"Hello old-timer," She said, "Do you know of a man named Hugo?"
"Hugo? Does he have a last name?"
"He doesn't," She sighed, "He carries a broken blade, he went crazy and disappeared 4 years ago, is there any chance you've seen him?"
"Him? The demonborn? The mad man? Why are you looking for him?" He said suddenly looking up at her, "He butchered his family and killed many men, he went crazy and fled into Terruna, no one knows where he went, there are only stories or tales, nothing else, no one knows who he is."
"I do," She sighed, "I met him before he was crazy, when he was just a regular human."
"Ha ha ha! Young lady, you have no idea of what you speak of, the man never was a regular human, he was born as a demon, and he was only able to seal the rage for so long, once it broke, no one could stop him, even Jarvan the Third and Silnoisnalbis together died at his hand," He shook his head, "And if he was still alive, the creator would have sealed him in a place, a place where no one would find him, but if you want clues, maybe you should go see the former capital of the Bilgewater empire, Bilgewater."
"Why?" She said looking at him weirdly, "What is over there?"
"The people who knew him best, he was their leader for a long time, until he went crazy, none of the guards survived, only the people who hid will tell you of that man, maybe you will be able to find the information you seek," He said as he reached into his pouch, "Here, take this," She grabbed the scroll, "It's a map of Terruna, Bilgewater is the southern island, you should still be able to get there before the storms."
"Storms?"
"Yes, every year there are several weeks of storms, so you might be stuck there or outside of Bilgewater for a few weeks before the storms dissipate," He said as he took a drink from a bottle, "But why did you come to me?"
"I asked everyone in the town, the mayor told me to come see you."
"Well, I hope I could help, but when you are there, don't go asking everyone about him," he explained, "They have grown hatred for him, they used to love him and then he turned on them, on everyone. But as far as I'm concerned, he could just be dead."
"Thank you, sir, um, what was your name?"
"Cayn, sir Cayn of Hisnomat, and you?"
"Esral," She said turning her back and heading down the path, "Esral of Demacia,"
"Esral of Demacia, why do you search for this mad man?"
"I don't know, but thank you for your help," She called back to him. It had been 4 years since she had last seen him. She was still in love with him, very much in love with him. She had been wandering Terruna for a year and hadn't found anything that came close to her finding him. Bryn broke her train of thought thinking.
"Did you find anything?"
"Yes, something about Bilgewater, his hometown, well the last place he lived," She paused, "Why haven't I thought of this before?"
"I don't know, but climb on, we should get going, the storm season is going to be around soon," He said as she climbed onto the horse, "If you want to get there soon, we need to hurry."
"Maybe we can find someone who knows about him a little more than these folks," She sighed, "Hugo, where did you go? Why are you hiding?"
"He might have been condemned by the creator, he did kill two gods in his rage," Bryn said, "Maybe if we find someone who survived and knew him well enough, like an advisor or something, since he was the leader."
"What?! He was the leader?"
"You didn't know that? I thought you knew him pretty well."
"He just said that he was a soldier, nothing more," She shook her head, "I can't believe I gave myself to a man I thought I knew but I didn't."
"Gave yourself, my lady?"
"Forget it," She said, "Just hurry on, we need to get to Bilgewater."
"Yes, my lady."
"Just call me Esral, you are my travel companion not my servant."
"Sorry, it is just habit," She sighed as Bryn pushed the horse to gallop. Where are you? What caused you to go crazy? Why are you the most wanted being in Terruna? This is hurting my head, I can't think straight. I fell for him and now he disappeared, did he betray me or did he actually go crazy and lose control? I hope I can find these answers. Bryn suddenly stopped the horse, causing Esral's head to hit his back.
"What's with the stop?"
"Two travelers in this part of the forest?" A man laughed, "You are no knights, hand us your money and you can live, unless you want to die."
"What should we do?" Bryn asked as Esral climbed down from the horse, "What are you doing? They are armed, don't kill yourself."
"I am armed as well," She said drawing her blade, "With an elemental blade, the Frozen Fang."
"An elemental blade?! Did you hear that guys? She might go berserk, scram!" The men disappeared into the forest. She put her sword away. What did I do to scare them? The blade's name alone scared them. She climbed back onto the horse.
"Well, you could have told me, I wouldn't have worried," Bryn said as they began to walk again, "I didn't know that that was an elemental blade, are you sure?"
"Yes, why? Why did they say that I might go crazy?" She said as they continued their trip. Bryn sighed, and hesitated to explain it.
"Well, the blade that Hugo had, was the Demon's Claw, a deadly elemental blade, that can only be stopped by the Angel's Wing, the counterpart to its strength, like yours, it has to have a weakness, but the location of the angelic blade is unknown, he might as well just have both at this point, he is near unstoppable."
"What is mine weak against?"
"The Steel Inferno, if I remember well, the fire elemental blade," Bryn said, "There are thousands of these swords, from the basic elements to the more powerful, like life and death or angelic and demonic, you have a basic one, the base elements, but hey, it is more powerful than the regular sword and requires a certain amount of use to master."
"How far are we from the shores of Noxus?"
"You mean Noshima?"
"Yes, I am just used to the old names, before the people separated after the empires fell," She said as they galloped, "Just answer my question."
"Maybe a day away, we could stop at the next town and rest in an Inn or a tavern, maybe we could find some more information."
"Yeah, let's do that, I think I need some rest," She yawned, "Talking to everyone in the town was tiring."
"Well, if you want to find him, it will get more and more necessary."
"Hopefully we don't draw any problems."
"Don't worry, I'll deal with any drunken folks."
"I can handle my own, thank you very much," She rolled her eyes, "Now just focus on the road and getting us to a town."
