So as planned, Kaia arrived at the island she should be at. The place was astonishing and really relaxing. According to Nao, this island only accommodates only 100 guests per batch and getting a ticket is almost impossible for average people so the place is not really that crowded. "Hello Miss Kaia! Welcome to The Island! You're assigned to cabin 16 beside Mr. Calvin Montgomery who occupies room 17 and Miss Thalia Black who occupies cabin 15." The staff said as she handed Kai the key to her cabin. "A golf cart will take you there ma'am and it will be under your care for the next two weeks." She said and handed her another key.
She drove to her cabin by that golf cart to see a man in the cabin next to hers. He was topless and was reading a book. He simply looked at her and continued to read his book. What a snob, Kaia thought on her head. She entered her cabin and was amazed how the simple designs complimented everything. "Now, this is a vacation." She said as she smiled at contentment.
As soon as Kaia finished putting her things away, she changed into a simple spaghetti strap top and a shorts and went out to explore the island. "Hey." She heard a boy's voice. It was her neighbor for two weeks. She removed her sunglasses, "Yes?" She asked. "Mind if I accompany you?" He asked, she smiled and said, "Be my guest." she then placed her eye glasses back and started walking. The boy chuckled and followed her. "Do you know who I am?" He asked her. "Calvin, right?" She said and smiled. "Kaia." She said and offered her hand. He gladly accepted it as they smiled at each other.
While walking along, they saw a band performing by the shore. They are a famous band in the Philippines, December Avenue.
Kung 'di rin tayo sa huli
Aawatin ang sarili na umibig pang muli
Kung 'di rin tayo sa huli
Aawatin ba ang puso kong ibigin ka?
"I wonder what the song says." Calvin said as he looked at the band. "Kung 'di rin tayo sa huli, aawatin ang sarili na umibig pang muli. Kung 'di rin tayo sa huli, aawatin ba ang puso kong ibigin ka? It means if we are not meant to be, I'll refrain my heart from ever falling in love again. If we are not meant to be, should I stop my heart from loving you." Kaia answered and gave him a smile.
"You understood?" Calvin asked. "Kind of. I've been in the Philippines so I kinda learned their language." Kaia said as she continued to walk. Calvin shrugged and followed her. Kaia took off her slippers as she walked on the shore where the water could touch her, she closed her eyes and felt the wind brushing through her skin. Boy, was she thankful Naomi gave her this vacation. Also, for the boy beside her who seems to like the view of her more than of the ocean.
