The woods are impeccable. Clean cut branches and whispy leaves blowing along with a gentle breeze. Little birds singing praises and chasing each other but only for fun. I admire the scene, so peaceful. Providing everything you would need: Food, protection, shelter and thrill. We didn't have forests like this back in Haydren. Everything was clean so the light's capacity would be at its highest. The clothes were white, the homes were white, the shops were white all to praise the power of the sun. I hated it. In my gut, there would be this overwhelming fear that too much light can make you blind to the truth.
---------------------------
I reach the clearing, which is basically a short cliff with a grand natural staircase leading down to the lake. The lake in view but weirdly enough it was white. The water was thriving in the sun glistening as it's waves were twinkling almost as if it were carrying burried treasure. Heavenly. No animals came to take a drink from it. They openly avoided it. (this must be a sacred lake) I thought to myself. And I wait. I wait for her. Who knows if she will show. The sun is starting to set over the horizon. How long can I wait before someone notices I'm missing? A silhouette of a woman can into view. I knew it anywhere. She came.
--------------------------------------
"We agreed not to see eachother till we both figured out what we wanted." She said slightly pissed off. All I could do was smirk at her face, she even made psyco look sexy.
"No that's what you agreed, I told you what I wanted." I said as she stood challenging me, emotionally restraining herself from accepting my open declaration of love.
"I know what you what.." she said looking down, god her beauty was radiant when she became shy around me. The most confident woman is lost and replaced by a woman who cannot look her love in the eye. And that feeling was mutual.
"But right now, I know NOTHING about you. I'm not sure I want a .. relationship..with someone I barely know AND did you forget? You are a lightning, I am a Nightslayer, neither of our families will agree to this-"
"I don't care if they don't agree to this..I only want you to agree to me." She tried to hide her smile but I caught it before it vanished.
"As for your second query." I say taking a seat on the side of the cliff my legs dangling off the edge. "You can ask me ANYTHING you please and I can ask you ANYTHING I please. Deal?" I say desperately praying she would agree. I just wanted to spend time with her. Which was weird. But I never got tired of her voice. Of her face. Of anything. I just wanted to hear her speak. To hear her laugh. For her to be happy and feel safe...with me. She thinks for a moment before taking a seat close next to me. Her hair brushed my nose and our thighs were touching as she looked out to the rising moon. She had agreed.
"Sooo" she said after a while. "Um how old are you?" She giggled asking such a bland question. I chuckled "I'm 200." I replied "I know how old you are." I smiled and she said "yeah I think everyone in the kingdom knows how old I am." She said raising her eyebrow but he smile as large as I had ever seen. Now she is so close I see the dimples in her cheeks. I could only admire her and her beauty. "So your brother is he always so protective? I mean I saw at training, he didn't like it when I touched you."
"Yeah I mean, he has always been like that. My father was very hard on us as children, him especially. He was always told to be the best at everything. I still remember, the first time I beat my brother at combat. I was so happy, and he was so happy FOR me. He fought to get me into the CREE, he was the only one who saw me for what I was. A warrior.. My father wanted to marry me off twenty years ago. But Ryan wouldn't hear of it. Ryan is nothing like my father. My father would pit us against eachother for absolutely everything. Ryan hated it. He dispised having to cause me pain. After every fight, he would be the one to tend to my injuries. Out of love and guilt with nothing but sadness and in his eyes. My father would think that if Ryan couldn't beat a GIRL, then how could he become king one day. So, to avoid father's harsh punishments, I would let him win. One day, we were told to fight and not to stop until one was on the brink of death. And if we didn't, we would be kalzared."
"What's Kalzared?" I asked.
"You are stripped of all name, all titles, all power and left alone in the woods bansihed from Valtor. It's the harshest of punishments. Only used in cases of Rape, Murder and the plotting of ruining the kingdom."
"Wow" I say. "Then what happened?"
"Then, we fought. I told him to let me die. He wouldn't. He told me to hit him. And if I didn't then I was Petrified of him being Kalzared. So I beat him. And father beat me till I almost died." I look at her angered that any man had touched her like that. I would kill him.
"Ryan was the one who convinced Father to let me try out for the CREE. But obviously, I didn't go down the original way. He made me fight each and every man in the CREE and if I beat them all...I would be allowed to join. And I did. Only then I gained my father's respect as a woman and his personal guard. All thanks to my brother. He is one of my best friends and I would die for him honestly." She looks at me affectionately, thanking me for listening to her story. Her eyes fluttered in the light and her hair whispers like a dress in the breeze.
"So Drake how do you know him?"
She licks her teeth in anticipation for this question. She knew I would ask. She turns properly to face me crossing her legs as she is about to tell a story. And I know this is going to be good.
