Synopsis

Chapter 1 - Effective IQ

At our times, most of you have done these IQ tests already. But they are designed for us, humans - in the first place. They are completely inadequate to measure IQ of some gods, supercomputers, dolphins and apes, lesser animals and insects.

In fact, some more general IQ tests - like opening locks and solving mazes - are developed to measure some kinds of non humans' IQ. They are rather useful when we wish to compare at least some of our brains' functions with abilities of other animals.

All the major tests do try to measure our IQ when we are at our best, they don't make any allowance for you sleepiness, illness, drunkenness and so on. If you try to make them under any influence, you'll measure your Effective IQ instead of you real one. And there aren't a lot of influences that would make you perform better - and the margin of any positive influence would be small too. Doping works better with our muscles.
