After the crowd dispersed and the incident came to a end, Adam remembered something he should have noticed earlier, he didn't have any money. Without money, he wouldn't be able to sleep in a inn or buy food.
'Shit...' Hitting his temple with a open palm and sighing,he said it to Asutrix.
"Hey, uhmmm.... Asutrix, I don't have any money. What now?"
"Are you sure about that brat? I remember feeling something in your pocket earlier."
"Something in my pock- What the hell?" Adam put his hand in his pocket and was shocked to feel something metalic inside it. Pulling out the thing, he noticed it to be three gold coins.
"Gold coins...?" Adam mouth was in the shape of a 'O' right now.
"Three gold coins, huh? Seems like you will not sleep outside today brat." Asutrix said in a uncaring tone.
"You know what, whatever..."Adam don't really cared about how the gold coins appeared in his pocket anymore. He got teleported to another world after all.
Now the only problem is how many three gold coins are worth. Adam had a suspicion that this world currency was like in fantasy novels, copper,silver,gold and maybe another special coin like white gold. To confirm it, he searched around the city.
A unknow amount of time later, Adam confirmed he was right. He saw people selling fruits and other cheap goods for coppers coins, and somewhat expesinve things for silver coins.
"Hmmm, this place monetary system is the same as the one in Cranthland Empire.... Interesting..." Asutrix also said something.
Adam searched around for a inn, and soon found one that don't looked to be very expensive. He had no idea of the price of a average inn. He ended up paying around two copper coins per day, and the inn owner was strangely respectful to him, probabily because he said that he don't had any change, only gold coins. He also had learned of how much a gold coin was worth. 10 copper coins are worth 1 silver coin and 10 silver coins are worth one gold coin. Adam doesn't know if any coin higher than gold ones existed, but they probabily do.
Adam got in his room and thought about what to dow now. His mind was somewhat agitated with everything that happened, being suddenly sent to another world and all.
"Hey brat, I have something to talk to you." Asutrix suddenly said something.
"What do you want to talk?"
"I will teach you magic."Asutrix said in his calm tone.
"What? Are you serious?" Adam didn't believe in magic, but with everything that happened he wouldn't be surprised if it existed.
"Yes I am." Asutrix was calm as ever.
"Why would teach me that? You want a apprentice or something?" Adam was doubtful.
"No, I don't want a apprentice or anything like that. I'm just worried that if you die, I will die too, so you need to get strong." Adam finally understood the reason Asutrix was so willing to teach him magic.
"So what magic will you teach me? Fire Ball?" Adam was a little excited, it was magic after all.
"I need to learn what elemental affinity you have first. Go to a forest or a isolated place." Said Asutrix.
The excited Adam got out from his room and asked for the location of a nearby forest to the owner, who still awsnered it even after finding the question a bit strange. Adam pratically ran to the forest, regretting it soon later because it was a little far from the city. He was exhausted finally reaching it.
"So...What is my elemental affinity...." Said Adam who paused to rest some minutes. He felt something passing trough his body, like it was scanning it. After the sensation ended, Asutrix voice came soon after.
"All you elemental affinitys except earth are below average. Well you have some talent in earth magic to compensate that." Adam was disappointed. He was expecting it to be like these protagonists with incredible talent in everything, he got transfered to another world after all.
"Don't be disappointed brat, few people even have something like average affinity in a element. Your talent in earth magic is above even average, and that is quite something." Said Asutrix noticing Adam disappointment. Adam was a bit animated hearing Asutrix.
"So what type of magic you will teach me." Adam was hopeful.
"Seeing your elemental affinities,I will teach one of the most basic offensive earth magic. The best deffense is a good offense after all." Adam felt like Asutrix was smiling saying that.
"Since teaching you like normal would take too long, even with your talent in earth spells, I will take advantage of the situation I am in and transfer the knowledge direct into your mind. It might cause some headaches so be prepared." Said Asutrix with the same calm tone.
"T-This is not dangerous right...?" Adam was scared.
"You won't die." Asutrix was definitely smiling.
Adam suddenly felt something entering his mind, images and memories he doesn't had began appearing one after another. The spell name, the sensation of casting it, how to cast it, everything about the spell appeared in his mind, together with a headache.
"Ouch..." Adam felt like he would have fallen down if he was not sitting right now. The information transfer stopped soon after together with the headache.
"Done." Said Asutrix.
Adam noticed that he head memories he don't had first, and they don't felt like it belonged to him. If his mind was a computer, these memories would be just like a pen drive. Strangely, only how to cast the spell was in these memories, no information about Asutrix was in it. After analyzing the memories, Adam got to know the name of the spell, it was called...
