The guy releases his grip, and goes back to the side of the building he came from. He brings out a basket that seems like a picnic basket.
"I'm sorry I did that to you... I just want to do this with you. Can you have a little picnic with me here just for today?" The guy asked. Kanade is confused.
"No no no! That's not how you ask a girl to have a picnic with you!" Kanade said.
"Oh... I'm really sorry!" The guy apologised. He didn't seem to have any experience with girls before, so Kanade forgave him.
"You need to treat girls with care. If you forced on them like what you did just now, they won't forgive you at all!" Kanade said.
"I see... I'll reflect on my mistakes..." The guy said as he sets up the picnic on a shady place.
"I can smell something nice from here. What do you have there?" Kanade asked.
"Oh, that's something I made myself." The guy said.
"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself... My name is Kawasaki Kaoru from class 2-C. My family run a catering service business, I learned how to cook to inherit my family business." Kaoru said.
"Isn't that nice? Having good food every day." Kanade asked.
"Yeah, I love cooking, I put in all my effort to make people who eat them happy." Kaoru said.
"I see, I hope you can make more people happy with your cooking." Kanade said.
"There... Done. You can try them, it's all for the two of us." Kaoru said. Little did he know that Kanade likes food a lot.
"Okay... I will take this one, that one, and that one!" Kanade picked almost every type of food that is presented in front of her.
"Wow, I never know you have such an appetite." Kaoru said.
"Uh! It's just because I'm hungry after all!" Kanade said.
"It's alright. I just want you to eat. Looking at you eating my cooking is enough for me." Kaoru looked away into the distance.
"Is there a problem?" Kanade asked.
"No, it's nothing. Please enjoy the food." Kaori said. Kanade resumes eating, thinking whether her decision to stay is a good idea.
"Oh no! I should head back now!" Kanade said as soon as she finished eating.
"I'll clean up, you should go back." Kaori said.
"I'll be off then!" Kanade opened the door gently and left. The problem with the door knob is that it is only openable if you twist it gently. That is why she was unable to open the door.
"Guess I will have no regrets after this..." Kaoru thought to himself.
Kanade pops her head into the science lab, and quickly presented herself in front of her fellow club members.
"I'm sorry! I had some errands to run just now!" Kanade apologised.
"O-oh... You went up to the rooftop is it?" A club member asked.
"Eh?! How did you know?" Kanade flustered.
"I heard from Kaoru, he said he wanted to do something with you before he drop out of school." A club member said.
"What? He's dropping out?" Kanade is surprised.
"Eh...? By the way you sounded, did you just DID SOMETHING with him?" Another club member teased.
"No! He just asked me to eat his food!" Kanade replied.
"Oh, I do remember he snuck in a basked today. So it's that huh?" A club member deduced.
"Poor guy, his father passed away, he needed to support his family by working." A club member said.
"I see..." Kanade sounded sad after understanding his motive of doing this.
"I tried persuading him, his mom even said that he should at least finish high school before thinking of working. I guess, he's too adamant to change his mind." A club member said.
Club activities concluded, Kanade is still deep in thoughts, thinking about what to do with Kaoru's situation.
"Kana-nee, what are you thinking?" Keita asked.
"Oh... It's about the person I met a while ago..." Kanade replied.
"I see... Good luck." Keita said as he coldly walk pass Kanade, heading home.
"H-Hey! Kei-kun, wait for me!" Kanade said as she followed.
The next day, Kanade tried to look for Kaoru in class 2-C.
"Excuse me, is Kawasaki-san in this class?" Kanade asked a student in the class.
"Oh, he's absent today. Probably about his family issue, if the rumours were true, he'd quit school and work in his family's business." The student replied.
"O-Oh... Thanks..." Kanade was surprised, yet she understood his situation.
"I cannot let him give up studying!" Kanade thought. She even went ahead and asked the counsellors about his situation.
"Oh, Kawasaki-kun... He came to us a few days ago, bringing a lunchbox and some free coupons from his family business. I thought he wanted to sneak some exam scores which I would've said no, he just wanted us to hear him out." The counsellor said.
"He said the main chef in his family business seems to want to take over the business for himself, since his business partner is already gone. So, he decided to take his father's place as the co-owner of the business. Pretty crazy, huh?" The counsellor added.
"Well, the food's been tasty. Guess good thing he came for us. He won't take any of our advices at all. But we all have a good meal. If you feel like want to eat some good food, give them a call." The counsellor gave a coupon from Kaoru's family business to Kanade.
"Alright... Here's a lead... I'll explain to my club members that I'm heading home early because I have stuff to do... Done!" Kanade sent a message to her club's group on RAINE.
"Oh... Kei-kun... What should I tell him? Maybe he won't even mind what I'm doing, after all." Kanade dismissed, considering what he did yesterday, he probably wouldn't care about Kanade.
"Although I'm a bit sad... I have to prioritize helping Kawasaki-san first." Kanade thought. With a resolve, Kanade marches towards to Kaoru's place.
