When Jiuwen reached the office, she parked in the underground parking lot and made use of the elevator.
"What is it aunty? Are you OK?"
Jiuwen smiled but no longer her bright smile, "Yes, yes. I'm OK."
Is that her? She looked at the numbers that were counting up, she needs it to count faster. She wanted to meet Riuwen right now.
Ding! The elevator door parted and she walked Zhihao to Zhaolin's office. She didn't say hi and went straight to her brother's office but he wasn't in... She picked her phone and called him.
She heard the phone ringing in the office. That fool, he left his phone here.
She stormed out of the building and hailed a taxi. The road was a bit busy so it took her an hour to get to her destination.
She went straight in and waited for the elevator but it was somewhere, perhaps going up or coming down. She stood there waiting but her heart wasn't at peace. She went for the staircase.
When she got to the last floor, she was panting heavily. Who told me to use it?
She knocked on the door after steadying her breathing.
"Yes," a man answered from within. She pushed the door open and beamed at the man.
He frowned a little. "Ah Jiu?"
"Yes dad."
"What are you doing here? And why is your shoulder..."
"Nothing much. I only ran up the stairs."
"You did what?" The man's brows joined together.
"It...it was for exercise."
The man was in disbelief. "Ah Jiu? Do you mind telling me exactly what you are up to?"
She chuckled lightly. "Nothing serious. I came looking for you... I have missed you a lot."
The man's throat bobbed, "We... We just saw ourselves a few days ago... Now what are you saying."
Feng Jiu smiled, He bought it.
She sat on the couch, pretending not to have heard what the man said last.
Rongbo narrowed his eyes at her. She needs something. "Ah Jiu, tell me... What is it you want?"
She sat up slowly, "Where's Riuwen?"
He looked a little bit confused. "What do you mean?"
"Wait, is he not here? Ah Zhao said he was here at the hotel."
The way the man looked at her, it was as if he was doubting her.
"I mean it. Ah Zhao said that Riuwen was here."
The man's expression still didn't change.
"Father, you don't believe me?"
The man shook his head.
She was taken aback. O
She took out her phone and dialed Zhaolin's number, it rang and after sometime someone picked up.
"Linlin, you said Riuwen was in the hotel. Right?"
"No aunty," the voice was none other than Zhihao's. "Uncle Riuwen is here, driving us home."
Jiuwen was flaggerbasted. She swallowed and her eyes collided with Rongbo's. The office was silent and Rongbo had heard her discussion.
Hehe, she chuckled.
"Now, now tell me what you are up to." The man looked straight at her.
"Fa... Dad, can I ask for the contact of an employee?"
The man's eyes squinted. "No."
"But... But I won't cause any harm... I'm your daughter, what harm can I possibly cause..."
He didn't say anything more.
Jiuwen felt helpless. "Dad, please."
"Whose?" The man finally asked.
"Ah, yes. My friend... My friend. Bai Xueyan."
He looked at her with eyes filled with questions.
No please don't ask.
"Only her number."
"Yes, yes." That's more than enough.
*****
The doorbell rang and Yuxi went over to unlock the door. When she opened the door she saw a man in black suit at the door and furrowed her brows. "Who are you?"
Riuwen maintained his professionalism. "I'm Feng Riuwen," he waited for another question.
"From the expressway delivery, I was sent to deliver this parcel to Miss Xueyan." He continued when she didn't say anything.
Yuxi sized him up. Sent to deliver a parcel? And he's dressed in such an attire?
She folded her hands, "Miss Xueyan isn't home at the moment."
Feng Riuwen smiled. "I'm well aware of that,"
She rested on the door and tilted her head to watch the man closely.
She wasn't buying any of this. "OK, then you can just take your leave."
She didn't wait for his reply and went in to slam the door shut, but she didn't when she saw Qingran smiling and running towards the door. "Hello, aunty." She bypassed the man and went straight to Yuxi.
Yuxi bent over and carried the little girl.
Feng Riuwen's pupil dilated.
At the same time, Xueyan returned as well.
She looked a little bit tired, until she saw the man in black, "Riuwen?"
He spun around immediately.
"You know him? A delivery man?" Yuxi asked.
What delivery man? She recognized this man the instant she saw him.
"Yu..."
"Miss Xueyan, this parcel was sent to you." Without saying who, he turned around and left.
Yuxi brows jammed. He is a liar!
She carried the little girl in and went for her laptop. He can fool anyone else but me, she muttered as she typed away with fast speed on her laptop, after about five seconds about a hundred people with the name Riuwen appeared on her screen.
She scrolled down and found him, clicking into his profile. She spent five minutes on studying his profile then stood up and opened the door to see Xueyan still rooted at the spot.
"He isn't harmful just that he's a little bit weird. Come on, in."
Xueyan came back to her senses, and followed Yuxi back into the house.
When she came in she saw the laptop lying on the table, did she already search him up?
Her sister Yuxi, studied computer engineering and was very good at hacking. A badass hacker.
She then remembered there was something in her hand, she took it out and unwrapped it.
A cellphone. Wait, a cellphone?
She was taken aback.
How can... Xing Zhaolin. It dawned on her.
"Ah," Yuxi exclaimed when she saw what was in the wrap. "Sister, you bought yourself a phone already? Oh my, oh my... It's the newest Samsung phone. Wow, praise be to God. Finally you bought a phone and it's not a simple one, who would have thought you were this thoughtful? You wanted to start from the top. You are amazing, just amazing, but wait why was it delivered by that man? Is he your personal assistant? Whoa, sis you have surprised me, you really have outdone it all. This is another goodnews that is worth to be celebrated..."
