The teacher in front of Relenah turned back around and started walking towards the dormitory. Letting out another sigh, she silently followed from behind.
Looking closer at the dormitory, she could see several small fountains built to the side of the building, as well as a giant fountain at the top of the building. She could also see several students wearing light blue robes walking around with heavy books snuggled in their arms.
Some of the students noticed her too and gave her a curious look when they saw she was a new student. Relenah continued looking around and saw that there were male and female students alike walking around the dormitory.
Wait, does that mean the dormitory is mixed for both genders?!
Relenah gulped at the thought and then cleared her throat to get the attention of the teacher in front of her, "Teacher, do the boys and girls both live in this dormitory?"
The teacher didn't turn his head when he answered, "That's correct."
"Isn't the academy worried that it might cause some problems?" She continued asking.
"This academy is only a stepping stone for an elementalist. If the students have already gotten distracted by such affairs then they will never make it in becoming a successful elementalist," the teacher answered solemnly.
Relenah gulped but then she nodded her head in understanding. She looked around again and saw that the students didn't even find it weird interacting with the opposite gender.
Perhaps she really was overthinking it.
Relenah continued following the teacher as he walked inside the dormitory. When she walked through the front entrance, she could see a long desk that was nestled in between two giant staircases that led upstairs.
A middle-aged lady was sitting behind the desk with papers in her hands. She was mumbling to herself and would occasionally take out a stamp and stamped a paper.
The teacher that was leading Relenah cleared his throat, which cause the middle-aged lady to lift her head in question. When the lady saw the teacher, she stacked the papers to the side and gave him her full attention.
"Yes, how may I be of service today?" the lady asked politely.
The teacher turned around and gave Relenah a look. She took that as her que and stepped forward near the desk, "Nice to meet you, my name is Relenah. I'll be in your care from now on," she bowed her head slightly.
The middle-aged lady smiled appreciatively before turning her attention back to the teacher, "So, which class is she in? I'll have her settled straight away."
"Class S," the teacher said in a clear voice.
As soon as the middle-aged lady heard him, she stiffened before she turned her attention to Relenah, and then she turned her attention back to the teacher.
When the lady saw that the teacher was being completely serious, she calmly got up from her seat and walked towards Relenah.
"Welcome to the magic academy, miss Relenah. My name is Esther, I am the person in charge of the water elemental dormitory. If you have any questions or problems in the future please don't hesitate to ask me," she bowed her head slightly at Relenah.
Relenah was shocked but then she quickly bowed back at Esther, "Thank you."
"I'll leave her in your capable hands then," the teacher that was quiet up until now finally spoke before he quickly turned around and walked out without even a glance back.
Relenah was about to ask him some questions but seeing as the teacher already left, she let out a sigh and turned her attention back at Esther.
"Please follow me, I'll show you where you'll be staying at during your stay in this academy," Esther gave her a polite smile and then slowly made her way behind the desk.
Relenah looked at her in confusion but silently followed Esther. When they both reached a wall that was in between the two giant staircases, behind the desk, Esther suddenly lifted a deep blue colored crystal.
As soon as the crystal touched the wall, the wall disappeared and Relenah gaped when she saw the wall transforming into what looks like a tiny room with a glowing circle on the floor.
"This teleportation circle will take you directly to your room, please step inside," Esther gave Relenah a little push and Relenah found herself suddenly standing in the middle of the tiny room.
"This crystal will be your room key from now on. You don't have to worry about losing it, it's enchanted so that if you ever lose it, it will automatically be teleported to me," Esther placed the crystal in Relenah's hands before she took a step back.
Before Relenah could blink, her surroundings suddenly changed, and she found herself standing in the middle of a spacious living room and dining area.
Relenah slowly turned around and was amazed at the luxurious furniture in the room. The living room was big enough to host a small party and the table was long enough to seat ten people. She could see there were several doors lining the walls. Taking a deep breath to calm herself down, she randomly picked a door that was behind her.
When she opened it, she could see that it was a tiny room a small circle on the floor. It looked similar to the room that was behind the desk that she went through earlier. She assumed this was how she was going to leave her room for classes.
Relenah closed the door and then turned around and picked the door that was to her right side. When she pushed open the door, she was surprised to see a medium-sized kitchen. The kitchen looked clean and spotless and had many cooking tools. She was now glad that her mother had taught her how to cook back when she was young up till now.
She closed the door and then made her way to the door that was on the left side of the room. Pushing the door open, Relenah found herself in what looks to be a library and study room. There were tall bookshelves lining the walls that stretched from the floor up to the ceiling. The bookcases were so tall that there were even several ladders placed against the bookshelves.
In the middle of the room were soft-looking couches placed on top of a thick rug. There was a mahogany-colored desk placed in the room atop a small platform. The desk was placed in a way that it overlooked the whole room. Relenah tilted her head and she could faintly see the outline of a fireplace tucked in a corner of the room.
She closed the door before turning her attention to the last door in the living room. The last door was placed across the teleportation room.
Relenah assumed the last door would lead her to her sleeping area. As soon as she reached the door, she turned the handle and found herself staring at a giant king-sized bed. The bed sheets looked like it was made from silk and the color matched the sky. The pillows looked like they were clouds.
Relenah suddenly found herself running straight at the bed. As soon as she was within range, she jumped and landed softly in the middle of the bed. She couldn't help the delighted sigh that escaped her mouth. She felt like the bed was melting into her body.
From the corner of her eye she could see another door to the side of the room. She reluctantly pushed herself off the bed and gave her new bedroom another glance and saw that there were two doors in her room, minus the door that connected to the living room.
She chose the door that was to her right and was relatively surprised to see a giant closet. The closet wasn't what surprised her though, it was the clothes that were hung up inside the closet. She could see that they were almost identical to the robes she saw the other students wore. The only difference was that the robes in her room had gold thread embroidered onto it.
She couldn't help herself from taking one of the hanging robes. When she saw the robe in front of her fully, she couldn't help but marvel at the intricate designs. The golden thread was sewn in a way that it looked like something a noble would wear.
With the robe in hand, Relenah made her way to the other door at the side of the room. When she opened the door, she smiled. Her guess was correct. The last door was indeed a bathroom. The tiles were a pristine white but the utilities in the bathroom were a deep blue color. The sink, the toilet, even the bathtub was all a deep blue color.
Relenah carefully hung up the robe at the back of the bathroom door and then shrugged out of her old clothes before folding them neatly and placing them in a basket beside the door. She walked towards the bathtub and was happily surprised at all the products placed beside the tub.
After taking a nice warm bath, Relenah dried herself off and then excitedly put on her new uniform. The robe felt like silk when it hung on her body. Relenah took her sleeve and felt the cloth and was surprised that, not only did it feel smooth to the touch, it was also quite resilient.
Relenah let out a sigh and then left the bathroom. Sitting down on the large bed, she contemplated what she should do next. The facial paralyzed teacher didn't tell her anything after taking her to the dormitory.
She snapped her fingers as a thought came to her. She could just ask Esther.
Relenah got off her bed and quickly walked towards the teleportation room. She could see a blue colored crystal sitting on a small table beside the door. She grabbed it and decided to hang it around her neck when she saw that it looked like a necklace.
She opened the teleportation door and stood inside. As soon as the door closed a bright light caused her to close her eyes. When she opened them, she found herself still in the teleportation room. She opened the door in confusion but was surprised to see that she was now back in the lobby.
She could see Esther standing a few feet in front of her. Without wasting another second, she walked up to Esther.
"Esther, I have a question about my classes," Relenah asked politely.
Esther looked up when she heard Relenah's voice and then gave her a big smile, "Right, I almost forgot to give you your class schedule."
Relenah continued to watch as Esther started gathering pieces of paper.
"This is your class schedule. All of your books were already sent to your study room," Esther gave a thin booklet to Relenah.
Opening the booklet, Relenah could see it had information about all of her classes for the next year.
"Thank you so much," Relenah bowed her head at Esther in thanks.
"You're welcome, your introduction classes should start in an hour. You can use this time to familiarize yourself with the academy grounds. The building for S class students are right here," Esther turned the page in Relenah's booklet and then pointed to a golden colored building.
Relenah scanned the map and found that the academy was arranged in a way that the different element dormitories were surrounding the main building, which she assumed was the training area as well as where most students had their classes in. She noted that the S class was placed separate from the main building but was still near it.
Thanking Esther, Relenah took her leave and left the dormitories.
