'm too smart to be your cat." Miyeon displayed her tongue to Soobin.

"You're being silly."
His words caused her eyes to widen before a laugh escaped from her mouth. Funnily enough, certain words of his remained same as well.
"Is there anything funny?" he questioned.
"That's what that jerk said to me before too," she stated.
Seeing that he had fallen silent, she bit on her tongue, realizing that she must have offended him, and, coughing, she vocalised, "That's not what I mean. You are definitely better than him. It's just that this sentence was similar as his that I was taken aback."
'If you're not my source of income, do you think I would have used such sweet words on you? Tch!'
"This is the mansion," he said.
The car entered through the gates of a huge mansion. The exterior of the mansion was extravagantly decorated with a large fountain in front of it. One could easily that hefty sums of money was spent in order to build this, and Miyeon being allowed to spend her time in that mansion as a guest was a fortune truly.
