A voice resounded inside the darkness----
{The age of myth that Mankind forgot completely is coming again....}
{Power is needed after all, for humans to fight against the Supreme Existence}
-------------------
After the ceremony, where the display of Summoning Magic was shown right in front of the students, Takashi and Akane headed to their classroom at the end of the East Wing building while the first year students headed to the training grounds for their tests.
As they were walking, Takashi felt the stares of mockery directed at him ---- gazes of vigilance and exclusion----various feelings suddenly emerged towards him.
"Uwaa, are those students from tier 10 ....?" "I admit the guy does look pretty decent but this doesn't really matter in this era right? If he can't even protect himself, what's the point" "Don't bother yourself with such trash. Associate with them and your magic power will drop to their level" "Can there really be a such a useless student in our Academy? Even though he is a Commoner like us...how can one be so weak in magic and not feel ashamed." "If it was me, I would rather quit than continue being useless"
Various accusations directed themselves towards Takashi as he walked along the corridor towards his class. The various statements against him did not simply come from the Magikas, but from the Commoners as well.
"Don't mind them.....Takashi. These people only love to mock others, especially since we are in the Tier 10 class. I, for one, know that you are not weak at all! Remember,if you ever wanna form a party, I will gladly join you!" Akane tried to cheer him up from the side but Takashi felt that those words from the other students created a complex range of emotions within him, yet, he still smiled and replied: "Of course I don't mind them. How long do you think I have endured such comments already...I am already used to it."
The both of them finally reached their class and Takashi headed to his seat at the corner of the classroom while Akane headed to her own.
"Still carrying the same glum look as usual aren't you, Takashi". Takashi glanced at the male beside him. This male..he was ordinary. His looks were ordinary, his height was ordinary, there was no distinctive feature that could be said or illustrated. However, this was also one of Takashi's close friend, En Ayato.
"Hmph, the same could be said about you. Look at yourself in the mirror before saying others. Although it is good to see you again Ayato."
"Hmmm..the trash of the Academy has finally made his appearance. It is people like you that bring down our reputation."
At the same time, an arrogant voice sounded out and another male approached Takashi with a powerful momentum. This male was slightly taller than Takashi and carried a narcissistic look, with a smirk appearing on his face.
"Long time no see Enshirou Takeru." Takashi simply smiled and replied.
"Hmph, I don't need the likes of you greeting me!"
Just as Enshirou was about to comment on something else, the teacher came in and he reluctantly returned to his seat.
"Hey Trashes! Get back to your seats! It is time for lesson!" A familiar voice resonated throughout the classroom and Christiane-Sensei trotted into the room, her child-like appearance being very amusing as usual.
The lesson carried on as usual and Christiane-Sensei started her lesson.
With the onset of Cosmos, the emergence of Monsters in the human world also began. These Monsters were known as Demon Beasts and took the forms of many creatures, from Serpents to Trolls and even Dragons.
An area taken over and overrun by the Demon Beasts were known as Cancer Grounds, and the magic power of the creatures will transform the land into their own territory, in the forms of labyrinths, deserts and magic forests.
15 years ago, the emergence of the Demon Beasts led to the event known as the 'Great Tokyo Destruction', as the population of Japan was overrun by the presence of various creatures.
The first group of Contractors formed the first Crusaders Order and through the use of Summoning Magic, managed to repel back many Demon Beasts.
However, Cancer Grounds had formed in places all over Japan and the Japanese Government constructed Adamantite walls to prevent the Cancer Grounds from spreading.
"Not only abroad, but also within the country, there exist the threat of
The Spiritual Beasts were inhabitants of an alternate world that brought forth Summoning Magic. Through the vast and deep, psychological sea inside a person's heart ---- Deep down inside, there was a door that led to another world.
Until the very end, the scientific community did not completely understand a human's 'heart' and 'spirit'. It was through this "Door of Heart" that the body contained something that came from an alternative world.
Takashi glanced up at the sky and pondered once again about the his destiny and how he would change his fate.
Not long after, it was time for them to attend practical lessons. Practical lessons were normally conducted in training grounds provided by the school but most of the training grounds were exclusive for the Magikas, with only a small proportion given to the Commoner students. Hence, many classed had to share the remaining few training grounds.
The training ground Takashi's class was heading to was beside the school building, a sports ground surrounded by verdure.
There, many students from the other tier classes were already gathered and they gave a glance to Takashi and his class. Well....this was to be expected. Many of their own students did not look fondly and favorably towards the lower tier classes.
In the training grounds, students sought to improve their magic power through mock battles and develop their own magic spells. Normal Magic Spells, not counting Summoning Magic, was special to every individual, which basically implies that not one user can possess another user's magic. Magic spells were exclusive only to one user.
However, there were many other forms of magic that students were expected to learn and develop. For example, there was
By training in these areas, students could improve their control of magic and increase the amount of magic energy within them, as a higher magic level provides a chance for a student to dive into the depths of the Cosmos in hopes of contracting with a Spiritual Beasts. However, this was rare as most humans would have already contracted with a Spiritual Beast at a young age.
However, by training in these areas of magic, it would allow an ordinary magician to improve their overall mastery of their Magic Spells, which was the main fighting method for Commoner students.
Magikas normally fight using Summoning Magic and rarely rely on the common magic used by most. Even their own unique Magic Spells were considered worthless to the Contractors, as Summoning Magic produced greater magic and destructive output.
Takashi's class then proceeded to form their own sparring groups while he himself went to another corner of the sports ground. Filling a bucket with water, he then squatted and stirred the water inside using telepathy.
Fluid control ---- Fluids like gas or liquid were easier to manipulate using telepathic magic. By getting accustomed to controlling water and fire with common magic, it would allow him to improve his magic spell. At the moment, the only magic spell Takashi could use was 'Misteltein'. This magic was similar to a reinforcement magic, where it granted the user extra defensive magic. However, in front of Summoning Magic, his own magic spell was truly worthless. It was common for a magician to unlock more than one magic spell and most students should have already mastered a couple.
The only thing Takashi was proud of was his handling of the sword. Since a young age, he had already shown a huge interest in sword and he would constantly invoke magic into his sword and train.
"...UWAHHH, he is really playing around with a bucket of water."
"He is really worthless.."
The students around Takashi all threw a mocking gaze towards him.
Although he was similar to these people with the fact that they all could not use Summoning Magic, but Takashi's training seemed to not have any development and was simply pointless
"What are you doing? Is playing around with a bucket of water a specialty magic of yours?"
A blonde haired guy with a black hairband sauntered over towards Takashi and spoke. The surrounding students started laughing.
Moroboshi Shizuya, a class tier 1 Magician and one of the rising stars of the Academy. Even without being a Magika, his basic mastery of magic spells were already levels above the average student.
"This training is not as simple as it seems. If you misjudge your magic wavelength, it would cause ripples and the water would overflow. It will not work unless you maintain a high level of concentration for a long period of time."
"This kind of thing is simple." Moroboshi revealed a provocative expression and kicked the bucket away.
A glare rippled across Takashi's face.
"Since you actually said it like this ---- Do you think i will remain silent forever?"
The anger within Takashi's body was boiling upwards.
Without thinking through due to anger;
"Moroboshi Shizuya, I request a duel with you!"
Hearing these words, everybody in the room, including Moroboshi widened their eyes in shock.
This was the natural reaction. No one expected the worse Magician to even have the guts to challenge one of the strongest Magician in the school.
"You will definitely regret this Trash. I will show you the difference between our magic." Moroboshi spat at Takashi.
