My hands were hurting from all the working I had been doing in the garden. I decided to sit down when the door opened and I quickly got back to work. There was a feeling I had that people who slacked off got hurt. I looked back casually as did everyone else but I was probably the only one wide eyed. There was... food. I thought they were going to let us starve but I saw now that that wasn't the case.
I felt a pain in my head, arms, everywhere. I felt bruised all over. A few women were standing over me. I appeared to be sitting in a chair. "We apologize for hitting such a pretty face." One of the women smiled at me. I winced at the pain. "Where... am I?" The women only smiled and pointed outdoors to a group of people. "You're in our slave camp for men." A woman replied. "That doesn't make sense... why only men, and besides, I see women too." I told her. She just looked at me. "Men were never going to give us equal rights, so when the apocalypse started we had decided that in this brand new world we were not going to be second anymore!" She said. "And what about the other women working?" I asked. "They still think that men are good and all that bullcrap." She replied, looking out the window. She seemed to be studying the women outside. A few moment passed before she turned back to me. "Don't you want to spend your adult life free from men." She asked, holding on to the sides of my chair. "I'm confused." I said. "There's no government anymore, so do rights even matter anymore? I think you all are being idiotic." The woman got red in the face for a moment, angry, but then gave me an evil smile. "Throw her in with Group B." She said to a small girl sitting in the corner, who quickly got up, saluted to the woman, and got me up out of the seat and out the door.
After about another hour of work, I could barely move. The women came and told us to go take a shower. We hurried to the showers. There was none for boys and girls separately, so we all got in the same shower room. Group B came in after us and I got the second shock of the day when I saw Robyn. She was talking to Max urgently, and when she saw me she smiled and waved. It seemed to be a friendly gesture but she seemed to be waving me over frantically. I half walked, half jogged over. "What were you guys discussing?" I asked. "Our escape plan." Max replied.
