Chereads / THE CEO's LOVE / Chapter 51 - FAMILIAR FIGURE

Chapter 51 - FAMILIAR FIGURE

It's another day, the sun had probably risen from the west as it already ruined Zhaolin's day.

"About the clothes, shoes, I do not need any of them from you. I would love to return them to you." That was the first thing she said to him yesterday.

He didn't say anything, besides he had nothing to say. It was like she wanted him so far away from her, from her life. Without even giving him a chance.

"I really wish that you stop doing all these. I don't wish to build a bad image myself."

She spew fire at him for complete thirty minutes. She really wants nothing to do with me. That's the harsh reality he had to accept.

He listened without interrupting her and at the end he just smiled. He wanted to reassure her that it's all OK.

A knock on his door brought him back to the present.

"Yes,"

Secretary Jiang came in, "Sir, we will be leaving for City M in an hour. Anything else you need?"

"No,"

As the secretary left he called his mom. "I will be sending Zhihao over to the restaurant."

The woman was excited waiting for her grandson.

He briefed Riuwen on some matters and left with the secretary.

At the hotel.

Xueyan was in a room, wiping the artifacts. Her face didn't look so bright like it always did.

"Oh, I really can't believe that this room is these much dirty. Everywhere is a mess." Mei Han complained from behind her.

Xueyan smiled, "We have been having fun cleaning up the neat rooms... So best is to bear with it."

"Yes, you're right. Now, now, let me help you with that." Mei Han walked over and helped with the bed mattress.

Five minutes later, they both exited the room, chatting away happily and went to the laundry room at the first floor.

Mei Han talked about how much she loved the free apartment provided for the workers. And how much she adored Zhaolin. She praised him saying that he kept the feelings of human in the larger part of his heart.

"Young Master Xing is so capable. It's really not easy to put out have your employees at heart but he was able to do that. He's currently running his grandfather's company and still has time for his hotels, schools and hospital. Now tell me, isn't he capable?"

When Xueyan heard the name, she tried her best to keep smiling. She didn't reply merely watching Mei Han fawn over him.

"If I ever get to meet him, I'd be sure to seduce him and make him fall for me. I will send Miss Shiya back to her parents and have him pamper me so much... Oh, I really love him." Mei Han confessed with love falling out of her eyes.

Xueyan heard the name Shiya and her smile froze. Yes, he's married. Married to someone deserving of him. He should be satisfied with everything he has, but he is still greedy.

"Do you know that Shiya isn't Zhihao's mother? Not many people know this but it's the truth. Zhihao was..."

Whaat? She's not his mother? But... Mei Han's other words vanished into the think sky as Xueyan's mind wandered away.

As Dai Jingyao and Cui Yao exited the hotel's restaurant Dai Jingyao saw a familiar figure disappear into the dim corridor.

He thought for a while, who the person could be but he didn't seem to recollect. He went after the figure but before he could take the second step a pair of soft hands held onto him. He turned and looked at the hands clinging onto him, a wave of nausea swept over him. He looked up to see her acting face. What is wrong with this woman? She asked for lunch and I treated her to one... Now what? He pulled his hand away, "Hold on a minute. I would be back." He strode away not waiting to hear her reply.

Cui Yao lifted her hand to call out to him but he disappeared before she could.

Well, he treated me to lunch so we're cool. Hehe. I need to look for more opportunities to go out on a date with him. Cui Yao thought.

Dai Jingyao searched for the familiar figure but didn't find her. He lingered around a while to know if she will appear again but she didn't. That person, who is she? I know her but can't seem to remember... Who is that person? He watched people hurry to and fro but that figure he seemed familiar with didn't pass by. It's someone I know for sure!

A light smile appeared on his ever so charming face. Well there's only one way to find out.

He went over to the reception, the only one around was the young female receptionist. "Excuse me?" He made sure to use a soft tone so he could easily get her drooling over him. She looked up and her mouth formed an O. "Yes, yes. What can I help you with?" the girl blinked her eyes.

Nice one, she easily caught on. He cleared his throat. "I need a little favor from you..."

"Favor? What favor s...Sir?"

"It's a bit hard, can you help me?"

"Ye, yes. I can help."

"It's a bit personal... Hope you don't mind."

He is such a fine looking man, does he have his eyes on me? Whoa! I'm not going to agree easily... hehe. So many boys have their eyes on me and now I seem to have attracted a very big fish...

"Can I see the employees list?"

Huh? Employees list? What nonsense. "Sorry, but I can't allow you to do that. It's against the rules." She looked away instantly.

This little lass, wow, she isn't so dumb as I thought.

"I will go straight to the manager then." Dai Jingyao acted as if he was walking away, but the receptionist didn't dart a single look his way. He came back and stood before her, this time the light smile on his face was gone. "My wallet is missing, ever since the housekeeper left my room. She had no name tag on so I couldn't remember her name, now I came asking you for the employees list and you refuse to give it... Don't tell me... You..."

"Hunh? Me what? I have no idea what you're talking about and what do you mean by me?" She didn't break a single sweat as she defended herself.

"I will go straight to the manager and complain then."

"Do so, Sir. I'm sure your wallet will be found somewhere in your room... No one would dare break the Hotel's protocol! You must have misplaced it somewhere."

I have just made a fool out of myself. How can she possibly give out the list. He needed to come up with something else. He was racking his brain when the familiar figure passed by him, without him seeing her.
