Chapter 29 - Please..

Kenniae always use Xamva to set example for Nena when talking about men she shouldn't associate with and also she uses Dakota as women she shouldn't ever be like.

She has seen her sister crying over the same man and also being yelled at because of him. She despised him so much and wish to teach him a lesson for hurting her sister.

She never got the chance but for some unknown reasons, Xamva has been coming to their compound regularly since this week. He never enters inside, he just stands outside as if waiting for someone and even when Ximnam,  Kanniae or Mr Kumara comes out, he never approach any of them and they too won't speak to him.

Nena was instructed never to talk or get close to him and for some reasons unknown to her, she obeys this.

She does know her sister love this man, she knows they're husbands and wife and she also heard about his abuses and this is the reason why she always throw stones at him anytime she sees him.

Sometimes whenever Xamva visits, she finds her sister looking at him through her window and she cries whenever he leaves.

She couldn't stand seeing her sad but she doesn't know what to do to make her happy. She wishes her happiness because she has grown to like her and she was always there for her when she when she couldn't speak nor understand their language.

"Hmm.." She says while checking at the next stone which seems too big and small at the same time. "Well i will only know if it's big by testing it ..won't I?" She mused and then lift up the stone to throw at Xamva  but found him walking out and a stone throw away from where he is, there is Ixa coming in. Immediately she stood up to go give him a hug while smiling but stopped when she saw the two man staring at each other.

She has always wanted Ixa to fight Xamva, she even beg him to but he told her that Dakota will beat him if he does it. She frowns throughout that day but let it go the next day.

She ran to the backyard after seeing Xamva leaving the compound.

"Sister! Sister." She called excitedly as she makes her way to Dakota. "Sister, Muna father is here!." She said excitedly and then sit down at the floor besides Dakota.

"What is it sister, are you angry about the oranges?" She asked when Dakota didn't say anything or made an attempt to get up.

"Nena." Dakota called softly ..so softly that you would hardly hear her but Nena heard and she answered.

She turned to face Nena "Ixa isn't my baby father. My husband is." She continued when Nena didn't say anything but kept on looking at her to explain herself.

I.. I lied because I didn't want Ximnam to do anything mischievous to him."

"I'm sorry." She sign in distress. "He knows now, father, mother and my husband too. Like I knew ..he went to him and while hitting him it slipped out in anger and now Xanva is visiting constantly, I fear he will take me back to his house before I'll put to bed."

She whispered the last sentence but what has Nena worried is the fear in her eyes.

"I wanted to tell you, I wanted to tell you so badly because I see every day the impact of  what my lies is turning you into but I was scared. You're constantly looking for trouble and firing stone at those who offends you with that catapult Ximnam got for you ..My God, what was he thinking!

Please Nena..." Nena didn't let her finish, she stood up and begin to look down at Dakota. She's furious but more curious.

"I don't understand, if Xamva is your baby father why did you lie and got hit by him. You also got insulted by the town people. Why sister?" Nena asked really desperate for answers. She too was angry at her sister for cheating on her husband and therefore she always eats the fruit anyone gets for her and telling her it's her punishment for being unfaithful and now this.. This, she want answers.

She seeks to know why her sister is always sad even when the acclaimed father visits.

Dakota hold Nena hands which makes Nena to look at her. "Now that you know the truth, please be less angry at me but please don't be like me. Promise me Nena, promise me you won't be like me.."
