Several gasps were heard.
Several people bowed upon seeing their sect's venerable guardian spirit beast enter the town.
"What's going on? Why is the guardian spirit beast in town?"
"Do you think it has sensed any demons among the visitors or the merchants?"
"Is that a girl lying on it's back?"
"Is she hurt?"
"Hey! Isn't that First Senior Brother's disciple? Why is she riding on the guardian spirit beast?"
A loud buzz of discussion arose when Ming Yue came riding into the town on the giant panda.
She was completely oblivious of the cacophony of discussions she caused as she was too busy rubbing her face against the fluffy back of the panda.
It wasn't until the giant panda suddenly stopped and made a low growl that she awoke from her reverie.
"Oh, we're here. Thank you for the ride Mr. Panda." She said and patted the giant panda's back before jumping off.
She completely missed the several people who were bowing toward the panda and throwing occasional glances toward her as she was too busy looking at the buildings trying to find the missions building.
She didn't know that the giant panda was the sect's most revered and respected guardian spirit beast and was on the same level of respect and veneration as the sect's ancestor. Not even the Patriarch recieved that much veneration. Which wasn't as strange as it might sound as the giant panda was here on this mountain long before the ancestor founded the Righteous Sword Sect.
Ming Yue finally found the missions building but frowned when she saw the small entrance. There was no way the giant panda would be able to fit through that door. She faced the giant panda and said, "Mr. Panda, wait here I won't be long."
Then she walked toward the missions building.
But just as she arrived at the door of the mission's building, a figure came flying out and crashed onto the ground right in front of her. Then a short strong-looking girl with rolled up sleeves, showing off a pair of exceptionally beefy forearms, stepped out of the missions building and pointed toward the sorry figure who laid on the ground.
"Try that again and I'll make a woman out of you!"
Ming Yue looked at the figure lying on the ground in front of her. It was a man and his face was completely covered in blue and green bruises and blood was trickling out of his nose.
"Oh? A new face!" The strong-looking woman said as she saw Ming Yue and quickly moved over to her and wrapped an arm around her. "I was just looking for a partner for a mission. What do you say? What's your cultivation base?" The strong-looking woman suddenly began to turn Ming Yue left and right while her eyes moved up and down her body. "Hmm... only early mortal stage?"
Jun Xi had explained to Ming Yue earlier that the ring would hide her demonic aura, however it wouldn't hide the energy her demonic core naturally emitted, only the demonic qi would appear as spiritual qi to the other sect members.
"It doesn't matter. The mission's only requirement is that there must be two participants and that one of them must at least be in the early heavenly stage. So with me around you'll be safe! No worries!" The strong-looking woman said and confidentally pointed toward herself with her thumb. "I'm Yao Yao! What's your name?"
"Uh?" Ming Yue was completely confused. Who was this woman and why did she beat up that man and what's with all this talk about a mission? However she managed to process the last sentence so she answered, "Ming Yue".
"Ming Yue?" Yao Yao said as she appeared to be thinking. The name seemed familiar but she couldn't figure out why. "That's a good name! Let's be friends!"
Friends? Upon hearing that Ming Yue's face lit up and she felt as if the sun had finally peeked around the clouds for a very long time. Besides Jun Xi she didn't really have any other friends since she had transmigrated.
"En! Let's be friends!" Ming Yue said happily.
Several spectators gasped and shook their heads in dismay upon seeing the two of them. Yao Yao was a well-know trouble maker, wherever she went a catastrophe would soon happen. And now this cute and innocent looking girl had been pulled into her fold. Some of them wanted to go up to Ming Yue and whisper a warning, but they didn't dare to enter the catastrophe zone that had been calculated and tested to be a 3 meter radius around Yao Yao. Anyone who entered this zone would eventually face a catastrophe.
"Ha ha ha!" Yao Yao laughed happily and wrapped her arm around Ming Yue again. "Then let's go!"
"Is it okay if I bring my pet?" Ming Yue asked.
"Pet?" Yao Yao asked as she looked around, however she couldn't see any spirit beasts besides the sect's guardian spirit beast.
"Mr. Panda, say hi to my new friend, Yao Yao." Ming Yue said.
"Mr. Panda?"
Then a low growl came from the giant panda which seemed to cause the air to vibrate and form ripples.
"Eh!?" Yao Yao's eyes turned round from shock as she looked back and forth between Ming Yue and the guardian spirit beast. "T-the guardian spirit beast is your pet?" She stuttered. "A-awesome! Of course he can come!"
While Yao Yao sounded confident when she said those last words she still hesitated until she saw Ming Yue run up to the guardian spirit beast and began petting him. Only then did she slowly move over to them.
Ming Yue climbed up on the giant panda's back and sat down. "Come on up! We'll get there faster if we ride on Mr. Panda."
"R-right." Yao Yao said. She then with a shaky hand reached for the guardian spirit's fur to see what would happen while silently praying. She knew of her reputation as a walking bringer of catastrophes. However, so far the catastrophes had been rather minor, the worst time was when a whole building collapsed after she had punched a supporting pillar in a rage. But this time she had a feeling a much more severe catastrophe was on the horizon.
Seeing how the guardian spirit beast didn't seem to mind her touching him, her confidence grew a little more and eventually she climbed up and sat behind Ming Yue.
