"Do we have some sort of a plan?" – Alexander asked while their small group of four was going towards the place marked on the map. – "The General probably is waiting for us."
James lightly shrugged his shoulders. – "And so? Ultimately they are too week to oppose us."
"If I were alone, I would think about some sort of plan, but with these two guys…" – He looked towards Law and Doctor. – "…I'm sure that there is no need."
Law also nodded. – "We will just crush them with overwhelming might!"
His fighting spirit made huge contrast with the benevolent and peaceful energy which always surrounded him.
"Exactly!"
Doctor remained silent but seemingly he also approved this action course.
Alexander could only accept this outcome. 'Maybe they are right. They ARE powerful…'
Imperceptibly a desire to become stronger took root inside his mind.
'It would be great to…one day…'
He had a good fantasy, so he imagined himself raining flames on armies and breaking entire islands. In his mind it was a very cool scene.
Suddenly Alexander felt someone's gaze. As he was about to turn his head Doctor's voice sounded in his head. – "Don't look. Maybe they didn't notice that we noticed…"
[…]
'They noticed us from such a distance…a bunch of monsters…'
"Prepare to attack them. Never come near them. Just shoot from farther you can." – It wasn't a golem, or at least his body wasn't made from rocks, and he had a normal human shape.
On his back there was attached a long chainsword while on the ground on his right there was placed a runic rifle ready to shoot.
There were three golems behind him. They hesitated for a second. One of them stepped forward. – "Lord Ryzel…Do we have a chance?"
"No. We can only hope to weaken them a bit to help our Master." – His face was gloomy, and the atmosphere became heavy. 'We're going to die.' Thought the Esprits.
The golems silently disappeared in different directions.
Ryzel observed the enemies and his gaze stopped for the second time on the boy that he didn't manage to capture the other day. He took the rifle form the ground and mumbled. – "If I had this toy the other day, that kid would be already dead…"
He raised the weapon and took aim. 'Let's start the final dance…' The runes on his rifle started glowing. Many specks of energy started gathering towards the barrel. '…towards my grave!"
He smiled and pressed the trigger.
Three circles filled with runes appeared right in front of the barrel.
*BOOOOOM*
A ray of green energy shoot towards the group of distant enemies.
As it passed through the circles, it became one time larger after each one. In the end it wasn't an energy beam but a large column of energy which shot towards Alexander's group. Suddenly a sense of imminent danger assaulted Ryzel's mind and he immediately stepped back.
A rune flashed under his feet and he disappeared just in time.
A giant black maw bit off half of the building he was standing on.
Meanwhile many other, smaller energy beams, rained on the Alexander's group from every direction.
It were his subordinates who also started their last assault.
[…]
Doctor frowned. – "He is good."
"Hahahahaha, he escaped right from your mouth?" – Laughed James and was immediately hit three or four times.
He completely ignored the shots. - "Hahahahahahah."
Black lines covered Doctor's face.
Alexander was dodging at best of his capabilities but there were too many rays for him so he was constantly covered by greed flames and dodging only these hits which would immediately kill him.
"Hahahahahahahah…"
*BOOOM*
Another beam hit James right on the belly. It was identical to the others, but the fat man was sent flying from the impact.
A red bruise appeared right in the middle of his huge body.
The laugh stopped. The surprise was written all over his face. – "Damn! You're right Doc! His IS good…"
"Law, can you track him?" – Asked Doctor.
The young man shook his head. – "No, he uses Transfer Runes."
"But I can tell you his position once he shoots, and you can destroy the rune…and everything else."
James was in thought.
'Damn, Guys, could you decide quicker?!'
Indeed, for them the energy beams were nothing, but for him it was deadly if he wasn't careful.
"Since he is actively attacking us, I'm sure that he will not escape for now and hopes to weaken us somehow." – Said James. – "So, if we destroy his runes, his will probably come to fight us directly to detonate himself or some other heroic shit…Or he will just die, bitted to death by Doc…Ok, let's do it Law."
Meanwhile Doctor "ate" two entire groups of enemies. But there were still many others scattered around them.
[…]
"No! No! No!"
Ryzel could shot maximum one time before his position was instantly obliterated by the dark mouth or by a lightning rain.
"Still five runes remaining…but I don't have even enough time to charge a full power shot…"
*BROOOOOOM*
A bolt of lightning flew towards his position. 'Damn! Four runes."
He reappeared on another building and started charging his rifle. Immediately a blob of black liquid pounced on him.
He was ready and vanished.
This time rifle was already half charged from the previous position, so… *BOOOOOOOM*
[…]
"What a hell!" – Asked James to Law after getting back on his feet. Another powerful beam hit him. – "He just sacrificed one position to charge his weapon." – Was the answer.
"So, he got another two shots."
James muttered something about being always the target.
"Don't make me tell WHY you are his main target, Fat Piece of Lard." – Commented Doctor.
*BOOOOOOOOM*
James was sent flying.
"YOU BASTARD!"
*BROOBROOOBROOOOOOOM*
His eyes flashed with white light and suddenly twenty pillars of lightning destroyed all the remaining enemies who were shooting towards them.
Alexander let out a relieved sigh. His clothes were full of blood stains and holes. Even though every wound was healed by [Life IV], he still felt pain and had to constantly dodge.
*BOOOOOOOM*
James was resent flying. – "That was his last shot" - said Doctor with a beaming smile as he obliterated another building in the distance. Every time James got hit, his mood became better.
The lightning fatty was covered by bruises and dust. He stood up. – "I will break all of his bones…or whatever Esprits have in their bodies."
[…]
"That's the end." – Ryzel dashed forward without stopping even for a second.
He could sense that someone was observing his every movement now.
To stop, meant certain death in this situation.
He dropped the rifle, gripped his chainsword and ran towards the enemies.
They were in the middle of a small square. Next to dried fountain.
"Bastards, my Master will avenge…" – The last world was drowned by the sound of electricity which engulfed him as he appeared.
'[Wind Shield]'
[…]
"That's better…Hmm?" - James was about to shoot another lightning that he saw the Ryzel's chainsword.
He turned towards Alexander. – "Is that the guy who attacked you yesterday?"
The boy focused on Ryzel and on his weapon. – "Well the weapon it the same…probably it's him."
James smiled… - "In this case…"- …and suddenly stepped back. – "…he is yours."
Law and Doctor didn't say anything and only blocked every escape route for the man.
Alexander stood up and took out his rapier. – "…Ok."
"Hahahahaha, that's the spirit, Lad."
[…]
Ryzel managed to disperse at least half of the lightning strike through his [Wind Shield] but the remaining power was still enormous.
He felt as if he was hit by a mountain and this sensation didn't include the pain from being electrocute. If he wasn't an energy-based lifeform he would be dead.
As he managed to stand up and focused his gaze on the enemies, he was surprised to see the boy who he tried to catch the other day.
'Hmmm?'
He looked around and saw that he could not escape.
But nobody was attacking him. Only the boy was seemingly waiting for him.
'They want me to fight this brat?'
He stepped forward.
'Is it because I attacked him yesterday?'
He grinned.
'Well, it's better than nothing. At least I will kill one of them. Hahahahahaha.'
[…]
Alexander observed his opponent.
'Fortunately, he has no long-range weapons now. Only a chainsword.'
He extended his sword and ran towards Ryzel.
James smiled and prepared to enjoy a good fight. Suddenly he heard Doctor's voice in his head. – 'Hey, maybe we should have told him to be more careful? This guy, his opponent, has a very good gasp of instant-amplifications…'
'Doesn't matter. The lad should be able at least to survive.' – Thought James.
*Clang*
Before the two swords were about to clash a circle filled with runes appeared and the sword's speed instantly doubled taking Alexander by surprise and scratching his shoulder.
A lump of green flame immediately appeared, and the wound quickly closed.
'And don't forget that his life flame is really overbearing.' Finished James.
*Clang* *Clang* *Clang*
He focused on the unfolding fight.
