Chapter 2 - In the Beginning...

"Mom, why are my eyes silver?" asked the little girl with curiosity in her eyes. The mother gave a warm and gentle smile towards her daughter, picking her up and answered, "I don't know. Maybe the old man of the moon gave them to you specially to lead your kingdom down a road of prosperity and greatness, my dearest Luna,"

"Are you alright miss?" the housekeeper asked. Jolting awake and responding breathlessly, "Yes, I'm fine"

"Breakfast will be served shortly," said the housekeeper as she walked away.

'Just a dream' she though as she was getting out of bed, revealing her tattoos and scars on her body, while her hair drapes down her back to her waist. As she was getting ready she noticed that there was ice all over the room. "I did it again," sighing she started to thaw the ice and get ready for her day. She put on her shorts and tang top and wrapped bandages all around her arms and legs concealing her marks. Finally, putting on her long sleeveless jacket and walking out barefoot to start her day.

'I always hated shoes' she thought while walking towards the housekeeper. "I'm here to pay,"

"Of course. Would you like breakfast before you go miss?"

"No thank you," while putting the money on the counter and walking away. 'What a strange girl'

As Raven started to walk away she started to think about her dream 'Why should I care about the past. It's not the same as before. I'm different my name is Raven now. I am in control.' As she was thinking a villager threw a rock at her head while yelling, "Get the hell out of our village monster!" The other villagers started to throw rocks and yell the same. She stoped and gave them a cold and indifferent look which made them all freeze. As she turned to leave again she said in a stern tone, "Annoying,"

Of course she was used to this kind of treatment. This was one of the reasons she never stayed in one place for too long she doesn't want to deal with this, but that was not the only reason. She didn't want to have any relationships with anyone because she didn't want the past to repeat. 'All the betrayal and death who wants that'

Once she exited the village she went down the road that leads to the forest. Not many people take this road now a days, but she was fine with being alone, frankly she actually preferred it.

Lost in her thoughts she didn't notice a carriage approaching her. The carriage rattled with all of the barrels, but as it did she head a voice, "help...me..." the voice was faint, but she thought 'what a drag, I guess I'm going to have play hero today'

"Hey, stop!" she yelled. The two men stopped their horses and looked at what they seemed to be a helpless child with her backpack. "Yes, little girl. Are you lost?" saying with a hint of annoyance in his tone. "No, but could you do me a favor and let the kid out of the barrel" saying while pointing at one of the barrels.

"What are you talking about we're just simple merchants going to the village up ahead to sell," responded the broad shoulder man.

"Wow, selling a kid that must get you some pretty big money, huh?" responding in a mocking tone.

"I had enough of this," yelling as he stood up and started to walk towards her. Even though she was decently tall for her age at around 5'4'', the man next to her stood at 6'5", Raven started to think, 'why did I have to get myself involved in this situation. All I wanted to do today was walk through the forest, maybe climb a tree or two, help out some animals, and take a nap, but no I had to help the stupid boy that got himself captured by these two idiots.'

As she was deep in her thoughts the man next to her had started to boil with anger 'how dare I be ignored by this little brat. We gotten one annoying brat why not another.'

He swung at Raven hopping to knock her out, but right before his fist made contact with her she caught his fist and twisting it to the side. "Ahhh," the man whelped in pain and looking at what he thought to be a harmless, pathetic kid, he turned to look into silver eyes that felt as though all of the life had been sucked out and replaced with cold and death-like eyes. He kneeled down to the girl who had an icy aura saying, "F***! Help me out here Drew!" Snapping his comrade out of daze he charged toward Raven with sword in hand, but before he got the chance to strike her, Jack, who was kneeling suddenly got knocked out completely, laid on the ground motionless except for his soft breathing.

Raven now stood behind Drew and said in a cold tone, "You should never pick a fight with someone you don't know, even if they are smaller. It's a rule,". Next thing he knew he what hit in the back of the neck, knocking him out along with his companion.
