(The sun has completely set when Kora finally returns to the bakery. Kora stands at the front door, feeling nervous and scared)
Kora thoughts: Argh... I feel so scared that my stomach hurts. I brought some flowers for Emili using the extra money Jek gave me, I wish those would settle her anger even just a bit...
Emili: --Kora? What are you doing outside?
Kora: ACK--!! Emili! I'm sorry! I brought you some flowers, please don't get mad...
Emili: What are you saying? (Notices the flowers) Awww, did you buy me flowers and waited for me outside? Thank you! But you shouldn't do this next time, what if you catch a cold?
Kora: --at me...? (Blinks) Huh? You're not mad?
Emili: How can I be mad at you when you waited so long for me? (Takes the flower) Thank you, Kora! And sorry for letting you wait so long. Oh yea. (Turns to Dan) Dan, this is Kora. My newly hired taster. Kora, this is Dan.
Dan: (Nods) Hello, Kora. I've heard a lot about you from Emili.
Kora: H-hello, nice to meet you.
Kora thoughts: No wonder she's not mad... She just came back!! Thank goodness she was later than me...
(Just as Kora was feeling relieved, the front door abruptly opens. The three turns around and sees Ken and Jek rushing out)
Ken: Kora--! Are you alright?
Jek: Girl were you lost or something?? Do you not know how to read maps? You could've told me!
Kora thoughts: Uh oh.
Emili: --What's going on here?
Kora: Well, I uh-- You see, um, Jek um... (Glances towards Jek)
Jek: (Realizes) --Oh, no, nothing. I was just trying to let her have some fresh air you see uh. It's nothing really. (Gives Ken the sign)
Ken: --Well, since everyone is safe and back, I think we should get inside and have a nice meal? We managed to finish up the kitchen, you see.
Emili: Hmm. (Looks at the big packs of things Kora is holding) What are those?
Kora: Oh. Those are things that Jek wanted me to buy for him. (Shows Emili)
Kora thoughts: It's okay to say that, right? I think as long as I don't tell them I went to the West street, I am safe.
Jek: Yea, you see she was bored and stuff. Of course, I gave her extra money to buy whatever she wanted. Look! She bought you a flower! Ha-ha.
Emili: (Eyes narrow) Hey! You shouldn't order Kora around.
Jek: I was trying to find her something to do! (Changes topic) Anyways, Dan, my pal, where were you? You said to help and left all the work for me. (Shakes head in disappointment)
Dan: I had reasons. I'll tell you after we get in, and I'll help with the house repairs too, Mr. Veldenware.
Ken: (Smiles) Great! I have two big men to help out. Come on, let's get in.
(Emili and Dan nods as they enter the door. When Kora approaches the door, Ken gave Kora a warning look, as if to say: "Next time, I will tell Emili right away." Kora shivers as she quickly nods and walks into the room. On the way, Jek grabs on to her shoulder and whispers to her)
Jek: (Whisper) --Hey, you went to the West street, didn't you?
Kora: (Flinch) Hmm?!? No, what do you mean?
Jek: Don't play dumb. The furthest you could've went from the map I gave you is the West street. And you smell horrible, kiddo. Like dead rat smell. (Speaks even quieter) Look, I don't care why you went there. You just have to tell me, did you see his highness there?
Kora: H-huh?
Jek: Tell me the truth. (Serious face) Did you see him? Or anyone similar to him? Even if you aren't sure, just tell me.
Kora: Uh, no... I don't think so... there were only ill people there.
Jek: Hmm... (Lets go of Kora) Alright, thanks. Give me my map and the things I asked you the buy. Don't worry, I won't tell Emili you went there.
Kora: Okay...
Kora thoughts: What was that? ...I hope I did the right thing not telling him about prince Loki...
Dan: Jek? What are you doing? Didn't you want to know why I was late?
Jek: Alright alright, coming!
Emili: Kora, come here! Dad is going to show you his extraordinary cooking skills!
(Jek and Dan sits together around a small table as Kora, Emili and Ken gets in the kitchen)
Dan: I'll get straight to the point. There might be an intruder here in Daintaline. (*Capital city of Askalandra)
Jek: Excuse me??? In our Daintaline? No way, impossible. What makes you say that?
Dan: Remember the Defus that attacked us two days ago? We had to bury them in the mass grave, right? Well, when I left today to check for the safety of my parents, I accidentally tripped over something on my way back.
Dan: I was trying to take the quicker route. (Glances at the kitchen nervously) And I accidentally found on the grounds one of the corpses of the Defus soldiers.
Jek: That doesn't prove anything, though. It could've been one of the people that hated the Defus and wanted to take their anger on their dead bodies.
Dan: Well, after I found that body, I went back to the mass grave to see if anyone was there. And I realized from examining the grounds that someone has been taking out the corpse one by one, then tossed them back into the grave. Then, I checked the bodies of the corpse that I picked up. I realized his clothes has been taken off before, but the person then properly put their clothes back on.
Dan: You see, it didn't look at all like someone that had a deep hatred for the Frendrilks. It's more like... Someone trying to find and erase any important evidence on the soldiers. Only the Frendrilks would have wanted to do something like that.
Jek: (Doubt) That's just your predictions. I mean, our soldiers couldn't find anything valuable on them. What could the Frendrilks want to erase?
Dan: That's what I want to know, too. So I went to the palace to report this foundation. On the way I met Emili, and she went with me.
Jek: That's ridiculous. Do you seriously believe it was the Frendrilks? You can't even explain yourself the intentions for them to do such things. Besides, I don't believe any individual can get past all our defenses and all the way to the capital all alone. Especially not those cockhead Frendrilks.
Dan: (Serious) That's what makes it most scary, Jek. If it was really a Frendrilk intruder, it means this person is a very strong person. He is most likely one of the Hades knights. We have to report to the palace before everything is too late.
