Chapter 4 - Uninvited Guest.

Feng Nan was about to begin channeling his Qi when he heard a sudden rumble, it seemed that there were a few uninvited guest crashing in the cave.

"Senior Brother Peng! I think someones cultivating in here, furthermore, its unstable, but oddly powerful. I believe he has a treasure or some divine pill."

A deep voice responded,

"True, there is some incredibly thick Qi emanating from this cave. Someone must be cultivating, but its unstable. We should go cripple then take his treasure. We will let his dog life live."

Feng Nan sat and waited,

"Gramps' can you sense these cultivator's strengths?"

Feng Nan was excited, he might be able to claim his first two heads on the very first day he cultivated. He was bloodthirsty and wanted to test his strength.

"They are both in the 3rd Layer of Qi gathering. You can most likely defeat one of them, but not both."

Feng Nan was puzzled. He got too excited, and ahead of himself. Now he had to find a place to hide so he could ambush them.

Adrenaline pulsed through Feng Nan's blood. He was ready and he was vigilant.

Feng Nan held his breath, truthfully, he was quite scared.

"Senior Brother Peng! I think there are treasures here, but that brat is gone. He is hiding for sure!"

A deep voice responded,

"He is around here, we must find him and take his treasure. I've been stuck on the third layer of Qi gathering for 4 years now! Today we will break through and gain experience! Haha!"

Both figures were laughing uncontrollably, Feng Nan took this moment to hop down behind them, and sneaked away.

The two figures were laughing together so full-heartedly that they had forgotten about their goal!

Feng Nan found refuge in the a small corner of the forest and began trying to cultivate again, this time, hopefully uninterrupted.

He guided his Qi to his meridians and began piercing the meridians, the process was excruciatingly painful, but it was required.

Qi began flowing through his meridians, surprisingly, his meridians were tightly woven and was ridiculously tough.

Feng Nan inspected his body, his jaw dropped in awe as he realized his ridiculously tough meridians.

He deeply inhaled,

"Child, you're... Inhuman. You aren't human at all. Your talent surpasses all of the heavens... You are bound to have a good future. Speaking of which, I used to command a sect, the Divine Lightning sect. I wonder how it's doing? If you have time, please visit it someday for me."

Feng Nan chuckled, he knew he would need to get stronger before he went anywhere near the remains of the Lightning King.

He nodded, understanding that in order to satisfy the Lightning King's inheritence, he would need to help the Lightning King at least a little.

He quickly stood up, sensing the two men shouting.

"WHERE'D THAT BRAT GO?"

A deep voice echoed throughout the forest making many creatures to move.

Feng Nan knew he couldn't fight the both of them alone, and if he did try to fight them alone, he'd be met with a terrible fate that likely involved being killed instantly.

He gulped and began formulating a plan to escape, he knew that he couldn't just run back as he would get detected nearly instantly, but knew they'd find him if he remained in the forest. Although the forest was big, they could detect Qi, and so he had to lay low.

Feng Nan had formulated a plan, he would send his Qi west as a distraction and use that time to run.

Now, he had to execute that plan. The hardest part presumably.

He gathered his black lightning and shot it directly west. The lightning shot through the air, gathering immense speed. It was fierce like a tiger. Bolting through the air.

The two brothers immediately felt this and began jumping west, they were blinded by their own greed and didn't even realize that they'd been tricked.

Feng Nan utilized this time and bolted back to town.

"Nice one kid.. You're smart for your age. Truly impressive."

The Lightning King said this with a monotone voice that would send shivers down anyones spines if they were normal people.

Feng Nan nodded and ran back, although he wasn't particularly the fastest of people, he was still able to run quite quickly. He was currently too weak to utilize his Qi for agility, and so he had to run the old fashioned way.

Suddenly, the ground rumbled as if it was being split apart.

"DAMN BRAT TRICKED US!"

A horrifying voice shook the entirety of the forest. Clearly, they had figured out Feng Nan's plan. However, Feng Nan was already at the entrance of the Village. He was not stupid enough to wait at the forest.

Feng Nan sighed, he was exhausted.

"Luckily I didn't stay to see the outcome of that situation. Otherwise that would have went horribly."

Feng Nan was relieved that he didn't get the short end of the stick and get turned into ground meat,

but now he had to find somewhere safe to cultivate and stabilize his Qi. He had made quite a few plans while running. He was determined to take the exam to join the Vermillion Phoenix Academy, one of the top rated Academy's in the entirety of the Tian Lang region.

However, the exam wasn't until a few months later, he could utilize this time to practice and train. He wanted to become strong to avenge his parents.

He wasted no time and began searching for a place to cultivate. Searching throughout the village for a silent place was not easy, the village was full of nobles and loudmouths, and so, he couldn't find anywhere safe.

However, after extensive searching, he found a small corner of the village that was not only silent, but produced a odd yin qi that would be no question undoubtedly useful for his Black Lightning as it was pure yin.

He wasted no time and sat down to cultivate. He wanted to become as strong as possible for the few months he had left before the exam.
