Chapter 66 - Finally, My Time to Shine! -Chapter B.5-

It's finally time for me to shine! Yeah, it was a bit of a letdown not getting to fight anyone in my round, but they would have probably been boring to fight anyways.

You wanna guess who I'm going to be fighting? Well, you can probably make it out on your own, considering I was the eighth fight and this person was the seventh. That's right, Eina, the person who signed everyone here up for The Tournament. Well, there are probably other employees that work here, but... okay, I don't really have any point here.

Anyway, here in the waiting room, there on the complete other side of the room is Eina, sleeping on a chair... what, is sleeping his only character trait? Either way, before the fight begins, I want to have a word or two with him. So, as one does, I walk up to him, shaking him awake.

He woke up instantly, seemingly pretty startled by my presence and the whole, being shaken awake thing.

"Ah...?" He looked up at me once again, staring into my eyes for a moment or two. "Oh, it's you again. What a coincidence meeting you here, perhaps our fates are intertwined." He smiled at me slightly, yawning.

"Yeah, yeah, fate and stuff, right." I don't really care about any of that fate or destiny stuff, who cares about something you can't control. "Listen, you do realize our fight is scheduled soon?"

"Hm? We're going to be fighting each other?" He replied to me nonchalantly, reinforcing my theory that this guy is a total idiot.

"Yeah, we are! Have you seriously not been paying attention to the placements?" You can't exactly blame me for getting a bit agitated, considering Eina's personality.

"No, not exactly. After all, I'm here for fun, so why pay attention to things like that?" Damn it, he has the slightest point there... However, my point is way better, anyways.

"Fine, just make sure to be there on time, alright?" I spoke back to him, turning my back to him to leave... however, he, in a moment, got in front of me and started to walk off, looking back at me.

"You might not want to let down your guard, otherwise, you might just lose, Blaine." He chuckled a small bit before leaving entirely.

Eh? Who the hell does he think he is?! We're definitely not on a first-name basis, the blatant disrespect from him! Oh, I'll show him, I'll beat him so badly he won't even know what hit him.

...

After a bit longer of waiting, our names were called.

"Hello everyone, and welcome to the fourth and final round of the quarterfinals! If you would look at our contestants, this is the first time in history that the fight will be a one on one fight! I'm just as surprised as you all are!" The announcer spoke, obviously recovered from the confused state he was in because of the former match.

Oh yeah, the last match. It ended in the victory of team Ohre, but only because their opponent forfeited for some reason. Why, I really couldn't tell you. I mean, I couldn't even hear what they were saying to each other.

'Well, in this fight, we have Blaine Skia! Who only really got this far because his opponent failed to even show up!" He laughed a bit, and so did the audience. Oh, what would you know, huh? I bet I'm way stronger than you! Then again, the way he's floating in mid-air is sorta weird...

"And, standing on the other side of the arena is Eina! Who, against all odds, managed to win his match against his former opponents. It was truly an impressive sight, wasn't it?" And now he's praising Eina! I seriously get no recognition for my greatness.. What a shame, I'll just have to show them all how great I really am.

"I'd rather not intrude any longer, so... let the battle begin!"

Alright, that's what I like to hear! Eh? He's just calmly walking closer to me! I've never seen someone so confident in my life! Well, except for me, of course. Nobody can beat me, not even in being confident.

Fine, then, I'll just do the same thing. There's no way I'm going to lose to someone like this! Not a chance in the world, you got that?

"I hope you know I'm not going easy on you," I said to him, merely just telling him the exact truth.

"Great, it wouldn't be enjoyable for either of us if you were holding back." Huh? What kind of response is that? For Al Gahara's sake, this guy seriously is so annoying.

Fine then, I'll start this off with something really impressive, something none of these posers could even fathom of doing!

"Duel Casting, Fire Magic: Flame Ensnare and Exploding Fireball!" That's right, Duel Casting! It's something I've been working on for years, and it was taught to me by my teacher. Sure, I can't do it as well as her, but It's still pretty damn effective!

First, flaming tendrils come out from the ground and wrap around Eina, limiting his movement and also searing his body. And, at the exact same time, from my hand erupts a huge sphere of flames that explodes when it makes contact! This one combo is almost inescapable! And somebody like him would never be able to get out of getting hit!

"So, what are you gonna do now? Wanna surrender so you don't get hit?" A bit of bragging never hurt anyone, well, in this case, it could, but my point stands.

"Oh, you can cast two spells at once? Quite impressive," Despite his situation, he's still smiling that same smile he has been. Hah, he must be an idiot if he thinks this won't harm him!

"Sealing Magic: Spell Seal," He cast a spell from an attribute I've never heard about, and the instant it was cast, my Exploding Fireball spell completely disappeared, the fire mana being turned back into regular mana.

What.
