Trembling, as if they were made of fog, buildings were the first thing that attracted Alexander's attention.
The second thing was the general feeling of uneasiness and…
'Depression? That's new for me…'
After that arrived some headache and retches backed by some general weakness.
"It's the Curse Energy, Kid. As we speak, your body is rapidly contaminated by it." – Doctor commented from the side after observing for a bit Alexander's suffering.
'Bastard…' He thought seeing Doctor's amused expression. '[Curse II]'
The flame covered his organs and protected him from the outside.
"Good choice. Your normal fire probably wouldn't last for long with your energy reserves."
*Toc* *Toc* *Toc*
Suddenly many sounds of stone hitting other stone appeared from literally every direction and from every street the square there they emerged from the wall was flooded by many strange creatures.
It was difficult even to define them as "humanoids".
They were only masses of rocks placed together and somehow capable to move.
Some runes were glowing on their "bodies".
Kleid narrowed his eyes as he saw these creatures and stepped forward. 'Now he is going to dispel them!' Thought Alexander excitingly.
The man raised his mechanical hand in front of him. – "[Dispel]"
The creatures paused for a second but then continued to rapidly advance towards their group. – "As I thought." – Sighed Kleid. – "These are not golems but only their bodies controlled by Esprits who possessed them."
"Good solution to their body instability issue." – Nodded John and unsheathed his sword. – "Everyone! Try not to kill these guys. Break their bodies and weaken their energy if possible."
"We're here to save them…"
The last sentence was whispered as a very cold glint appeared in his eyes.
*Boom*
John was the first one to dive in the horde of enemies.
He directly cut the legs to one golem and then disintegrated them with a shot of energy from his sword.
Others also quickly joined the combat.
Alexander immediately spotted the nearest golem and other crew members with extreme tact didn't attack it. 'He needs more experience.' Thought all of them.
The boy himself didn't notice this and assaulted his opponent with rapier stab right in the center of the golem's body.
'Let me see how hard you are…'
"Arrgh…"
The golem, in contrast to his bulky physique, was extremely fast and rock spike appeared, replacing his right hand.
The creature, with a battle roar, dashed towards Alexander.
*Clang*
The rapier met the rock and left some cracks.
The spike met Alexanders body and penetrated deeply inside. '[Life IV]'
The wound was immediately covered by green flames. – "Damn it…" – Alexander retreated some meters away.
'If only I could control two different flames at the same time…'
*Booom* The golem didn't give him enough time to feel regret and stabbed again.
The boy dodged but the golem pressured him. Suddenly another spike grew directly from the creature's body and scratched Alexander's hand.
"Hahahaha. You can't win, Lowlife! I can change my body in any way I like." – The Esprit's voice came from the golem's abdomen. – "And not only."
Suddenly he was surrounded by poison-green liquid. – "[Curse Water]"
'This is getting dangerous.'
"Feel despair, lowly creature!"
Numerous green streams quickly flowed towards Alexander.
His mind was frenetically working. 'What to do? What to do? What to…[Freeze I]'
As the green water was already a few centimeters away from him, on the point of his rapier appeared a lump of ice-blue flame and Alexander drew an ark in the air slashing every stream.
*Crack* *Crack*
With crackling sound, the liquid was frozen.
*Slash* And many small ice shards fell on the ground. Alexander didn't wait a second and jumped towards his opponent.
"What?! That's impossible!!" – The golem made two steps back. – "You should have a different power!"
"Do you mean this one?" – Alexander stabbed forward right in the point where the voice was coming from. The flame from ice blue became purple and rapier penetrated the solid body.
'Release!'
The flame literally exploded inside consuming everything.
A new power suddenly appeared inside his mind: [Water I]
Alexander immediately thought about the girl from his dream who could condense her energy into liquid form. 'Maybe I will be able to do something similar…'
But another golem rushed in his direction and he had to concentrate on the incoming battle.
Other crew members didn't have any problem and the only thing that slowed them down was the order of the Captain to not to kill Esprits.
*BROOOOMMM*
The only one who didn't have to do anything was James.
Lightnings rained on pure golems and hit directly the Esprits inside.
Only screams of pain and curses could be heard on his side. – "Hahahahaha, just come at me! Oh? You can't? And I was thinking that I'm only an inferior creature! Hahahahahahahahaha."
*BROOOOOOOOM*
The only one who did nothing was the Governor. Twayne only stood aside and observed the whole battlefield.
[…]
'Damn it! My energy is nearly all used'
The third opponent was the trickiest one. He somehow immediately understood that Alexander was low on energy so the only thing he did was to defend and counterattack.
If Alexander tried to escape the Esprit would immediately launch a full power assault on him.
And it wasn't the worst part.
'My normal tricks don't work on him…I must catch him unguarded…'
The golem slashed towards his neck. The boy dodged by ducking and tried to stab his opponent's leg. '[Space III]'
The golem made a step back to avoid the hit and counterattacked.
'So, this is how it works…' Alexander's eyes shined. Golem stabbed trying to hit his lung. 'This is my chance!'
He also stabbed.
'[Space III]'
His opponent was unbalanced and could only try to defend.
Alexander rapier's point touched the golem's rocky arm and…went through it like if there was absolutely nothing to stop its route.
The spike penetrated Alexander's shoulder while his rapier was inside his opponent's chest area.
The boy smiled.
"You lost."
'[Burn]'
Suddenly his sword exploded with purple light.

Other crew members already finished their fights and were observing Alexander as he fought.
"His opponent is good…at least for their level." – Said Kleid.
"So is the boy." – Commented Doctor. – "He lacks experience and tries to finish the fight as fast as he can…But it's normal since he has so little energy."
John also added. – "He is talented and would one day become powerful even without such monstrous bloodline, but since he has it…"
"He has fighting spirit!" – James was very satisfied with himself after torturing to near-death state as many Esprits as he could. – "That's the only thing that matters."
"Fat Idiot." – Answered Doctor.
"And who on this ship is not, Doc?" – Captain was observing Alexander as he spoke but suddenly his pupils constricted. James stood up.
Doctor's eyebrows climbed his forehead.
Even Kleid seemed surprised.
All of them saw as the rapier passed through the golem's arm.
'He can already use the Space Energy?!'
"Cap, well…I knew that he had acquired Space Energy since we were the people who gave him the opportunity to do so…But…how the hell can he already use it?!"
Doctor's face was covered by incredulity.
Captain was also shocked. – "I…don't know."
Everybody remained silent. 'I thought that his bloodline was monstrous but it's…something much more powerful.'
Governor Twayne also observed it with curiosity.
"So…that is who you are, boy." – He whispered.
[…]
Alexander directly sat on the ground, exhausted after the fight, but suddenly noticed that something was amiss.
The rest of the crew members were looking at him.
Their gazes very strange.
"Something…wrong?"
John coughed to dispel the awkward atmosphere. – "No, nothing. We only were a bit surprised by the fact that you could already use the Space Energy."
Alexander was surprised. - "Is it such a big deal?"
Everybody's faces became somehow lost. Kleid scoffed. James started laughing loudly. John only smiled. – "Well, yes, it is. But I will explain everything to you later. For now…" – He turned towards Kleid. – "I sense many other golems here. Can you shut all of them down?"
The man thought for a second before answering.
"Yes. There are four types of golems here: Fire, Water, Wind and Earth ones. The ones which attacked us are like…" – He stopped to find a good metaphor. – "…common foot soldiers."
"And I need the four Generals, or, to be more precise, I need their cores."
He raised his arm and above it suddenly appeared an image of four different objects. – "These are the cores which I need to shut down every single golem in the city."
John nodded. – "Do you have some means to locate them quickly?"
Kleid closed eyes for a second and Alexander felt a wave of energy pass by him. After a minute or so he opened them and nodded. – "The generals have a very strong aura of their element, so they are easy to find. Give me the map and I will point the positions."
Captain turned around. – "Ok, lets separate in four groups. This way it will be faster."
"Alexander, you go with James, Law and Doctor towards the Wind General."
The boy nodded. – "Let's go, Lad!"
