Raven and William started to walk down the road towards the village. Raven noticed that William was slowing down and clutching his hand to the side of his stomach.
"Are you alright?"
"Hmmm" looking up and gave her a smile that did a good job of hiding his pain, "Yea, just a small wound"
"I don't like being lied to," Raven started to say as she pierced him with a cold glare, "Sit."
Trying to protest, "But—"
"Now."
William reluctantly sat down. Her tone was firm, but it was not the tone of her voice that made him sit but her eyes. Wondering in his thoughts William didn't notice that the girl next to her already had bandages and medicine for his wounds. He finally snapped out of it when Raven spoke, "Do you need me to take off your shirt or are you fine on your own?"
His face turning red as a tomato from embarrassment he stuttered, "I— I'm fine t-thanks"
William started to take off his shirt revealing a fit figure with blood covered all over his six pack.
As Raven started to dress his wounds careful not to harm him, William felt that the situation was awkward so he tired to start a conversation.
"So, ummm, can I ask you something?l"
Without looking up, "I am sure that you're going to ask it anyway so shoot,"
"Why are your eyes silver?"
Flinching when he started to talk about her eyes. She looked up and thought, 'Will he be like everyone else, thinking that if something is different that they would have to feel threatened or lock it up to keep to themselves'
Noticing her hesitation he continued, blushing, "Not that their not pretty. Actually they're really pretty, it's just that I've never seen something like them before."
Sighing she continued his treatment and said in a quiet, but commanding tone, "I think I'll pass on this question. Next."
Going back to his cheerful self he continued, "Why do you have bandages all over your body?"
"You really like to ask some personal questions, huh?"
"That's me," he said cheerfully while giving a boisterous laugh.
"Well I'll answer some since you're getting me food, but if I say, 'pass' then don't bother anymore on it, okay?"
"Alright"
"Also stop your moving I am going to have to give you stitches. Your wound is too deep."
"Hmp, thanks"
Thinking about what questions he should ask first, but trying to remain still. He finally started with, "Why do you have so many bandages on you? Are you injured?"
Starting his stitches and getting ready for the barrage of questions coming her way she answered, "First question - pass. Second, no"
"Okay, how old are you?"
"Fifthteen"
"Really, me too!" acting as though he wasn't getting a needle sewn through him, but just talking to a new friend.
"Where are you from?"
"Pass"
What's your favorite color? Mines red."
"Blue"
"This is going to be really stupid to ask again but what's your name?
"Oh," looking up to give him a slight smile, "it's Raven"
They continued this for the next ten minutes when William was all patched up, even though William didn't get much information about her because she mostly passed all the questions. Except for the ones that weren't that personal. They went back on the road and started to talk. Well William did most of the talking, Raven just nodded or made a small grunting would that William thought was cute.
While they were still walking Raven finally said, "Do not ever lie to me again. Understand." She said this while looking into his dark blue eyes with her cold ones. This was something that William felt as though was either a bit of a threat or a warning. He quickly nodded and responded, "I will hope that you will do the same."
Giving him a faint smile, "Sure"
They continued their way towards the village. Realizing that at their pace and needing to stop soon to check on William injuries Raven said, "Let's stop here for tonight. You have to rest, so your injuries will heal sooner."
"Are you sure? I could still walk perfectly fine."
Raven turned back to look at William. Her cold aura felt as though it could suffocate someone if they stayed for too long.
"Okay, okay. I'm sorry. I just don't want to be a burden,"
"Your not. Now sit down and get some rest"
With those few words, William listened and watched Raven build a fire. He still had so many questions in his mind about who she was. The sun was setting and the moon was starting to glow .
Getting really awkward with the silence William asked, "Could we play that game again? The questions one? I still want to know more about you"
Raven was laying against a tree. Frankly she wasn't awkward about the silence and enjoyed it, but she was bound to get some talk through the night, so she agreed.
"Great! Ummm what's your favorite and least favorite season?l"
"Least, summer. Favorite fall or winter"
"Really? Most people are the opposite, but could you tell me why"
"Fine, but after this we are going to sleep, for we have a long way to go and your injured, understood?"
William starts to nod and thinks 'she is one strict person'
"Fall and Winter are my favorite season because they too bring some life. Fall is when trees are and plants start to wither, but there is beauty to it, with all of the colors. Then Winter helps those plants fall asleep so they can help get them awake for summer, and it makes perfect conditions for hot chocolate."
Raven looked over at William, thinking that he would have a face of boredom and have no interest in what she just said, but when she did look, all she saw was awe.
"I never thought of it that way, but just as cold weather and sadness. I know this is going to sound weird, but thanks"
"Yeah, yeah just get some sleep"
They both started to go to sleep after Raven had set her precautions of course, like traps and warnings, if someone appears, but what they didn't know was what joy they had today would be completely destroyed from the days to come.
