Kora calls out to Emili multiple times but there is no response. Her eyes are full of fear. Kora taps Emili on the shoulder to make sure she is okay. However, she flinches and drops the tray onto the ground.
Ken runs out immediately to go to Emili. He hugs her tightly and tells her it'll be alright.
"F-father...th-the Defus are here again..."
"Let's get to the shelter quickly. The Letze Knights will come soon and they will handle this matter. Come with us too, young lady."
As Kora, Emili, and her father arrive at the shelter, they find a spot to rest. Ken comforts Emili, who is shaking in fear.
"It's alright, Emili, we're safe now. We have food and warmth. No one is going to hurt us here."
Because Emili is so unstable right now, Ken does not want to leave Emili's side. He asks Kora if she could get Emili some water.
"Sure. Where do I go to get water?"
"You see that line over there?" Ken points to an area with a group of people lining up.
"I just have to line up with them, right?"
"Yes, thank you Kora."
Kora gets in line with other people at the shelter. She looks around confused.
So this is what a "shelter" is like...It feels so strange. I was just eating peacefully a few minutes ago and now...there's an explosion that caused us to evacuate...Kora thought to herself as she waited in line.
Kora looks back to where Emili is and starts to worry about her. She did not speak much after the explosion and is still shaking in fear even after reaching the shelter.
After some time, she reaches the front of the line. In front of her was a floating blob of water.
"U-um what is this? How do I get water with this?"
The man sitting next to the blob of water looks up at Kora. "You don't look like someone who's around here. I guess you're a traveler that came to our kingdom at the wrong timing huh."
"Well...uh I guess you can say that?" Kora says with an awkward smile.
"Let me help you with that since it doesn't seem like you know how this works."
The man grabs an empty, clean cup and places it on the table. Underneath the cup is a mark that secures the cup tightly. The blob of water starts to shake and then extracts water from itself and pours it into the cup.
The man hands the cup of water over to Kora. "Here ya go. You know how this works now, right?"
"Yes! Thank you!" Kora says, very impressed and surprised by how water was poured into the cup.
Kora walks back to Emili and her father with the cup of water. Kora, who still has no idea what is going on, hopes to get an explanation soon after everything is over. Kora hands Ken the cup of water.
"Thank you very much. I appreciate your help," Ken says, as he hands Emili the water.
Kora wants to ask what the Defus is exactly but she doesn't dare to ask since the simple word "Defus" will cause the people to be more frightened than they already are.
A few minutes later, some of the people at the shelter get up cheering.
"It's Prince Loki!! He's come to save us all!!"
"Prince Loki...? Why does that sound familiar...?"
Emili looks up with a sigh of relief and stops shaking.
"Emili...are you alright now? Is Prince Loki some kind of hero or something?"
"Yes, thanks for worrying. Prince Loki is our savior! Good thing he's here now."
The entire atmosphere of the shelter has changed. Everyone is smiling with hope in their eyes.
He must be a very strong leader figure-- Wait, it's him?! It's the guy I met before at the palace. He doesn't look as cold as he was before. Hmm so, this is the guy everyone was admiring...
"My dear Askalandrians, I am deeply sorry for having my people go through such pain and horror. Do not worry, our army will destroy the Defus in no time. Everyone here will be kept safe! In the name of Goddess Selestina, I will lead the Knights of Letze to victory and protect our homeland!"
The people let out a long and loud cheer for the Prince.
Loki heads out leaving a few soldiers at the shelter to protect the people.
Kora sits on the ground beside Emili and offers her the bread that Emili made for her before the explosion occurred.
"Thanks. You picked it up after it fell, huh?"
"Y-yea but I think it'll be fine since the bread was on the tray so it didn't fall onto the ground."
"It's fine. It's surprising how calm you can be. I was such a scaredy-cat compared to you..haha.." Emili says as she takes a bite of the bread.
"I was quite scared too. It's just that I couldn't comprehend everything all at once so I didn't know how to react."
