On this day little Sky went on hunting for the first time for his 'coming into age ceremony'.
He left with the adult goblins early in the morning before the sun rose, they would leave now and hunt for meat from a harpy colony which they have been keeping an eye on for the last month.
Harpy is a humanoid monster with wings for hands. Other than this there was no much difference between them and regular humans.
A young goblin was beside Sky explaining the rules of the hunt to him in goblin language.
First rule when hunting a monster from a huge colony was to never target their leaders or its family.
If targeted, their might be a huge war between them and the whole colony of monsters.
Since goblins were weaker monsters they would be wiped out if faced with direct confrontation, so this rule was one of the most important of rules.
Next we must lure out our prey outside the surveillance of the colony and decrease its strength largely when we strike for the first time.
We then gang up the prey but should not engage in direct confrontation, we must keep circling and reduce the strength of the prey until we can end it in one decisive move.
For this coming age of ceremony, he must hunt a harpy on his own and bring its meat back to the goblin race.
Explaining all the rules to Sky the young goblin left him alone.
Sky forgot the rules the moment the young goblin left.
He was born with a fearless personality, and with his left hand there were no monster which can kill him.
He waited till it was night, the adult goblins had been planning for the last month to lure a young group of harpies away before hunting them today
He did not want his behavior to disturb the plan of the goblins, so he waited until it was late into night.
The harpies loved to build their nests on tall trees and this part of forest was full of their nests. Unlike their goblin race which lived in the ruins of a abounded village, the harpies obviously lived a better life.
He slowly walked below the trees, fearless of the impending danger. Harpies were creatures of the dark, their battle output at night was more than it was during the day.
But with his left hand he had nothing to fear. As he walked leisurely, a harpy descended from her nest and bared her teeth at him. Clearly she saw him as a enemy.
But she did not take any further actions and just glared at him. The harpy was on high alert as she could sense this creature before her to be a 'human'.
When the monsters first came out of dungeons, they almost eradicated the humans who were a great source of nutrients to them.
Finally the stronger monsters decided to compromise and let humans live so that they would not go extinct.
Now all the humans were protected by higher monsters, while the humans gave tributes to the stronger monsters.
It was due to this reason that she was on alert. She did not know the consequences of attacking a human who was being protected by the higher monsters.
Sky was at leisure because he had a plan which he was sure to work.
Soon a dozen harpies surrounded him, all of them were on alert like the first harpy.
Finally one of the harpy came forward and said some words in human language awkwardly. It was clear that she did not the language that much.
Sky himself was at a loss, he did not know the human language so he did not understand her at all.
But he stayed calm.
Two days passed with each of them trying to communicate with each other in a lot of ways, but there was no progress in their communication.
But the harpies were much more closer to him now, they now had normal expressions on their dark faces. They have calmed down after not sensing any malice from Sky for the past two days. They were now sure that Sky would not harm their colony.
It took a week before they allowed him to sleep in one of the free nests, he stayed in the harpy colony for a year learning their language and their habits.
He had forgotten about the goblins long ago, he knew about what they did to him during his early days, so he felt no shame in forgetting them.
The only reason he left the goblins alive was due to the middle aged goblin lady who used to take care of him.
If it was not for her care, he would have already destroyed them.
His reason for coming to the harpy colony was simple, he wanted the blood from their God to strengthen his arm.
Unlike others, he sustains on blood absorbed by his arm, instead of taking meat directly through his mouth.
He wanted the Harpy's God's blood but he did not want to force his way in, even though he might be immortal due to his arm, it doesn't mean they can't seal him forever.
So he was seeking more strength and he found that absorbing the blood from a god is the most direct way to increase his strength.
