Kaia couldn't help but worry about the necklace she lost. That necklace was from her father. Kaia's father died when she was still a child. Kaia was raised by her mother all by herself. She never remarried again after his death. Her father died in a car accident when she was eight. The wealth Kaia's father left was enough to make her and her mother live a comfortable life. Kaia sighed as she remembers the necklace which was her father's last remembrance. "You're so stupid, Kai." She scolded herself. Kaia looked everywhere but her necklace was still nowhere to be found. She sighed and gave up.
The next day, Kaia made her way to her office. "Miss Kai, a new client is in line." Her secretary, Liah said. She nodded at her and entered her office to recieve the call. "Hello, Kai?" The caller spoke. Kaia chuckled, "A new client huh? What do you want this time, Nao?" She asked. The other person on the call laughed, "I'm really a client, you dimwit!" Naomi answered. Naomi is a long time friend of Kaia. "Alright, what kind of event do you need my service at, Ma'am?" She asked and chuckled. "A charity event, Miss. Are you going to give me a discount?" The other line joked at her. "Business is business ma'am." Kaia replied and laughed, "Drop by my office so we can talk about it." She continued. "I'm on my way already, actually." Naomi replied, she chuckled and dropped the call. Kai laughed and shook her head. She sat down on her chair and reviewed the papers. A few minutes later, a knock was heard from her door. "Come in!" She said, the door opened, revealing a Naomi. "Kai! Oh God! It's been so long!" Naomi said and approached Kaia for a hug. Kai chuckled and gladly accepted Naomi's hug.
"Well anyway, let's talk about the party!" Naomi said and made her way to the sofa. "Alright. Enlighten me about this event." Kaia said and followed Naomi to the sofa with her notebook.
"Well, you see, this event is designed as a charity event. So I guess it could fall under formal category? Geez, I'm not so good with event terminologies." Naomi said and laughed, Kai laughed with her and jotted down what she said. "Noted, so since it's a formal party, the foods to be served is mostly small foods right? Like cupcakes and so?" Kaia asked, Nao nodded at her. "Alright, for the color, what would you prefer?" Kaia asked Naomi. "I'd like it black and white. Also Kai, I have a favor to ask." Naomi said, giving Kaia her brightest smile. Kai closed her notebook and looked at Naomi, "I knew you were up to something. Tell me." Kaia said and chuckled.
Naomi stood up from the sofa and walked around Kaia's office. "Well you see, we have an auction that night. But, there's a twist." Naomi answered. Kaia chuckled, "Alright, which one of my property or things do you want?" she asked. "Well, I don't want any of those." Naomi answered. Kai frowned and looked at Naomi suspiciously, "Okay, so what's the catch?" She asked. "I need YOU to be one of that night's item." Kai frowned more, confused of what Naomi is trying to say. "I don't get it." Kaia answered. "Good heavens, Kaia. You're so smart but you can be really slow at times. I mean you'll be an item. Like people will bid for you or so on." Naomi answered and laughed. "Woah, woah, woah. Hold it right there. Are you trying to sell me?" Kaia asked and laughed. "Oh silly! Not sell, rent rather." Naomi answered and sat at the sofa, "Like, if ever I bid the highest, you owe me a date. Something like that." she added and Kaia was left dumbfounded.
