Chapter 15 - The Grimoire's Call

The vast and ancient library of the Ryudan Academy hummed with the quiet whispers of a thousand tales and secrets. Kaiser, his curiosity piqued like never before, continued his exploration through the labyrinth of books and scrolls. Seraphina had to take her leave for a noble family obligation, leaving Kaiser alone with the echoing stillness of the library.

He wandered through the aisles, his fingers brushing against the spines of countless tomes, each holding mysteries and knowledge of the arcane. As he delved deeper, a particular book caught his eye. It was an unassuming, almost mundane-looking book titled "Grimoire of the Primordial Elements." Its cover was worn, and the title was etched in faded gold letters.

Intrigued, Kaiser opened the grimoire. The pages whispered as they turned, revealing themselves to be more than what the cover suggested. The book detailed a progression of elemental spells, categorized from novice to master level. Kaiser's eyes sparkled with excitement. 'This could be my guide to forming the first magic circle,' he thought.

He settled into a secluded corner, the grimoire open in front of him. The first section was titled 'Novice Spells.' Kaiser murmured to himself, "Whispering Breeze... Ember Touch... simple yet foundational. I must master these to start forming my magic circle."

As he read through the descriptions, he practised the hand movements and incantations softly. "Ripple Wave... Stone Shift...," he recited, visualizing the flow of magic through his body, aligning with the elements.

Hours passed, and Kaiser found himself deeply engrossed in the novice section, practising each spell with growing confidence. "Herbal Growth... this should be interesting," he whispered, focusing his energy as the book instructed. To his amazement, a small plant on the nearby windowsill began to respond, its leaves unfurling slightly more.

A soft chuckle escaped his lips. "I'm actually doing it," Kaiser exclaimed quietly, a sense of achievement washing over him. He realized that mastering these spells was not just about reciting incantations; it was about connecting with the elemental forces, understanding them, and bending them to his will.

As the moon rose high, casting a silver glow through the library windows, Kaiser continued his practice. 'I'm on the path to my first magic circle,' he thought determinedly. 'Each spell is a step closer to understanding the mysteries of magic.'
