After questioning a stuttering Dae-Du, the Emperor learned all that his man know.
He learned about the tree she loves to climb, the place she hides when she does something wrong and the stream. He visits all these places everyday but she never shows up.
After recently learning about the diseased Mr Mo's rice farm which Kleila loves going to whenever she's sad or wants to hunt, the Emperor purchased it and hired some men to work on it.
He cultivates rice on it and tells Dae-Du to hire Kleila as the manager.
Dae-Du went to Mr Kumara's house but Kleila refused to see anyone, not even her friends. Her mother apologized for her behavior and explained to Dae-Du the reason why.
Dae-Du wanted to wait a little longer but figured it'd be rude and the Kumara doesn't know who he is so he bowed and explained his reason for coming. "Thank Mrs Kumara, my boss owns a rice farm just a few miles away from here and we're looking for workers.
I've been going to houses, letting them know about this and so I thought I should branch here just in case your daughter might be interested, please have her check the signboard hanging on a scarecrow if you think she'd be interested."
When Dae-Du returned and informed the Emperor of their progress, the Emperor signed at failing again but he decided he would give Kleila more time to recover.
They never expected her to mourn the dead girl for almost a month now, but now they know and also know that they can't do anything but hope that she comes out of whatever pain she is in.
The Kumara's let Dae-Du visit as he was the one who brought home their unconscious little daughter, although Dae-Du never saw Kleila whenever he visited, he learned a few things that made them worry less.
Dae-Du got up when it reached the time he was waiting for and went to his Emperor's room, there he bowed at his door and informed him that he's going to the Kumara's house like he always does and then he left.
He left no longer excited as he used to be for he already knows how this visit will be, he played and replayed it in his mind, he even added some changes but at the end, when he opens his eyes, he knows the changes are just want his mind wants and the reality is that the young girl love the dead girl so dearly.
But then, as he enters the Kumara's compound he saw her, in her hands held a basket and she appears to be coming back from somewhere.
What surprised him more was when the girl walked up to him and looked him in the eyes, then said. "I see you're the strange mister who followed me home."
"I didn't mean.." Dae-Du began to explain his reason but she interrupted him by grabbing him and saying afterwards. "Mother told me you were looking for workers, you even came to my home to ask if I was available, I didn't know that was the reason ..alright, I might have heard that, but I promise I didn't understand any word one was saying to me then ..I was..." She stopped and looked up at him, then her hand which has his.
"Late Mr Mo loved me, he'd want me to work at the farm if he were still alive. I know you don't understand what I'm talking about now and that your offer has expired but I promise you that if you reconsider your offer, you won't regret it.
I will make every single rice on that land multiple ten folds. I promise." She finished, crossed her heart, kissed it and began to look at Dae-Du pleading.
