Chapter 56 - 56. Gods can be dicks too.

{Lynne}

I waited until the dead of night, all of them fast asleep. I slipped out of my room door, made my way downstairs, and outside.

The crisp, cold air greeted me, my breathe coming out as vapor.

How I wish I could just don my fur, but I can't. Least I'm witnessed by the throngs of people still on the streets.

Street torches illuminate the main streets, and so I took to the back alleys.

Fortunately the moron I'm tracking also took the back alleys, looking to avoid people as much as I.

He probably thought I couldn't track him; I may not have as good a nose as Eric, but I can still hunt down a stinky elf.

I swiftly moved through the city, like a specter.

I'm not as nimble in this form, but I can still move better than any human.

I followed his scent through the city; the fishing docks, tanning area, sewage outlet, and others until I got to the wall surrounding the city on this side of the river.

The fact that he went through the smelliest parts of the city tells me that he knows of my true nature, but scent is just one of the ways I know how to track prey.

Following the faint tracks he left, I find a cleverly hidden tunnel leading out from under the wall, but not hidden clever enough for me.

I swiftly went through it, and came out on the other side of the wall.

After around five hundred yards, the grass turned into untamed wilderness.

I looked around to see if any where spying on me, and once I saw none were around, my hand went to my necklace to turn off this damnable human transformation.

Snap!

A twig breaking stopped my hand immediately.

I again looked around, to again, see no one.

I quickly decided to leave the transformation alone.

I can kill a stupid elf in this form, but I can't afford anyone here to know I'm a beastman.

I shouldn't even be risking going after him, but I have no choice.

He is a fire that needs to be put out.

The message stated not only my real name, but also that he wanted the object I had stolen.

Meaning he was hired by him, and the moron probably thinks I have it on me.

I headed into the forest, using mana to increase my speed.

If someone is following me, I'd like to see them keep up with me now.

The trees blurred past me as I moved.

The same tricks he used to disguise his tracks, made it easier to track him now.

I just have to follow the stank.

I could tell when I was nearing him, the stank was getting more potent with every step.

I pulled out my blades, pumping mana into them.

As I entered a clearing, I saw him, standing there looking triumphant.

I immediately stopped, and looked around.

This was a trap!

Before I could do anything, I was yanked off my feet by magic.

I landed with a thud at the feet of a rinea.

"Oh, dear me, it's Lynne, or is it Lyra now?"

I jumped up, ready to eviscerate him, but he just swatted my weapons away, and kicked me in the chest.

I flew back a dozen feet.

As I tried to get up, an elf kicked me in the face.

"Where is it, bitch?!"

I looked up, and flinched due to the pain.

Definitely got a few broken bones, but I know now that there's twenty guys surrounding me.

A decent portion of these assholes are weak, low-rank assuredly.

He wouldn't send weaklings like that after me, so that means this yahoo had to hire local talent after some of his men died.

Which means if I can just get past them, and get into the forest, I can escape.

Just as I was about to try, a crushing weight pushed me down further.

The elf went ahead and started stepping on my hand for the fun of it, and pulled out a blade.

"Don't kill her. We need her to talk. Besides, I promised my men a living fuckdoll this time."

That fucking rinea said.

"Really? Thanks boss!"

One of them said.

A facla was less happy.

"Are you sure Holt? He wants her alive."

"Yes, I'm sure Ivar, we can just stop by a healer after we're finished. We'll have to cut off her limbs to stop any attempt at escape."

The facla laughed.

"Are you sure you just don't want a snack while we ride?"

The rinea shrugged.

"The parts y'all be fucking will still work. Why don't you start her off?"

I have to break free!

I struggled against the invisible weight on top of me, but couldn't even budge an inch.

"You heard him, move it, I'm first."

The facla made his way over to me, his weirdly shaped dick out and growing.

I struggled some more.

"Yeah, keep struggling. It makes it more fun. Well, more fun for me, but for you? You won't be able to shit right for a..."

Wham!

An invisible enemy slugged that arrogant bird so hard that he flew a couple of yards.

The enemy turned visible.

"Jay?!"

Jay stood there, blood dripping from his hand.

"Aaaaah! My eye! The bastard punched my eye in!"

The facla screamed, like a bitch.

"So, you had their pet follow you for protection?"

Holt said.

"Not that it will matter. You should've brought more than one stupid li..."

"{Flare}!"

A blinding light filled everyone's eyes.

"{Healing palms}!"

Warmth spread through my body, lessening the pain.

I felt him grab me up.

When my vision cleared, I was somewhat healed, and Jay was carrying me away.

"Argh!"

Before we could get away however, the one using telekinesis grabbed Jay into the air. Causing me to fall to the ground.

"That fucking beast can use spells?!"

One of the men screamed, his hand outstretched as he came closer to us.

"Yeah, I can also do this!"

Jay shot a web at the idiot, pulled him off his feet, and letting him smack his head on the ground.

Due to his focus being lost as he hit his head, Jay dropped to the ground.

Before the guy could get back up, Jay was on him. Mauling the shit out of him with his claws.

"{Light ray}!"

The facla shot a beam of light at Jay.

It hit his arm, and semi dug into his flesh before his skin took on a crystalline look, and the rest of the beam was reflected.

The hole it made healed instantly.

Gods above, I'm jealous of that healing power.

"{Boulder}!"

A big rock shot out at the facla.

"{Light step}!"

The bird disappeared and reappeared in front of Jay faster than a blink of an eye.

He got punched Jay, so hard an audible sound rang out.

Jay went back a couple of inches, but Ivar got the brunt of that massive blow.

He recoiled back, holding his arm.

"What the fuck are you made of?!"

Instead of answering, Jay swiped at his throat, only to be reflected off his mana barrier.

Jay jumped backwards, blurred as he ran forward, and used that speed to punch him in face again.

His barrier still held strong, protecting him from getting further injured, but it flung him backwards dozens of yards.

Something's wrong, Jay already killed one, and beat up another of their men, but none of them look worried.

They aren't even trying to fight him.

Jay blurred as he ran to me.

"{Hardened earth spear}."

Jay stopped with a huge hole blown threw his stomach.

He looked down at the new hole shocked, flipped the sky the bird, and then collapsed.

"So, this is who you chose to protect you? Granted, if it was a Mid-rank, it would have been more troubling."

Holt calmly stated, as he walked over to me, and knelt down.

"How about you tell me where it is, and after my men are done with you, I make sure you accidentally succumb to your injuries. I can assure you that though it will be painfully slow, it will still be better than what he'll do to you."

So, this is how I die. Not from the guards finally finding and hanging me, but from some dumb mercenaries I shouldn't have been stupid enough to fall for their trap.

Not only that, but Jay... I mean my pay day... is dead.

The only option left is to provoke them into killing me now rather than later.

"Why don't you take your offer, and shove..."

"What the fuckity fuck is going on?!"

One of the mercs interrupted me, while pointing at Jay.

He was a blob, like when he's transforming, except this time he's glowing.

The glop he became started to coalesce, taking the rudimentary shape of a human.

That shape then firmed up, looking like a female.

A drop dead gorgeous female.

She looked like a Noxian, except she had vibrantly multicolored feathers mixed in with her curly hair, and running down her arms and legs.

And when she opened her eyes they were the color of fresh snow, then the clearest water, the turbulent stormy sky, fire in the darkest night, and they kept changing hues.

She was naked, completely, except for two gauntlets.

A flowery scent flowed off of her skin, and filled me, stirring up... desires.

The overly warm night air clung to my skin as I stared at her.

"She's gor... gurk!"

He... she... Not-Jay! Used light step to blink right in front of the elf who spoke, and jabbed a mana spike into his throat.

Another merc decided to run his mouth as well.

"Shit on a..."

Splat!!!!

In a split second, Not-Jay went a hundred feet, and kicked his head.

Causing it to explode, send brains, blood, and bone flying up into the night air.

Before her feet even touched the ground she tossed another spell.

This one sounded like thunder, and violently ripped apart two more men.

Finally breaking out of their stupor, the rest of the mercs attacked.

One shot a solid chunk of ice at her, only for her to grab it with the telekinetic spell that was used on us, and fling it back at the bastard faster.

It tore the entirety of his upper body off.

The rest attacked with their weapons.

Even not using light step, Not-Jay was almost too fast to track with the eye.

She ripped them apart, tearing off limbs as soon as they were in her grasp.

One lucky son of a bitch got away, and started running away like a little bitch.

Not-Jay raised her hand, and shot a light ray, killing the coward easily.

"That's my spell! How does that thing know my spell?!"

Ivar raved.

"{Light hands}{light step}!"

His hands glowed, and he appeared before Not-Jay.

She flicked away his hands, and grabbed his face.

Her hands then started to glow as well.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaah!"

Ivar yelled as his face burned away.

He fell down dead.

She then pointed at Holt, and then motioned him to come at her.

The message was clear, you're going to die next.

"Hahaha! You think just because you killed those weaklings you're a match for me?"

Holt calmly walked towards her.

"{Hardened earth spear}!"

Holt threw out the same spell he used before, except this time the spell got blown apart by a telekinetic spell.

"What?! {Crystal armor}{earth shaker}!"

A crystalline armor covered Holt, and the ground shook.

Shaking originating from Not-Jay lessened his shaking, and she was at him slugging him in the chest.

His armor cracked as he sailed backwards.

He dug his feet into the ground to stop himself.

He looked down at the cracks, confusion filling his eyes.

"{Stone slab}!"

A huge slab appeared above her, only for her to punch it to dust.

Using that as a distraction, Holt vanished from view as he moved faster than my sight can track to slash her face.

His claws - that didn't pierce her skin - was flinging her to the side, and at the same time she side kicked him.

Their simultaneous hits sounded like thunder, blowing them apart.

They both landed hard, but she was up first.

She ran up to him, and kneed him in the snout.

In mid-air he swatted her with his sinewy tail, causing her to smash into the ground.

She was back up in a heartbeat, trading more blows with him.

Each blow deafening, and almost too fast to see.

The only reason I could see was because right before they connected they would slow down, as to not wreck themselves on their opponent's defense.

I don't understand what's going on, she's moving faster than me, and I'm a Mid-rank!

Though the fight was as brutal as they come, there was a clear winner, or at least going to be winner.

Not-Jay was standing mostly unfettered by injury, while Holt's armor was all but gone and he was leaking blood from cuts in his skin.

Holt also seeing this glanced between me and her, and then he threw a chunk of hardened earth at me.

Not-Jay flashed in front of me to stop it.

A solid kick turned it into dust.

When the dust cleared she was grinning at him.

Holt lost his shit.

"You think you're special?! Making me bleed!"

He beat his chest.

"I'm a fucking High-rank! You're nothing to me!!! {Earth golem armor}!!!!"

Mana surrounded him, hardening, and turning him into a fifteen foot tall rock monster of death.

"Roooar!!!! I'm gonna rip your fucking head off, and..."

Without being flustered, or letting him finish, Not-Jay activated light step, and went for him.

Holt moved at an impossible speed, especially considering his new mass, and backhanded her away.

Not-Jay caught herself by shooting flames out of her feet.

As soon as she landed, she shot a light ray at him. It just hit him, and did jack shit.

Flames burst from her feet as she surged for him.

He tried to hit her again, only for her to use force bubble in mid-air to throw off her trajectory, used spark feet to get above him, and then again to smash her fist on his rocky head.

A series of cracks appeared on Holt's rugged skin, but it didn't slow him down in the least.

As she was using spark feet, force bubble, and webs to float around him while getting some more crack forming hits in, he was doing his darndest to land a solid hit on her.

Each movement of his ruptured the ground, and caused decompressive airblasts that destroyed the surrounding forest.

Fortunately for me their fighting was aimed away from where I am, unfortunately I can't move from the indent in the ground I'm in least I get blown away or outright killed.

Finally, after being littered with cracks all over his body, Holt managed to hit her.

She flew back, mangled, but rapidly healing.

"Did you really think you could stop me?!!"

Holt thundered, stomping his way over to her.

"Mid-rankers like you are super human, but High-rankers like me? We're more, we're perfect! I am a living god!"

He screamed at the heavens.

"Hahahaha!"

Her laughter out did his ranting.

He glared at her.

A heavy pressure filled the air, the mana was restricting.

I could barely stay on my knees.

"You dare..."

She stood up, completely nonplussed by the pressure.

"You're no god, you're just a dumbass cunt-rag who's too much of a rat-shit to realize that you've already lost."

Not-Jay spoke, and she's a bigger shit mouth than I expected.

"What?! You haven't..."

"Or realize that I was just running my mouth to distract you, and give myself ample time to heal and do this!"

She burst forward, formed a mana spike, threw it into him as she passed, and landed in front of me.

He was worried for a split second, until he noticed nothing was happening.

"Was that supposed to do something?"

He said, as he calmly ripped it out, and started to walk over to us.

"You stupid cunt, I'm a god, and you can't kill a go... What the fuck?!"

The cracks were glowing, showing that they were in fact glyphs.

Glyphs, that she must have placed there using Jay's crafting ability he often uses by masking them as hits, and glyphs that was in the process of blowing the fuck up!

He stopped in his tracks to use his power to try and undo what was happening, he wasn't succeeding.

I could feel the oppressive weight of mana weighing on me, I got flattened to the ground as the mana in the surrounding area got pulled into the glyphs, making the - to be - explosion more potent by the second.

Not-Jay placed her hand out, and an ice bulwark larger than Flora ever made appeared in front of us both, and she kept feeding it more mana, causing it to keep growing.

"No, what did you do?! Wha....."

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM---PHOOOOOOOOSHHH!!!!!!!!!

An ear splitting explosion battered the shield Not-Jay made, the wall cracked and groaned, but it held - barely.

As quickly as it began, it ended.

The remnants of the bulwark fell apart, revealing a severely burnt Holt.

All of his fur was gone, lesions covered him leaking puss, and his skin looked like molten wax.

One of his eyes was being covered by a flap of flesh.

"Wh... wha... the... ell... ar... ou?!"

He wheezed out.

Not-Jay laughed a cruel laugh.

"Do I really need to spell it out for you?"

She started to walk to him, vegetation growing under every step she took.

"I guess I could."

She held out her hand.

"After all, it was only because of you and your men that I was able to manifest in the first place."

As she walked, a sword of pure flames appeared in her hand.

She gave it a couple of playful swings.

"Ugh... wu..?"

"You really can't sense them, huh?"

The flames of her sword turned a royal blue, and similar colored shapes started forming in the air all over the place.

"You were a real shitty being, like the last piece of shit from a dung beetle's ass, and the pure hatred they feel for you drove them to stay, and to even sacrifice a part of their souls to me."

"W..o?"

She spread arms out wide.

"Them!"

The blue colored shapes took on the forms of people; men, women, and children of dozens of species.

"The innocent souls you slaughtered couldn't move on, their anger wouldn't let them. So, they call up into the aether!"

She gazed at the night sky, and then back to him.

"Can you guess what they're asking for? What one word they repeat over and over again? Willing the will of the universe to act?"

The souls of the dead burst into raging flames.

"Kill!"

"Kill!"

"Kill!"

"Kill!"

"Kill!"

"Fuck!"

"Fuck!"

All of the other ghosts stopped chanting when they heard those words, we all looked over at a couple of the ghosts raping the newly made ghosts of Holt's men.

The other normal ghosts stepped away from those pervert ghosts.

One of the pervert ghosts saw this, and tapped the other one on the shoulder.

"What? Can't you see I'm busy?!"

He snapped at her.

"Is this okay? The other ghosts are avoiding us."

He rolled his ghostly eyes.

"Of course it's okay, you dumb broad! The gods didn't take us to heaven because they realized we didn't fuck nearly enough! That means everything is fair game now!"

The female ghost pondered this while staring up at the stars.

"That makes... complete sense! Hey!"

She noticed the ghost of Ivar was trying to escape.

Seeing that, she ran over, punched him down to the ground, and - when he tried to slash her with his talons - grabbed his arm and rent it the wrong way.

"Aaaaaah!"

"Stop struggling, I'm trying to rape you! You're a sex slave now!"

Everyone was looking at them weirdly.

"I see you visited Feuerdorf." Not-Jay said. "I wouldn't have done that, those people are insane."

As she kept walking, more of his men's ghosts appeared. Only to be set upon by the aggrieved.

Their bodies ripped apart, only for them to reappear whole, and get set upon again and again.

"Hat's... appenin...?! The'r... rong!"

"Oh, that? They might have been strong in the flesh, but the soul? Yeah, no.

All of you are the same, worrying about making your flesh as strong as possible to avoid death, but never sparing a thought for your soul. When I kill you, they'll do things that'll make you wish for oblivion, but they won't give you that. No, they stayed here on this plane of existence just so they could hold you here, and torture you for an eternity. You'll feel everything they do to you, and the pain will never go away."

She broke out a creepy smile.

"It'll be your very own slice of eternal torment."

Holt fell back, and started slowly crawling away.

"No! Pare... me!!! I... ill... be... a... etter... an! I... on't... wan... oo... ie!"

Not-Jay casually caught up to, and kicked him onto his back.

"Mer..y!"

"Mercy?" She laughed.

"Now, why would I ever do that? It would take all of the fun out of it!"

She kept smiling, and released her power.

Wave after wave of oppressive mana hit me, causing me to soil myself.

Her power seems endless!

The ghosts' forms started to flicker, and she stopped releasing her power.

"Emon! U... re... a emon!"

She amusingly shook her head.

"Demon? No, I'm something way more scary than a paltry thing that comes in the night for your soul."

She knelt down, and got real close to his charbroiled face.

"I'm a god."

Holt joined me, and soiled himself. Although no one would be able to truly tell, the stench coming from him would already turn the stomach of the dead.

"A... od?!"

"Albeit a new one, but it's not as if that will really matter to you. The dead don't worship."

"Nu! Leese... u... re... a... od! U... an't!"

She smiled.

"Burn!"

She stabbed him, and for a singular heartbeat nothing happened.

Then, he burst into flames.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!"

The fire consumed him absolutely, leaving only a pile of smouldering ash.

As he opened his eyes as a ghost, hoards of angry eyes looked back at him.

He flung up an arm, trying his darndest to cast a spell, but the only thing that happened was that a small kid ghost grabbed his arm and easily broke it.

Then, threw him with ease.

"Aaaaah! Wait! Spare me!"

He yelled at the kid.

"I know you're angry that you're dead,"

He floated upright.

"But I'm dead too! Hurting me won't bring you back. So, can't we just let bygones be bygones? Maybe then you could find peace, and move on."

"Like I said, begging like a pathetic little bitch."

"You!"

A man I recognized as the one we saved from that camobeast stepped out from the host of ghosts.

"Yeah, me, and no one's going to spare you. You did more than just kill us, you stole our future! And we're going to make you pay. Unfortunately for you there'll be no end in sight, we got all of eternity to fuck you up."

Holt was eyeing an opening in the gang of ghosts.

"Go on, run. It'll make it more fun."

One of the other ghosts said.

Holt took that slight chance, and took off.

Only to be tripped, and set upon.

The ghosts ripping him apart slowly.

Then, they all started to fade away. Going to wherever ghosts go, and dragging Holt and his men with them.

The last to go was the dad.

Our gazes locked, and a surge of stabbing pain bloomed behind my eyes.

Allie! The name along with the burning desire to find and protect her burned itself into my mind.

"What the fuck!"

I yelled as I grabbed my head.

"I'm sorry, but please, find her."

The dad told me as he disappeared.

"Shit!"

I looked over at Not-Jay and she is melting, literally!

"Looks like they took their excess energy with them. I won't be able to hold this form for much longer."

She wasn't looking at me, but I had the distinct impression that she was talking at me - not to me, but at me.

"Are you talking to me, um, Jay?"

"It's Patty, and obviously, idiot."

Patty?! As in Jay's imaginary person he talks to! Not only is she real, but a god as well!

Shit!

I ain't as bad as most, but I'm no saint. Is she omniscient?! Does she know what I'm doing for Siel?! Is she going to smite me?! Jay healed me somewhat, but not enough for me to be able to outrun a fucking god!

This is how I die, FUCK!!!

I would soil myself if I hadn't already.

"I,"

Here it comes! I shut my eyes.

Hell can't be that bad, right?!

"Will need you to carry me."

My eyes snapped open.

"Eh?!"

"I said you'll have to carry me, clean the shit from your ears. Those damn assholes left me high and dry! I'm burning through the excess mana they gave me, and will be turning back into Jay. He's gonna be fucking useless because of the drain I put on him, and so you're gonna carry me back to the city. Do I need to dumb it down any further for you?"

I shook my head.

"Good. I mean, is it too much to ask that the fucking help be of any real help? Also, I saved your fucking ass, you owe me. Heck, even you carrying me back won't repay your debt to me. I wonder what Flora would do? Maybe I should charge you for saving you? It's not like you could refuse, you'd be terrified that I'd smite you."

She kept talking to herself like that - completely ignoring me - until she fully melted into goo, and then was reformed as Jay.

Who was snoring away without a care in the world.

I went and grabbed him by the tail, and started to drag him back to Meerburg.

I met a god today, an actual god, and she's a fucking dick!
