Max had been staring out the window for an hour now as Robyn was nagging him. " 'OH ITS SAFE DONT WORRY, NOTHING CAN GET US IN THIS HOTEL!' Yeah! Besides zombies!" Robyn sighed, and then hugged her brother. "I'm sorry..." She said. "Is your hand ok?" She reached for the now bandaged hand but he just backed away. "I'm fine." He said, but Robyn wouldn't give up. He tugged his hand and looked at it carefully. "Ugh, we might need a doctor, this looks bad..." She said, but Max just pulled away again. "No we don't, you're worrying over nothing!" He yelled at her. I sighed and left the room as they continued to bicker. I went outside of the old run down house we were staying at and sat on the steps. It wasn't too long before I felt cold, hard metal press into my temple. "Dont move..." A voice said. It was that of a woman's. "Lily! Go check inside." The woman said, not removing her gun from my head. I felt my heart stop as I waited for around 10 minutes. I heard loud sounds coming from the house as they tore the house up more than it already was. The girl, Lily, came out with Max. "I only found this little twerp." Max looked at her. "Excuse me? I'm way taller than you little girl." He said. "Shut up!" She said, hitting Max's hand with a stick. He winced in pain, and I winced a little as well in sympathy. I looked back at the house and saw Robyn look at us from a little hole in the wall. She was hiding in the attic. I quickly moved away my eyes before the woman or Lily could notice. The woman finally removed the gun from my temple and tied my hands together. Lily did the same for Max, and they pulled us onto a large truck with 5 people already on it. There was 3 women and 2 men. 1 of the guys looked at us. He seemed to be around 12 or 13. He looked at us for a second before seeing Lily. "Lily! C'mon sis, you gotta get me out!" He cried, but Lily just looked at him coldly. "Traitor." She said, pushing us on the back of the truck as her and the woman got in the front and started driving. I didn't know what that was about, but I thought it sick that someone could take their own brother as hostage. "What's your name." Max said to the guy, beating me to the punch. "...Joseph." They boy said, then apparently the conversation ended there. He didn't even ask for our names, but Max gave them to him anyways. "I'm Claudia." One of the women, an old lady, said. She smiled at us sweetly, and I was reminded of my grandma. "We dont talk to newbies Granny!" Joseph said. I wasn't sure if he was insulting her, if they were related, or if that was what everyone just called her. "Well I don't even care anymore. Hells, I'd rather get whipped than have to work for those idiots." She said, gesturing towards the front of the truck. "Work?" Max asked the old lady. She turned to him. "Yes, these people make others into slaves." She replied.
