Anvamundan was looking at the throne in the throne room. He remember a memory of 15 years back.
15 years back-----
Maharani Chamundi was sitting on the throne. Anvamundan entered the room with Devsena. The child ran to her mother and sat beside her in the throne. Chamundi turned to her husband and asked, "You look somewhat worried. What is it troubling you"? In a serious tone he said," Maharani! We are here with a complain. Your husband and daughter are swinging from scarcity in your own Dravid kingdom".
Confused by the complain she asked," What scarcity"? He replied, "The scarcity of love, the scarcity of affection, the scarcity of caressing and the scarcity of attention by the mother of this girl". Smiling in relief she asked,"Oh! Complaining me, against me". Smiling helplessly he said,"What to do? I only have you". She said,"Yes dear! The whole Dravid state only have me. My responsibilities is not only up to my family but for my whole kingdom". He said," I understand Maharani but how do I make this child understood. No matter how much time I give her, she is in need of the attention and affection of her Amma[1]".
She cupped her daughter's face and said, "Devsena! You are my daughter. The future star of Dravid Kingdom. Even if I wish, neither can I hide nor I can stop my love towards you. But never forget that who we are and what is the meaning of our lives. By the grace of Mahishiamman and blessings of Hahuma, we have got a chance to rule on this Dravid land. So remember, this is the state and the throne that comes before us. Devsena! One day you will sit on this throne and will rise it's dignity".
He came out of his thoughts when a voice from behind called ' Appa '[2]. He turned around, smiled and said," I have been waiting for this day, don't know from how many days? Not only me, the whole Dravid kingdom, the world's largest mimic civilization has been waiting for it's queen. The daughter of Maharani Chamundi and Singhashanpati[3] Anvamundan will be the queen". In a worried tone she said,"Appa! Once I became the queen everything will change. According to the rule, you have to call me Maharani instead of daughter. This is the reason I have been running away from the thought of becoming a queen". After a pause, she continued,"After I became the queen, I will change the rule. I am the queen. I do have the right to introduce law and to change it too".
Smiling at her childish thought, he said,"My daughter, we are recognized by these rules. If we change the rule, our existence will also be changed. A queen have to respect these rules, have to protect it, daughter ". With tears welling up in her eyes she said," Again call me daughter". Cupping her face, he said,"My daughter "! She hugged him tightly. Releasing himself from her hug, he said,"After you become the queen, another thing will be changed. Some of your well wishers will be turned into your enemies". She said," I have never done any harm to anyone. I will not have any enemy". He said,"Finding out this will be your first step in becoming a successful queen ".
In the room of Dayalini -----
Thangam was yelling,"This is the reason I have never believed in Hahuma. Can't she notice that one is a better candidate for the throne other than you. She had became blind in love of Dravid kingdom". To make Thangam stop in her track, in a louder voice than Thangam, Dayalini yelled," Thangam ". She turned and said,"Pardon me Seshrani". She then kneeled down in front of her and said, "What will she rule can't be compared with an ounce as yours. If you were the one to sit on the throne, the grace of the throne will be something else. The grace of the kingdom will be something else".
Turning her head towards the window and said," It's all your fault. You have only suggested me to talk with Hahuma. The trick has been upside down. We are going to make someone the queen who have never wanted to be a queen. We have to bow in front of her. We have to call her Maharani". While she was irritated, Thangam smiled and said," The trick has been upside down not the game". She went and whispered something in the ear of Dayalini which brought a smile in her lips.
The next morning -----
The whole kingdom was having a different charm. Most of the people were excited to get a glimpse of Hahuma and happy as they a going to get a queen after so many years. As Hahuma was going to the palace in her palanquin, she noticed that the Dravid Kingdom flag has bended down. She then thought, "Hey, Goddess Mahishiamman, What kind of inauspicious signal is this in this auspicious occasion. What do you want to say? Have I taken a wrong decision?"
As Hahuma entered the palace gate, all the dance and music came to a stop. Everyone kneeled down and bowed her. Anvamundan said,"Hey worshipful Hahuma! I, Chamundi Pati[4], Anvamundan welcomes you to the auspicious Dravid occasion ". Inside the throne room, he stood up in the middle and said," Today, the promise I gave to Maharani Chamundi is going to be finished. My responsibility as the care taker of the throne is finished and a new future of the Dravid kingdom is going to be started. Worship Hahuma! If you are giving the permission, shall we start the coronation"?
Walking in the path of flowers through the shower of flowers, entered Devsena. One glance at Devsena and Hahuma remembered the coronation day of Chamundi. The same aura, the same confidence, the same patriotism,the same fierceness, everything was the same. She went and bowed to Hahuma. Hahuma said,"Every thought has a development, this is the nature of every kind. Maharani Chamundi gave birth to Devsena and Mahishiamman has wanted her to be the queen. Now go take your pledge ".
Devsena walked to the front of the throne and stood with the sword in her hands. She then said," I, Chamundi Putri[5] Devsena, took the promise that my life will always be devoted to the development and happiness of Dravidians". Anvamundan said,"Now we will give Mahishiamman their donation, with this devotion that by her blessings the power and respect of Dravid kingdom will last forever".
After his orders, a cow was brought inside the hall. It is the cow sacrifice done during every coronation ceremony. After it was enchanted with prayer, the sword was enchanted by the royal family members and Hahuma. But as the cow was about to be sacrificed, it collapsed and died. Most happiest was Dayalini, after all her trick has been successfully applied. Hahuma gave everyone orders that the coronation can't be done. Everyone left the palace. Devsena handed over the sword to her father and went away with an expressionless face. Who would have thought that their dream of getting their queen today will be shattered like this?
