Chapter 378 - Baatorian Jihad (13)

I observed the Crystal Wall around the Canghzi Plane and was secretly wondering about how they managed to build it around one year; indeed that was surprising because I would never predict it... maybe that was the result of their cooperation if they, instead of fighting against each other, working with one another.

'They must have sacrificed a ton of resources in building that monstrosity that fast... unfortunately, they never thought I would be prepared for that too.'

I thought in my head as I sent a signal to Ajuka to activate the disruptor devices hidden across the entire Canghzi Plane.

3rd POV

Canghzi Plane, Core World, Council Meeting Hall.

Right now, all surviving Warlock Emperors of the Six Imperial Courts were in the meeting; together with them, there were another two Warlock Emperors, who found their way to the Canghzi Plane by some miracle, as they were rogue ones, with any factions.

They were Heavenly Sword Emperor and Venom Vulture Emperor.

Heavenly Sword Emperor was a sword cultivator who focused on his sword path and nothing else; he didn't belong to any faction or lineage and was just an independent Warlock who worked as a mercenary for whoever paid him the most. After he became Warlock Emperor, he secluded himself to pursue a higher form of the sword.

Meanwhile, the Venom Vulture Emperor was a madman who was sealed by the Transcendent Emperor a long time ago; as the poison cultivator, he wanted to unleash some poison on the Canghzi Plane to annihilate the entire populace so he could create even more fearsome poisons.

Everyone had a gloomy Depression watching the Chthonian Armada surrounding the Canghzi Plane, as only the Crystal Wall was separating the Warlocks from the Chthonians.

"Their forces are more numerous and more powerful than we originally anticipated. Additionally, there are 4 Tier 11 powerhouses, and each one of them is extremely powerful, especially His Aura is almost suffocating... even if we outnumber them 2:1, it will be a close one."

Stated Taboo Emperor, as he looked grimly at his fellow Emperors.

"Fortunately, we managed to construct the Crystal Wall in time, and we can fight to form a safe distance; no matter what they do, they won't be to destroy the Crystal Wall in a short time without proper preparations."

Stated Time Emperor as he thought over the situation as others agreed with them. Their plan was to depend on the Crystal Wall to stall the advancement of the crusading Chthonains, fight them from behind the Crystal Wall and kill or injure most of their powerhouses before confronting the Chthonians head-on.

The Crystal Wall was impossible to destroy with brute force by anyone under the Tier 12, as only Tier 12 Powerhouses had enough power to destroy the Crystal Wall, and even they would need to expand a lot of power to achieve that feat.

Suddenly, as the 8 Warlock Emperors were planning their defenses next steps, the entire Canghzi Plane trembled violently, and earthquakes spread through the entire plane several times with bigger magnitude.

Suddenly the earthquakes grew so powerful and so violent that countless builds that were built by mortals of the Canghzi Plane or weak warlocks started crumbling and falling down as it hit the Sub Continents hardest.

"The Crystal Wall!"

Shouted Star Emperor as she stood from her chair, as tens of huge cracks appeared around the entirety of the Crystal Wall.

"It is crushing down."

Said Heavenly Sword Emperor under his breath as their strongest defense was turned to a pile of rubbles in several seconds, and the battle didn't even start properly.

"Immediately, activate the defensive spell formations; the Crystal Wall is down; all at your positions."

Shouted Taboo Emperor, as other Warlock Emperors didn't waste a second and shot towards their designated positions, as the Crystal Wall was basically rendered useless and would be down in several minutes, so the real battle was beginning.

In one moment, mass panic erupted from the Warlock Forces and various Factions across the entire plane, as their primary plan was to fight depending on the unpenetrable defenses of the Crystal Wall, but that was in vain.

Now they would be facing strong armies of the Chthonian Empire head-on.

Of course, worst of all were the ordinary Warlock Factions that didn't have headquarters in the Core World, as their territories would be instantly turned into a huge battlefield, as the Core World was like the name suggested, the Core of the Canghzi Plane and the final bastion.

But that was understandable because even Starry Sky Warlocks, who had a relatively high status in the Canghzi Plane's surface world, were just cannon fodder for the War of this scale, as all forces of the Chthonian Empire were minimally of that level.

Basically, Warlock Emperors divided their defenses into four layers.

1st was the Crystal Wall, which was the strongest out of the four, and was aimed to be the main battlefield.

2nd was the entirety of the surface world, as they built walls, and trenches laid spell formation and created outposts to hold the invaders there if, in case, managed to breach the Crystal Wall.

3rd were the Floating Continents, which floated around the enormous tree which served as the entrance to the Core World.

4th was the Gate to the Core World, which had the strongest defenses and highest number of powerhouses guarding it aside from the Crystal Wall, as it was the entrance to the heart of the Warlock Legacy.

In the Core World, they didn't really prepare anything special, aside from fortifying the surrounding around the Gate, because if the enemies managed to breach the Gate and enter the Core World, the fight was basically lost.

After three minutes, the last parts of the Crystal Wall fell down into the stars, as they were followed by a massive artillery barrage of the Voidflleet and attacks of experts from the Chtbnonian Empire of the Baator.

Countless Warlock Monarchs, Holy Spirit Warlocks, and even a few Great Step Holy Spirit Warlocks were instantly sent to oblivion after just the first salvo, and losses of lower-ranked Warlocks were immeasurable.

Fortunately for Warlocks, the defensive spell formations were activated before the second salvo could reach them, as they created barriers around the most important defensive positions around the Canghzi Plane.

The fight for the Canghzi and survival of the Warlock Path has begun.
