Jonathan's lips were warm and comforting. His hands were gentle and kind. His heartbeat was steady and loud. His smile was entrancing and handsome. His kiss seemed so practiced and perfect.
"Jonathan," I breathed in a free moment from the kissing.
"Summer...if I scare you, if I bother you...just stop me, okay?"
"Oh, it's not that...just...have you kissed anyone before?"
"You'd be the second," he admitted.
"Who was your first?" I asked. "If you don't mind."
"A girl from school named Maddie. But that was...really bad," he laughed.
I giggled. "And this isn't?"
"Oh, no," he said. "If this is your first time kissing, you're doing a really great job."
"Oh...thanks, I guess," I said.
He laughed that rich, melodious laugh and our lips connected again.
It hadn't taken long for us to start kissing. Jonathan had made the move, like before, hesitant at first but slowly gaining confidence. His hand was on my neck and the other on my hip. Both my arms were wrapped around his waist.
We'd found sanctuary in the cabin I shared with the three other girls. I trusted not to be disturbed thanks to Jessica.
I focused again on Jonathan's eyes and found myself drowning in their brilliant blue color.
"Jonathan...I love you."
"I love you, too, Summer."
