Chapter 20 - Different Meaning (Part 1)

Within a certain forest, there was a river going into a certain path until it suddenly fell down in course, making great falls.

It dropped to the bottom ground, which resulted for another body of water and giving out fanciful mist that spread around its surroundings.

The formed water streamed into a slithering manner towards a distance until it went beyond the eye's limit.

At the land beside, flowers bloomed resplendently pronouncing the spring, along with some fluttering elegant butterflies flittering around.

The sun had rose up, announcing the morning of its glamour.

Wind harmlessly grazed the long blades of grasses while bushes and trees produced rhythmical nature sound.

On a clearing ground, a mansion-like-house superimposed in an imposing feel, a resemblance of modernity in this contrasting age.

The tranquility shrouded everywhere however currently, the anger cries of a white-striped tiger rang everywhere.

"Arrrrghhh Rarrrr"

'What happened?' Gloathiac thought when he appeared with his uncle at the house's door, wanting to feel a homely arrival. There were no items around him, likely emplaced already at the house's basement.

'This is the first time Kitten became like this. Did he eat something?' He came up with an assumption.

Gloathiac then placed down his uncle.

"I'll look at Kitten, uncle. You can greet mom and dad before me." After saying that, he immediately vanished.

He appeared above Kitten as wind assailed his being when he floated at the air. The fluctuation of power gushing out from his pet continued to wild out madly, bellowing everywhere including at him.

The giant girth of the white-striped tiger weighted the grassland below it, as it continued to madly assail its surroundings. Patch and patch of grasses flew everywhere by its wrath, accompanied by dirt and stones.

But it seemed that its crazed attacks did not target the house and exhaustingly prevented itself to not affect it physically.

"Kitten!" Gloathiac blisteringly shouted out. His voice surged with indisputable power that entangled with the creature's mind, calming it.

The white-striped tiger's haphazard bursting power that blew up everywhere suddenly halted as it shifted its direction above the skies, looking at its master.

However, its visage constricted in fierce pain, suffering as it tried to hold something. Its entire body fur that was hued in black and striped with white, was shaking in resolute agony.

In Gloathiac's vision, the tiger's expression was apparent. Its power that frantically leaking out shifted its surroundings like a mirage.

"Is he going to evolve?" Gloathiac muttered.

Before he wasted time, he lifted his hand; his palm glowed in a mixture of verdant green and holy white.

The elements meekly burst out of it in small dots, glittering as it fell down approaching the white-striped tiger.

When those touched its huge beastly body, it slowly seeped inside. The expression of suffering the tiger possessed, swiftly changed into a relaxing one.

The tiger dropped down to the grass with utter exhaustion once its mind finally calmed down. The tragic it had experienced had led its mentality underwent a considerable fatigue.

The elements that sipped through the white-striped tiger's body were connected to Gloathiac. He had identified something that his expression darkened, "Poison"

It was a poison he was not accustomed to, after all the poisonous beasts he encountered. Moreover, it was a mixture of different types of poisons along with some properties of herbs and plants.

"This is not a normal poison!"

This was his first experience in this kind of situation that had led him think,

'Humans?'

After conceiving it, he captured the sight of his house and immediately vanished.

Inside the mansion which was the place of bonding, the dinner area; fluctuation of space suddenly moved and manifested Gloathiac's form.

The scent of blood along with an aroma of wine, ran along his nostrils. Smelling the unusual whiffs and in corresponding to the bloody sight, Gloathiac was in a grave shock, rooted in his standing spot.

His uncle, Orlan, had his whole right arm cut out, gushing blood wildly as his muffled screams were unable to scream out. His mouth was smothered by a ball of sharp wind, preventing any sound from coming out and shredding his mouth and tongue piece by piece.

His neck was held by a black clothed leg and a particular foot forcefully wanted embedded at Orlan's Adams apple. A black sword that pierced the white floor was standing beside Orlan's intersected arm. The dire wound was producing large amount of flowing adhesive red liquid.

The other divided arm was found across to a near chair, as if it was thrown upon brazenly.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator had his back bended. His right hand held the handle of the sword, and the hand was covered by a black glove that slipped the fingers. The dreadful image plastered on the glove was hued in white of the sacred Rikimaru.

To project his body's posture of how his limbs were emplaced, his right leg weighted Orlan's neck. His left hand was at Orlan's mouth, creating the sharp ball of wind that shredded the meat it grazed. Whereas his left leg was placed behind him to hold his balance.

His form seemed to worship a God but it was genuinely just an art of swift killing.

The gruesome pain Orlan felt had his expression twisted to an unimaginable degree.

The perpetrator was an assassin fully clothed in black with another sword sheathed behind his back. He held the same mask during the night he killed the loving couple at this house.

The ruddy luster of the one masked eye, gave off an eerie red light. Whereas, his other exposed eye slit in an insidious gleam. Those horrendous eyes stared at the young kid which was at the side.

"Here I thought I could have tasted more a silent torture."

His chilly voice partaking his half-covered bizarre smile shuddered Gloathiac into horror.

Despite the terrorized screams of his every cell, his body suddenly moved on its own.

He disappeared. In a flash, he manifested behind the assassin.

A straight kick landed on the assassin's face by the unexpected attack. He left his rooted sword, his control of the ball of wind cancelled, and he flew across the table. Until, he dropped unto the chairs, creating debris and shards of broken furniture.

The ground and the house shook in great intensity.

Gloathiac landed behind Orlan and his right hand had already stretched behind. The mixing glow of verdant green and holy white was apparent on his palm.

As Orlan was quickly healed by the mystifying wonders, Gloathiac himself finally rationalized into the current situation. He was still shaking in terror but his eyes formed a moving golden glyph, the darkness of the place was seen through.

The windows were covered with curtains, preventing much light to slip through. Only a small amount of dim brightness had enabled Gloathiac to only see his uncle.

Right now, his eyes perceived the entire area in lucidity. But, it seemed it was better off he didn't activate his eyes.

The carnage of recent evidence of his parents' corpses presented itself and lied wretchedly beside the dinner table. Dried blood painted around, in a scattered manner.

Copious holes were found in Heish, the wounds that had finished secreting blood and began to rot. His agonized expression remained before he died.

Louissa lied in gory above her husband. The clothes at her shoulder were bloodred, with a trace of a sharp slice of a dagger and penetration of a sword. Her head had more definite proof of bloodshed as it had a narrow and long hole, pierced cleanly.

Gloathiac had almost unintentionally stopped his heal for his uncle, seeing the traumatic scene. The hideous forms his parents had, along with a pool of blood that still kept its viscosity and liquidity; profoundly broke him senseless.

But what made it more terrible, was another assassin sat above the two corpses. His hands crisscrossed to his knees as his dreadful face was positioned lower. One eye glowed red while the other uncovered eye gleamed with spine-chilling ferocity.

Disrespect was apparent yet it only enhanced his ghastly image. The darkness eclipsed his face to only see those frightening eyes.

Gloathiac's memories flashed back to his mind.

["Mother, Heish, I've found a fish" Glothiac approached them swiftly, floating a bit higher than the surface of the water.

"Glothiac, how many times I told you, don't wander aimlessly and kill fishes randomly." Louissa scolded her son as she continued, "And don't call your father with his name. Call him father, father!"

"Father is Heish, so he is Heish. If he proved to be stronger than me, I'll call him father." Glothiac seemed to be adamant not calling Heish as a father. "And mother, I didn't intend to kill this fish. It was said in the book, one needed strength to protect than to kill carelessly. This serpent aimed to strike both of you, so I killed it before it could do anything."

"But killing a fish remained as killing a living being. What if it had children to feed? Are you willing to become responsible for it?" Louissa maintained her cold font.

"I don't want to be responsible with serpent babies. I am already contented with the striped-tiger." Glothiac as a kid, was full of words. He continued, "Besides, if I left it alive, it could happen to kill someone aside from you. And those serpent babies, if they will grow up like its mother, I think it is better for them to starve to death."

Louissa wanted to continue to chide her son but was stopped by her husband.

Heish touched at his wife's shoulder as he said, "Let him be. He got a point."

"But Heish, he may take a wrong path." Louissa was in great concern for the growth of her son.]

The terror within Gloathiac had slowly changed into accumulating rage. Pitch-black lines of pure darkness oozed out from his skin and stretched out across his body like wiggled worms.

His appearance was like a devil.

He eyed the sitting assassin in burning wrath. A suppressed voice leaked out from his mouth, sounded like a demonic entity.

"Why are you sitting at them?"

"Them?" The assassin heard it and spoke ferociously, pulling out a dagger from the strap on his right leg, and blatantly stabbed Louissa's cadaver.

"Only mere mortals." He continued. The dagger was drenched inside the woman's body, filled with a decaying blood. The scent of rot rushed in the air and flowed inside Gloathiac's nose.

"You deserve to die!" Gloathiac blared out as he vanished from the spot again.

At this moment, the assassin who was thrown out earlier had taken his foothold and suddenly shouted, with blood on the corner of his lips. "Beware! He has space element!"

Shock was instilled in the voice.

"I kn--." Before the sitting assassin could properly respond, he suddenly sensed his right surrounding shifted like a mirage, and prepared his arms for the wham, positioning on the side of his face.

A solid blow landed predictably, blowing out powerful winds that ripped the furniture and destroyed the foundational blocks of the house. The impact went centrifugally and especially to the specific direction where Gloathiac punched towards. The ground as a result made a fissure to that direction.

The whole mansion-like house collapsed instantly, letting sunlight penetrate through. The floor tiles seemed to have been erupted, scattering into the ground along with some soil and stones.

However, the strength Gloathiac was proud of seemed just like an ordinary adult hitting on another normal adult.

The damage that was inflicted could only pang, not dealing significant harm. The man didn't even move from the spot.

The assassin's face smirked, half of the lips shown from the mask curled in disdain. "Just a kid."

But unexpectedly, blinding light shone from Gloathiac's body, overturning the assassin's eyes from darkness to sudden brilliant luminance. The instance of interchanging view, gave a surge of pain to the assassin's retinas, delivering a dizzy sensation to the brain.

In a reflex, the assassin's eyes closed. The unpredictable attack had led him lose his battle perception for a moment.
