Can somebody here explain to me what just happened? I seriously expected him to just surrender out of fear of getting hit by that super powerful spell, but instead, he somehow dispelled it. I mean, I didn't even know that was possible! But he somehow did, and you know how that makes me feel? Absolutely furious. How is that even fair? Fine, don't think just because you can cancel out my spells that you automatically win! From the looks of it, he can only cancel out one spell at a time.
Damn it, he already erased my other fire spell, but that doesn't matter! My duel casting is the perfect counter to his sealing magic or whatever it's called. Heh, that actually gives me an idea, so, I think it's time for my other magic attribute.
"Duel Casting, Trap Magic: Pitfall and Paralysing Trap!" The thing about Trap Magic is that its casting time is slow, like really slow. For the trap to fully come into effect, for these two, it takes thirty seconds. Though, I'm betting on the fact that he doesn't know this!
One of the traps appears beneath his feet, while the other one a few meters behind him. Seeing how he'll probably see the Paraysing Trap as more dangerous, so he'll dodge it for sure.
"Sealing Magic: Spell Seal." For the third time now, he cancelled out my spell, specifically the paralyzing trap below him.
Either this guy would risk getting hit by my Trap Magic, or he knew how Trap Magic actually works... and the fact either of these could be true really infuriated me.
>Skill: Fury has levelled up to 3.<
Yeah, it makes me that mad! Although, that does remind me I could use that skill... but I don't want to risk it, considering the side-effects of the skill.
There's one thing I can do, then.
I move to close the short distance between us, drawing my sword in the meantime.
"If my magic can't touch you, I'll just attack you physically!" I couldn't help but let a smirk leave my face, considering there's no way I'd lose in a fight physically. And, considering he doesn't have armour or even any weapons, he can't fight back!
"That's a good conclusion to come to, but you might want to rethink your logic. Sealing Magic: Physical Seal, 30%."
What the-- it felt like my strength was just drained out of me! What kind of spell is that? A spell that can seal off some of your stats? That's just... that's just cheating!
"Do you seriously think that some cheat like this... would make it so you're able to win?" I don't care what kind of things he can do, that doesn't make him better than me! Even with some of my strength taken from me, I'll still beat him to a pulp! With ease, at that.
"Well, I do, actually." His seemingly innocent smile widened into something more sinister, as he cast another spell. "Wind Magic: Wind Blast."
His magic blew me away, far enough away that I couldn't reach him before he could cast another spell.
No way, there's no way some nobody like this could be this strong. My talent and skill make me stronger than everybody else, no one could even fathom of beating me!
>Skill: Fury has levelled up to 4.<
Yet he, Eina, he's completely neutralized everything I've thrown at him...
No, no, no! I'm not some weakling! I'm a hero, and one day I'll be the number one adventurer! I'm not gonna be beaten by some, by some useless nobody like him!
>Skill: Fury has levelled up to 5.<
I'll win, and then I'll beat the next person in this stupid tournament! And then after that, I'll keep on winning.
Okay, let's just calm down. Losing my composure will only cause me to lose too! My teacher said something along those lines, once, though I can't fully remember what it was. Okay, even if this all looks bad, there's still gotta be a way to win with ease. I mean, I'm me, after all! There's no way I'd lose, not now.
But, from the looks of it, there's only one way to do that now.
"Really? Because from where I'm standing, it looks like you've already lost." I replied to his former comment finally, causing him to seem interested.
"Oh? And how is that?"
Oh, you'll see soon, don't you worry! All I've got to do is get you in the right place, and then this is all over.
"Fire Magic: Surrounding Flames," this particular spell uses quite a lot of mana, but it's worth it. In an instance, at least twenty flaming spheres appear around him. However, I slightly modified the spell, you see.
The fire is sent towards him, but he noticed an opening to the right of him, letting him escape. Oh, but don't think that wasn't on purpose on my part, letting him escape was part of my master plan! I created one way to escape the spell, and that's right into one of the traps I've placed.
A trap spell I placed activated beneath him, but he dodged it right in time. However, he jumped right into another trap spell, one that kept hidden a stored spell, exploding fireball.
Without enough time to dodge, he gets hit by the full force of the spell, it exploding on his back and sending him flying onto the ground in front of him.
Oh, I'm not done yet. Another trap spell appears below him, paralyzing him for at least thirty seconds. Wanna know where all those spells appeared from? Well, as you know, I had no time to cast any trap magic, but the interesting thing about trap spells is that they last a long time. Yesterday, I put a bunch of trap spells around, like hundreds of them. It took a long time, but it ended up working out. Anyway...
That's not enough, no, he'll have the honour to experience every ounce of my wrath.
"Duel Casting, Fire Magic: Exploding Fireball and Surrounding Flames!" Directly above him appears both of the previously used spells, already hurdling towards him. Oh, please, he won't die from this if he just uses his sealing magic, right?
But, before my magic hits him, and before he could even use his sealing magic, each one of the separate flames is consumed by a water spell that appeared out of nowhere.
"Uh, to prevent any further harm and as Eina has been unable to move for over ten seconds, the victory goes to... Blaine Skia." He announced my victory, but with a tone of disdain to it.
Right now, I don't really care about that. I'm more confused on what the hell just blocked my magic. Coming from the direction the mana came from...
A woman walked towards me. She had light-coloured hair, almost similar to that of an elf. However, she was most definitely not one, considering her ears were not pointed and were instead the same as any human. Her eyes were a light blue, and she wore a similar blue hat. Her long hair was tied up into a ponytail, and she wore clothes that made me sure of it. She was a magic knight.
"Who the hell are you." I looked at her dead in the eye, frowning despite my status as a hero.
"I am Captain of the Azure Sea Dragons, Anna Fornet, and you have gone too far."
Oh, Captain Anna Fornet, huh? From House Fornet, one of the noble families in Draila? How fun, one of the oh-so-great Magic Knights is here! And the captain of a unit at that,
"The Captain of the Sea Dragons herself was watching me fight? I'm simply honoured, but what would some magic knight want with somebody like me?" My sarcasm was obvious, and why shouldn't I be rude to somebody like this? Lots of people might look up to these magic knights, but I know what they all really are, corrupted pigs with no sense of morality.
"As I said, you have gone too far. You would have killed your fellow contestant with that last attack, yet you continued anyway."
"Could have, not would have. It all ended up fine, so why even mention things in the past?"
"Silence. If it was up to me, you would be disqualified. But, as the rules written by His Majesty himself, 'in event of a situation where one contestant could have possibly gravely injured or even killed another contestant, the winner is to still proceed onto the next round. However, with extra care put in with making sure such a thing does not happen again." Geez, I've always heard she's the serious type, but this is bringing it to another level. She's just another mindless person only fulfilling orders, huh?
"Great, then I'll just be going, then, miss great magic knight captain." I began to walk past her, but she stopped me.
"Mind your tongue, I will not stand for such rude behaviour, especially not in the presence of the king." It's always the magic knights who are this stuck up. Seriously, she's really going to act like the king can actually hear us right now. What a joke.
"Yeah, yeah." And with that said, I walked away, now my mood completely ruined.
>Chapter B.6, end.<
