Hahuma was sitting in her room. Thinking about the inauspicious signals of the day, she was already panicked about Devsena, but when she was about to meditate on how to know about the mystery behind the bad omens, suddenly the cobra on her left shoulder died signaling another bad omen. She meditated for a long time, then said,"3 bad omens means the emblem of crisis. Signs of Devsena's death! I have to save her from all the troubles. First trouble, Dayalini. Second trouble, an Arya but how could Anvamundan be the third trouble. How could a father be the life crisis for a daughter? I have founded the solution to the first trouble. I can also understand the trouble from an Arya but the third crisis have become a puzzle for me. How to solve it? How"?
The next morning----
Dayalini said,"Today her coronation stopped because we turned the auspicious sacrifice in to an inauspicious one but the same is going to be happened in the coming days. Devsena is only going to sit in that throne", to Thangam. Putting a confident smile on her face, Thangam said,"This is hard to be done as long as Thangam is with you".
Then looking towards a basket full of spears, she continued,"These spears are made by me. Choose any one you like". Swinging in her swing, Dayalini said,"The one having white feathers ". Thangam then ordered a soldier to take the spear and to aim it to a human model but it missed. In a disappointed tone, Dayalini said," Huh? How do you train the soldiers? They can't even target a nearby object".
Thangam said,"Apology my queen but the target was not on your right it was on the left". She then pointed towards a man who was shivering and died. She then continued,"Your Highness! Everyone knows Devsena's temptation towards weapons. She forget to drink water but can never forget to practice. Now if she comes for her practice and her sight will land on this extraordinary spears, then her hands will automatically move towards the spears. She will immediately pick up a spears and will took it in her hands". She doesn't speak anything more and they both just smiled.
Devsena was doing her warm up exercise and went to her practice hall. Girls of her own army were practicing. As soon as she went there, she signaled them to practice with her. Seven of them surrounded her but in just a minute, all the seven of them were lying in the ground groaning in pain. Dayalini and Thangam were peeking through the curtains. When she was about to go bring her sword, as per the words of Thangam, her sight landed on the spears. She asked, "Are those spears new"? One of her soldier said," Yes Your Highness! Those spears have been brought from the Malwa kingdom today only".
When she was about to pick one of them, a voice came from behind,"Don't touch them". She turned around to see her Hahuma and father. In an disgusted tone, Dayalini said,"Why do she always comes to annihilate my happiness ". Thangam assured," Annihilation have not done till now but it will happen if you doesn't rush to Devsena's side".
Devsena asked,"What happened Hahuma? Why did you stopped me from touching those spears"? In a worried tone she replied, "I have came know that crisis have surrounded you by all the four sides. This is not a favorable time for you, Devsena. The forms of times are unfathomable. Nobody can tell that when, where and in what form a crisis may come". Dayalini, from behind, said," You are completely right Hahuma". She then told the servants, "Why are you all standing here like a statue. Take out all the weapons".
She sighed and said," Apologies Hahuma! You were telling something ". Hahuma continued,"To eradicate the outbreak of the crisis, you have to take a vow today, here, at the current moment". Nodding her head in approval Devsena said," Hahuma! Your words are my commandments. Tell me what vow to take. I can leave food, water and every luxury. Just give me your orders ". Hahuma said,"You will not touch a single weapon for the upcoming 30 days. This will be your austerity and my order".
Shocked by the order, Devsena said," No Hahuma! This order is a punishment. These weapons are a part me". Hahuma explained, "Giving up on what is dear to you is called austerity. Penance and sacrifice are the identity of humans and a form of power. Tell me Devsena, Is the princess of Dravids is so helpless and weak"? With a confident look, Devsena said,"Absolutely not Hahuma. Devsena is the daughter of Maharani Chamundi. I will take the vow. Right here. Right now. I, Dravid princess Devsena, will not touch any weapon for the upcoming 30 days. Not at any cost".
In Devsena's room----
Devsena was playing Pachisi[1], with her friend. Dayalini entered and said," Devsena! I am busy till tomorrow morning. Do you have any special need"? Shaking her head, Devsena asked,"Where are you going, Mausi Amma[2]"?
Dayalini said,"Some man eating lions have been spreading terror in Unnam district. I would have sent soldiers there but how can I leave such an adventurous chance? Just think how much exciting it will be to chastise a man eating lion. It would be both thrilling and entertaining. How do I describe this adventure "?
She smiled evilly and then with a caring tone said," Oh! Forgive me Devsena. For a moment I have forgotten that you have taken the vow of not holding weapons for 30 days". In an appealing tone, she said,"Mausi Amma, I have taken the vow of not holding the weapon but I can go along with you. Can't I"? Dayalini said, "Obviously you can come along with me". With a sad face, Devsena said," But if Appa will know about this...". She was hesitant that, her father will not let her go. Dayalini said,"But how will he know about it? Should I give you a solution "?
Anvamundan was in his room, getting ready for the court. Suddenly he heard some foot steps. He recognized it as Devsena's. Devsena has been disguised as a soldier and was going out of the palace with a group of three soldiers. Suddenly a spear stopped her way. " A daughter can never trick her father", said Anvamundan. Devsena went to him and said,"Appa! How did you recognized me"? "I am familiar with each of your footstep", he said while taking out her fake moustache.
He continued," When you were a child, I used to make you stand on my chest and used to say different kinds of stories. You used to hear them and express different kinds of feelings. Sometimes you used to laugh, sometimes you cry and sometimes you used to jump. So your foot steps were soaked in to my heart along with the heart beat and left a mark in my heart. I am not only your father, I am also your mother. Now that you have grown up, you have to disguise into someone else to protect yourself from your father".
She said,"No no father, you are taking me wrong. I was just going for hunting with Mausi Amma but was not going to break my vow. Practice is the most important part of my everyday life. I was just feeling very much alone without that". He asked,"Did you just heard the order of Hahuma or have you seen into her eyes? The vow, she have ordered you to take is not for any small trouble. I have never seen such worry ever in the eyes of Hahuma. I am requesting you, don't use weapons and also don't go out of the palace for these 30 days. If you will do anything to make the trouble come near you then, I will think that you have stabbed your sword into my chest". She said,"Appa, I will do everything you and Hahuma tell me to do. Just don't say anything like this.
In a room Hahuma was meditating. A servant came and said,"Worship Hahuma "!. Hahuma said," Aryans have come". The servant said, "Yes Hahuma! Our soldiers have spotted a large army of Arya in the outskirts of Himalaya". Hahuma thought," Destruction is going to be started".
