Chapter 41 - Tree travels [part 1]

Ugh, how long has it been since I became a tree? Stuck in this never ending cycle of staring at scenery, doomed to be trapped in this one spot forever, or at least that's what I thought.

On an especially boring day I happened to spot what looks to be a caravan. It sure must be nice to live as a merchant, traveling the world, meeting new people, going on new adventures each day.

If only...hmm? Wait, why can't I be a merchant. Well, I guess I'd be more of a freeload-cough cough, I mean stowaway. Anyways, I have a plan. But this plan only works if they come close to me.

I observe the merchants, my saviors, waiting for the perfect timing. I watch as an above-average looking, middle-aged man orders some beefy looking men around. The look comfortable with each other, because their team coordination is flawless, they're quickly unloading the crates from the back of the caravan, giving me less and less time to waste. While the bulky men and middle aged man busy themselves with work, I notice a small boy around 10 years of age sneaking off from inside the caravan. The kid is coming in my direction. If he's part of the merchant group, then this is my chance!

Right when the child was about to reach me (I assume to hide behind me), he gets caught. The middle aged man, who seems to be the kid's dad, spots him and yells,"SVEN! I TOLD YOU NOT TO RUN OFF LIKE THAT!" The father jogs over to us, kneels down to the boy and whisper," I know I ask a lot of you... which is why you can explore the other places we go to, but I warned you before we came, this place is a danger zone, one wrong step and it's off with your head, you need to trust me on that."

Danger zone? This place? I've yet to explore the entire area, but from what I've seen it's pretty peaceful here...

"I'm sorry father."(´-`)

"Sigh, it's fine. Let's go back." The father takes the boy's hand and starts walking back to the caravan. This is my chance!

While their backs are turned I latch a couple of seedlings onto the middle-aged man and his kid. Success! By the time they walk back, the burly men have already finished unloading everything and they quickly receive they're payment and leave, very efficient.
